Pretty sweet either way.

Yeah, when you shoot at police, ecspecially a group of four and 2 of them are swat. You are done for. I'm pretty sure he knew this and was probably why he shot at them. Leaving fro Afganistan that day. Just killed your girlfriend. Put the gun to your head and threatened to kill yourself after what you did. I would bet that this was a suicide by cop situation.

I did some work on the Camaro today but have not had a chance to test drive it. I get off work at 11 and will take it for a test drive when I get home. If its ok then I will head out to Brice.

I was in DC in May and I damned near went crazy in the traffic down there. No wonder everyone rides the train. -
HA HA I was waiting for the LS1 comment.

I noticed the Camaro acting a little funny about a week ago, started chugging on the freeway at about 75 mph in 6th at around 3,000 RPMs. I was able to drive through it and it cleaned up. I didnt pay much attention and just chalked it up to the tune since I knew it was already rich, just have not been able to get back to the dyno for a new tune. Then I noticed the motor ticking a few days later as I was idling through the parking lot at a shopping center. I changed the oil in it on Sunday and started it up to get it warm and recheck the level. I really heard it ticking pretty good at this point and I am pretty sure its in the valve train. So I figured I would pull the valve covers off this weekend and check it out. I was not to worried because it seemed to be running pretty good but did feel a little down on power. So like a dumb ass I figured it wont hurt to drive it to work today. HA yeah right. I dont even get 1/2 mile away and its shooting ducks and backfiring. Turned around and took it straight back home and drove my truck. So I am more than likely gonna be replacing some valve train parts this weekend AGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read that he was not being held and no charges have been filed as of yet but I do believe its going to the Grand Jury to see for sure.

Thanks Scott. I did some looking around and I think I am just gonna stay with my LT.
-
I have not checked LS1 Tech. Honestly I have not put any thought in to a 5.3.
-
So my original plan with the Camaro was to pull the LT1 this winter and build a 383 out of it and spray it. That is a proven combo that should put me in the mid 9's range, however it would have taken a lot of the daily driving out of it because I would have to run a solid cam and 110 race gas for the setup I had in mind. Now I don't know a whole lot about LSX motors other than everyone if flying in their DD's. So my question is whats the difference in cost if I just did and LSX swap versus attempting to stay die hard with my LT1 and doing the 383? The 383 is gonna kill me in machine work. All in all I figured it was gonna cost me about 6k in total for the 383. What is it cost to swap in an LSX and get the same outcome and still be a DD? And I plan on spraying it to get it there. The main reason I even considered staying with the LTX was to participate in the LTX shooutout every year but I didnt really wanna give up the driveability for it. If I can spend the same and still run pumped gas and drive from the East side to Dublin and back every day then thats way more worth it to me.

what would you do? ver. new dell problem
KennyFKINPowerz replied to Stallion Motorsports1647545491's topic in Dumpster
They outsource their techs to local pc repair shops who are Dell certified, which means nothing because when they sent the guy to my house and he sat and watched me replace my mother board because he had never done one before. Anyways, they usually send the part to you and then dispatch a tech after the part arrives. -

You did the right thing man. I have always had a hard time walking away and that is something I have been working on more as I have gotten older. I jumped out of my car several times and the last time I got in to a pretty big fight in the middle of the street it cost me attorney fees, insurance deductable and made me feel kind of like an ass. My wife didnt say much except for "what if he had a gun and shot you". That really got me thinking and I dont wanna leave my family alone because of my ego. Props to you for being the bigger person.

You can build big horsepower withougt having to tear it down all the time but its about big money up fron for good parts and how good your engine builder is. When we raced Top Sportsman we stopped building our own engines, although we never had one blow or break, there is a lot at stack with high dollar parts. We started using Gellner Engineering in Cleveland and my buddies still use him. Our 632 cost about 35,000 to build and it gets freshened once a year and we sprayed it pretty good. The only thing we ever broke in 5 years was a push rod and rocker arm. My buddy still uses the same motor and makes 6 second runs on every pass and gets sprayed on every pass. Now when we raced IHRA Pro Stock we used 814 Sonny motors which had to be torn down every 25 passes and that motor cost 70k to build. Just kind of an idea on what kind of cash can be thrown just in to your powerplant. When we bracket raced with our Tans Am we had a 496 that we put probably 300 passes on and never broke a thing. We built that one ourself and had about 10k in it and it ran 8.60's on a 150 shot but that was its limit and it was in a chassis car. Mind you this was almost 10 years ago so prices have gone up a bit and technology has changed a bunch. Either way like many others have said, going fast takes deep pockets.

Very nice man.

I would do the GTO. It's a lot more fun having a fast car that you can run around in. The grudge car will be fun at first and its eventually going to tear your wallet up, unless you have really deep pockets. I have gone both routes and I have to say that while having a dedicated race car was fun for a while it just turned in to a job and took all of my time and money. When I was crewing for my buddys IHRA Pro Stock car people would always come up and ask him what they need to do to go Pro Stock racing and he would say start with 3 million and when you get down to 1 then STOP. He doesnt race at all anymore and has not for about 5 years. He has 2 fully assembled Pro Stock cars just sitting in his garage for the past several years. I know thats a little different then what your talking about but going fast like that is just an endless drain on you. I took off about 6 years from racing completely shortly after that and I dont think I would ever go back to it like that unless I hit the lottery. Even the Top Sportsman stuff and the NMCA stuff lost its sparkle after a while. This Camaro that I just bought a couple months ago has been one of the funnest things I have done in a long time. I'm planning on tearing it apart eventually and doing more to it and thats about as far as I am gonna go.
