  1. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my Pontiac 400 in my 67 GTO and I just thought I share some pics. I just finished with the bottom end, degreed the cam and set the heads. I'm now working on getting the valve train geometry set up correctly (needed longer pushrods to get the correct roller sweep. Here's what I got so far: 67 Pontiac 400 .030 over TRW L2440 Forged Pistons w/ molly rings Stock rods with ARP bolts Rotating assem. has been balanced and blue printed. Crower 60916 Cam (222 / 230 duration) 112 LSA .484 intake / .500 exhaust lift with 1.65 ratio. 1.65 Jim Butler Roller Rockers. Stock 670 heads (74 cc) 9.5:1 CR with slight port work (clean up) Comp 995 valve springs, new bronze guides, seals, locks and retainers. Rollmaster Billet Timing Chain Comp Chrome-molly hardened pushrods Edlebrock Performer Intake with 750CFM Carb Headman Headers / Pypes 2.5 dual exhaust with Super 40's Flowmasters. Some other shit but you get the picture... Kauffman Racing up in Mt. Vernon has the same exact set up with one of there 400's in a Firebird and it dyno'd at 420hp / 475tq. Should be back on the road in "2 weeks" . (With help) http://www.gtoaco.com/Engine_Rebuild_004__Small_.jpg http://www.gtoaco.com/Engine_Rebuild_011__Small_.jpg

    go bucks

Nutn but a dick tease to me... nice, but a dick tease.
  8. It's not the fastest car I've ever owned.. but it handles like it's on rails!! I'm impressed with the power output for it only being a 2.2 liter 4 banger. If I want to go fast.. I can take the Goat out of the barn.. 425hp is enough to put a smile on my face..
  9. Here's the story... (Best car video I've EVER seen!!!) FU if it's a repost! French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur. No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit. The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets. Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2851488008488190547&q=lelouch%3e
  10. There is a local speedway near the airport called PMS (Pittsburgh Motor Speedway) Circle Dirt-track For cruising.. South Park on a Saturday night is the SHIT!! Lots a cars!! AND Honeys!! Grew up in Carnegie.. Where you at? Pittsburgh is a great town!!
  11. I believe it's an H22 (that's stamped on the block right?) BTW, What the fuck does that mean?
  12. I don't believe it's a SH model (not sure how to tell) I think it's a base model. Thanks for all the kind words.. Ive heard of these having tranny problems, so I'm going to take it "easy" :jerkit: as often as I can.. We'll see how long that lasts...
  13. Yeah, you do sit pretty low (almost on the floor) but it's got a tight feel in the turns and is the sportiest car I've owned since I bought my 92 Talon back in 92! It's nice to have a car you enjoy driving for a change.
  14. Just traded in my 2001 Ford Ranger today (Gas pig) for this 1998 Honda Prelude. I love this car.. It's a blast to drive. I'm pretty impressed with it's 2.2 liter 4cy. It's rated around 200 hp. and the best part is it gets around 27mpg. My truck was getting 13 to 15 on a good day. It's got the "sport stick" shifter (auto / manual) transmission. Does anyone on here own one or have experience (good or bad) with these cars?? Is there any local clubs or followings that I could get involved with?? Just wanted to share.. http://images.autotrader.com/images/2006/4/1/199/581/268056925.199581303.IM1.MAIN.565x421_A.562x421.jpg http://images.autotrader.com/images/2006/4/1/199/581/268056924.199581303.IM1.02.565x421_A.562x421.jpg
  15. I just moved to Johnstown 3 yrs ago.. and I know better than to do 36 in a 35. They ALWAYS have someone pulled over on 62. I got a $92 ticket for running a stop sign... Suck ass!! I hope it turns into the next New Albany.. I bought 5 acres and put a 4 bedroom house on it for almost nothing.. We'll see how lucky I am...
  16. Be very very carefull down there my friends... I went down in May of 2004 and that was the last I ever saw of my bike in one piece. I rode the Dragon about 5 or 6 times.. Fun!!! Then we went over to the Cherohala Skyway.. I lost it in a turn doing about 70.. I got into some loose gravel on the edge of the turn... bike caught on fire and burned to the ground.. I ended up being life flighted to University of Tenn. Hospital for almost a week... Broken pelvis and other "fun" injuries. My buddy got a pic of my bike when it exploded.... http://www.tailofthedragon.com/slayers/2004/explosion.jpg It was the best riding I've ever done (until that point)

  21. Found this on another site.. pretty interesting: * One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic inch Hemi engine makes more horsepower than the first 4 rows of NASCARs at the Daytona 500. * Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1-1/2 gallons of nitro methane per second; a fully loaded 747 consumes jet fuel at the same rate with 25% less energy being produced. * A stock Dodge Hemi V8 engine cannot produce enough power to drive the dragster's supercharger. * With 3,000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into a near-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock at full throttle. * At the stoichiometric (stoichiometry: methodology and technology by which quantities of reactants and products in chemical reactions are determined) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture for nitro methane, the flame front temperature measures 7,050 deg F. * Nitro methane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases. * Dual magnetos supply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder. * Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After halfway, the engine is dieseling from compression, plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1,400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting the fuel flow. * If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in the affected cylinders and then explodes with sufficient force to blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or split the block in half. * In order to exceed 300 mph in 4.5 seconds, dragsters must accelerate an average of over 4G's. In order to reach 200 mph (well before half-track), the launch acceleration approaches 8G's. * Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before you have completed reading this sentence. * Top Fuel engines turn approximately 540 revolutions from light to light! * Including the burnout, the engine must only survive 900 revolutions under load. * The redline is actually quite high at 9,500 rpm. * Assuming all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs an estimated $1,000.00 per second. * The current Top Fuel dragster elapsed time record is 4.441 seconds for the quarter mile (10/05/03, Tony Schumacher). The top speed record is 333.00 mph. (533 km/h) as measured over the last 66' of the run (09/28/03 Doug Kalitta). -------------------- Putting all of this into perspective-------------------- You are driving the average $140,000 Lingenfelter "twin-turbo" powered Corvette Z06. Over a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged and ready to launch down a quarter mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the 'Vette hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line and past the dragster at an honest 200 mph. The 'tree' goes green for both of you at that moment. The dragster launches and starts after you. You keep your foot down hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums and within 3 seconds, the dragster catches and passes you. He beats you to the finish line, a quarter mile away from where you just passed him. Think about it, from a standing start, the dragster had spotted you 200 mph and not only caught, but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1,320 foot long race course. ... and that my friend, is ACCELERATION!
  22. Yes, right here in Central Ohio!! I've been to some of these places (movie theater in Gahanna) with my 7yr old!! Unbelievable!!! http://www.nbc4i.com/news/7302651/detail.html
