  1. This sounds like a soundtrack for something.... Can't imagine what it might be. :burn:
  2. Might be interested. I will PM you within the next day and let you know.
  3. These should be high on your list: B5 Audi S4 (you can find one for $20k or less with avg miles from a private party  ) VW R32 (MAG has had their blue one for 5 months at $27 or 28k go and offer $24k because I doubt they can sell it...that's what I'm doing in 2 months; carmax is only offering to buy them for $23k) C5 Vette (but I don't know how you're going to get around in the winter )
  4. New prediction: This thread will soon become a new Lifetime mini series. Stay tuned. I had very custom-oriented work done a while back by IPS and I was very satisfied with the results. I am a happy customer; would do business again. It was not a 3000GT or a Stealth, I know better than that because God himself couldn't make those bitches run right. Sell the Mitsu, buy a Toyota. The end.
  5. Jeff, We've done business in the past and I was pleased with the results. I don't think that any other shop in this region could have done the custom type of work you did for me quite as well. I appreciated the straightforwardness and ability to talk one-on-one with the guys working on my car, and I am a satisfied customer. Simply put, "keyboard warriors" will always troll around the internet for various reasons and, being a service-oriented business, that leaves your shop open for criticism by those with no experience whatsoever. I think we all realize that they feel like personal attacks because you built your shop yourself, you're an owner-operator, but let the children be children. PR rep K04 boy just wants sparks to fly, regardless of what kind of work your shop does (if you did landscaping, he'd talk shit about mulch), but it's their hobby while it's your occupation. I personally think you should give it no more thought and ignore the flaming. Your shop already has a good reputation, leave the shit-talking to the "GC posse" and degenerates in Akron/Cleveland.
  6. Yeah, there's no need to have a practical awd daily driver in a climate prone to snow 4 or 5 months out of the year. I should just ditch it and buy a penis extension with a gt42 (that's a big swingin' dick!). But seriously, I'll let you know when I give the Rav4 to my brother, and my new daily will prove my coolness with 200hp+. Gosh, I can't wait to be cool and swing on some nuts in August! You're gonna need to lash your two neons together just to keep up!
  7. You're right, even with advanced notice, you'd still be ghey. Go nutswing on akronracing, back where you belong. My excuse: not enough time go buy a car and make it fast, but I'm tempted to turbo the kubota...
  8. I just need to put my $.02 in here because it's been eating at me for a while now. I'm catching on to this whole colt sleeper thing, because it's pretty slick if you ask me, and I'm starting to like JPs style since the initial nutswinging is over and he seems to be decent guy... BUT I must say, you, sir, are really annoying and I was wondering what it is that keeps your yapper moving like that? Do all of us eager bystanders a favor and shut up. That would be a "no brainer," because your worthless rhetoric gets old after the third post, and it just wastes bandwidth.
  9. I-O Yeah, always a bad omen to come out of the gate ranked #1, but only time will tell. Some other teams I haven't seen ranked so high in a while: UTEP, Clemson... Should make for an interesting season.
  10. Economic theory shows that supply and demand are not directly related. Demand and price, maybe, but not supply and demand. You're wrong. Thanks for playing. PT cruiser what? Remember when people were paying well over MSRP? Did that mean they were worth that? No? Oh, ok. If it was worth more than $40k, Ford would have priced it over $40k.
  11. I have $.02 to give you, same as everyone else. I'm about ready to graduate here, and I've been lucky enough not to need loans for anything so far. IMO, I think you should keep your current car and maintain your way of life. It's a hard thing to deny yourself, because immediate gratification seems like a good idea (essentially what credit is for), but I've been in your shoes and I think you will be happier if you wait. If you were making $600/week that would be different, but I think college will be a lot more fun to save some and spend some of what you're currently earning.
  12. Everywhere I go a fly girl will please me East to West... You get the point. Linn FTW, k thx bye.
  13. "Siegfried, this is Roy, the whole white tiger thing didn't seem to work out as well as we thought, huh?"
  14. I tan a few days a week, usually in the winter, because I tend to get pale and I believe that the intense light helps your nervous system recharge. A little light therapy and coloration are nice as opposed to looking like a ghost...plus the girls at the tanning salon are hott.
  15. Um, yeah dude, we know. You're re-stating the obvious, and that issue has been addressed more times than you've posted. The majority of the troublemakers are not on CR, so save your breath. Best idea is still to move from place to place to place. Trying to police something and keep the idiots out is too dangerous and the liability is unreasonable IMO.
