The Regal is a re-badged Opel Insignia. It's actually a little bit smaller than the Malibu. The Lacrosse and the Malibu share similar underpinnings. The Regal is a tad smaller than the Malibu. I'm a little biased because I sell them but the Regal has been a phenomenal car. Even the n/a model is a blast to drive. The turbo has brought in a whole new demographic. We've seen the average age of our typical buyer come down about 20 years in age. I'm 25 and drive one for a demo and I have two salesmen under the age of 30 that own them.

Don't forget the fact that a diesel engine will run forever and then some. Resale value is definitely higher too. Resale value of a diesel with 100,000+ miles > Non-diesel with 70,000 miles.

I had a Liberty Mutual adjuster come out and do an estimate on our Envoy Denali a few years ago. A contractor was doing street work in Canal Winchester two days before the posted signs said it was to being. Chipped my windshield and took a small chunk out of my front bumper. A credit union would probably be more forgiving in tougher times. Just don't keep any of your assets there as they can seize any assets held there to repay any loan if you default.