  16. State Farm. Can't say I've ever had any problems with them, but I'm still under my parent's insurance because I'm still in college and they're nice about it. So I have 1 speeding ticket (3.5 years ago) and 3 not-at-fault accidents in 7 years (last one was 2 years ago). They have always been excellent with every claim, and I get good personal attention from my agent. No problems with my ticket and never had a rate hike, while they even took care of my accident in Kentucky (they're a no-fault state). They basically muscled the other insurance companies from the 3-car accident and told them what was up, and the other companies paid for the damage (with no-fault your company pays for your own damages and Kentuckians are aweful about it).
  17. There are two emotions here that you have to separate: jealousy and envy. They're different things, so be careful how you use them. Sure, I am probably envious of people like the Schottensteins, but I do believe that the Schottenstein family falls in the category of "filthy rich," and my impression is that it's relatively old money. So maybe it's okay to feel envy, but jealousy is not really justified and neither is hate. I always believe in the philosophy of setting yourself up to succeed, regardless of the external factors like inheritence. So even if you get to spend money you might get from rich mom and dad, you know you've always got your own path and you have some self-gratification. It's said that if you're rich, your children are less than likely to work hard and succeed. I've got friends who put their bar tabs on their credit cards for their parents to pay at the end of the month. Funny thing is, their parents are likely going to donate their inheritances to church and charity to teach them the bigger life lesson. Old money or new money, it all becomes NO money if you're an idiot.
  18. Before child support, you were either an upstanding father and helped pay for your child's expenses, or you were a deadbeat. Now we have guys who are willing to pay that are being driven to the poverty threshold by a system that blindly garnishes wages and doles out their earnings. So you still have deadbeats, but then you get upstanding guys who are pissed because they have to pay ridculous amounts of money they can barely afford. The system clearly fails. Unfortunately, there are guys I know, specifically construction contractors, who have some good years and some bad years, and their child support payments are calculated on their previous year's income. They end up with negative income when times are bad, because they made so much when the times were good. I know guys, who are not much younger than my dad, and they talk about how they had to sell their houses and vehicles and move back in with their elderly parents just to keep on going, and how they only have five more years to pay. They go to work every day and do the best they can, only to get raped by they system and watch their American dream get mailed to someone else...not to mention what their unemployed ex-wives are doing with that money. If there was no child support and the custody system was fair, they'd have custody because their wives would have no house and no income.
  19. Yeah, I signed for a good job with Toyota over a month ago and I'm not likely to ever NEED the PE license, but I figure what the hell. It was stressful but I hope it pays off, and as for 5 years down the road, I think I'd do it just for the recognition and status. My brother's a ChemE and has worked for 13 years, not taking the FE has never been a problem, but I think sometimes he wishes he had the PE status so people would remember he has a degree in chemical engineering. I guess I see it as a way to differentiate from all the hacks out there trying to do my job.
  20. Anybody else take the FE today? Sonofabitch, that test was intense! Four hours for the general morning section (got there at 7:45am, started at 8am), and then another four hours in the afternoon for the second session. Wow, I really hope I never have to take it again! The morning wasn't too bad, but the afternoon just leaves you sore... Just wondering if anybody else took that today, or if anybody else has taken it before? ...Jesse I'm sure your ass will chime in here shortly. Did you take the discipline-specific afternoon or the general? Almost all of my mechanical classmates and I took the second, harder general section in the afternoon, and it may have been a mistake because it was a whore...but hopefully I pass. (considering I spent less than 8 hours studying over one week)
  21. No, you must have a Vette to be an alright guy. True story.
  22. That's my neck of the woods, but seeing as I'm never there I don't know. Synopsis: Some kid, 20 years old from Mt Vernon, has an Evo IX and decides to drive north on SR 13 and was going way way too fast. With 3 passengers in the car, loses control and bounces off a guardrail into an oncoming Ford pickup driven by a middle-aged couple. Sad thing is, the driver is among those who were treated and released, while his passengers were the ones seriously hurt. The rear passengers of the Evo were the ones who got a nice medevac ride to the hospital, one in serious condition and one in fair condition. I hate to say it, but draw your own conclusion: 20-year-old male driver, 17-year-old female passenger in the front, another 20-year-old male in the back with another 17-year-old female. They're all from out there (in the sticks, pretty much), haulin ass up SR13 and happen to smack into some nice middle-aged couple from Pataskala because the driver can't control his pretty well balanced, new, 286 hp car. Hmmm...I have no sympathy for that jackass driver. I hope he gets the punishment he deserves. http://www.newarkadvocate.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060409/NEWS01/60409004
  23. Please refrain from substituting numbers for letters; this does not make you cool and it simply reinforces the negative, child-like stereotype of Probe owners. Either that or just slit your wrists. Thanks.
  24. The Dodge dealer in Mt Victory has one I saw as I drove by.
