Make sure to get a shot timer with a par function. She'll love it.

I've shot a shitload of sporting clays at Cardinal over the past few years (like 8000rd a couple summers ago). Personally, I would HATE to run an 870 or 500 for sporting clays, trap, or skeet. If you're playing by the rules, you're typically going to be engaging 2 clays rather quickly. Good luck doing that with a pump. It can be done, but it sucks. I'd try to find a used CZ O/U if I were you. I'd bet you could find one for ~$300. They can be had for ~$500 new, depending on model. Stoeger also wouldn't be a bad, albeit cheap, option. New, they can be had for ~$450. If you want to go the semi-auto route, good luck finding an 1100 that isn't a busted up POS for your price range. Look into the Mossberg SA-20's. ~$500 new, obviously cheaper if used. I'm not usually a Mossberg fanboi, but a buddy of mine who is way more into sporting clays than I am has one, and I was pleasantly surprised when I shot it. It's so light, it's laughable, but it was fun as hell to shoot. I'll also rent you my Browning 525 Citori O/U for $5/day with a $5000 safety deposit. Or better yet, rent one there. Probably the easiest option.

I used to run Production with a G34. I enjoyed it but never spent as much time doing it as I really wanted to. I was running through a serious amount of ammo for awhile and it got quite expensive despite me handloading everything in bulk. I was running anywhere from ~700-1000rd/week just in practice for awhile. Tips: -Dryfire, dryfire, dryfire. It's free and its amazing how much you can improve even though your not firing an actual round. I met with Steve Anderson to get some pointers from him prior to dipping my toes in the water. Super nice guy. Buy his drill books if he still offers them. I believe he works at Vances in Obetz now. Also a USPSA Grand Master... -Buy a Dillon XL650 or 1050 if you don't have one already. Then buy your components in bulk (like, 10,000+ at a time). That's truly the cheapest way to do it and you'll probably be blowing through it if you get serious about it. -Get some good shoes, possibly cleats. Don't focus all of your attention on the shooting part. An amazing amount of time can be save just in your footwork and stage planning. -Shoot Steel Challenge if you can as well. It's fun, and makes for great additional practice. -Show up early to matches to help setup and stay late to help break stuff down. Believe me, you'll make some friends doing this. -Get a rule book and read it. Then, read it again. -Have fun. BE SAFE. You're gonna get DQ'd at some point. Don't take it personally. Learn from it. Despite a bunch of people running around with loaded guns, it's one of the safest 'sports' out there, and for good reason. There are rules, follow them. Enjoy! Post up pics of your setup if you have them.

Dewine declares state of emergency over road conditions
RedRocket1647545505 replied to BIGGU's topic in Passing Lane
For the record, I'd be fine with an 18c fuel tax increase if they could guarantee that all of it will go to infrastructure repair, and not diverted to other pet projects. Our roads are fucking atrocious. I don't know what it is about Ohio, but even the newly paved shit doesn't last for more than a couple years or so. The south side of 270 was completely redone a few years ago and its already falling apart. I don't get it. -
Political dumpster fire Part III Greg and Kerry Vs CR

No. A large part of the opioid crisis is a societal mindset in this country. People have an expectation to be pain-free in all aspects of their life, both physical AND mental (take a look at our anti-depressant usage). They can't seem to handle anything on their own and seek an easy way out; a pill. I don't think throwing money at this problem is going to fix it. People know the risks and yet still continue to do it. You can blame the physicians all you want, but when your reimbursement is tied to your patients' pain control, you do what you must to earn your paycheck. Don't like that? Remove it from CMS reimbursement standards. Quit telling people pain is the 5th vital sign. I can promise you that physicians don't like prescribing them any more than you like hearing about them prescribing them. They don't get kickbacks from Big Pharma no matter what Facebook would have you believe. I'm not saying I have an answer to fix it. There is no easy answer. I think it has to start with the parents the moment a human is born. Actually, let's make that before a human is born because there is an alarming number of infants being brought into this world already addicted. I think it starts with toughening up the next generation. Get them used to adversity and 'pain' and managing life problems without a pill. People are so soft these days that they can't seem to cope with any stressor, let alone physical pain. Tough problem. Tough answers. Tough consequences. /random thought rambling -

The same polls that had Hillary by a landslide? For the record, I am for a secure border, and if a wall helps that, then I'm for that as well. Is it full-proof? Nope, but I certainly think it will help. I think there are some other measures that need implemented as well though. A wall alone isn't enough. Also, I am against how Trump 'thinks' he's going to get it done. He will lose this battle in court, and I am glad. If we start allowing things like this to take place, well, I see that as a slippery slope. If it was truly an emergency, then why not declare it before the shutdown? He's grasping at this point. I also think the Blue Team is against this simply because it is something Trump wants, and he wants it because it pisses them off. This Red Team/Blue team shit is getting old. I fucking hate every single one of them. They've probably wasted more than 5.7B on takeout food during the past 5 years. -
I like my profession (critical care RN); my job could be better. Things I like: -Troubleshooting and fixing problems. It's like being a mechanic, but waaay more complicated. The body is just a big, complex machine. -Teaching people. This includes RNs that are new to critical care and the residents that cycle through our unit every month. Neither of them have any idea what they're doing, and I enjoy dropping some knowledge on them. -The pace. I work 12+ hour shifts and most of the time, they fly by. -Actually saving peoples lives (sometimes). -I regularly see things most people could never even imagine. Things I don't like: -I regularly see things most people could never even imagine. There's A LOT of morbidity and mortality in our unit. We are the 4th busiest ICU and Trauma Center in the entire country. I've literally seen hundreds of people die, some quite spectacularly. This includes the 102yo woman whose heart is just plain worn out, to the 14yo kid who fell out of a 50ft tree and hit every branch on the way down. I've mostly gotten numb to it, which I'm unsure if that's a good or a bad thing. There are days where we will clean as much of the blood as we can off someone and then stuff them into a body bag, then turn to each other and say, "I'm thinking pizza for lunch; you guys want in?" It's not normal for most folks, but it is for us. We joke around a lot, most of which would probably be considered inappropriate, but, it helps. -The pay is no where close to commensurate with the amount of work we do or the knowledge we carry around. Its annoying. -Bureaucracy. Hospitals are giant businesses, but they're rather you not know that. I spend my entire day trying to provide the best care that I can for a person, and they spend their entire day counting beans and making my job extremely difficult. Do more with less should be their motto. -Electronic Medical Records. Endless computerized charting. It's become so ungodly complicated to do the simplest of tasks because of the fucking IT side of things. I understand its supposed to make things coalesce more, but it slows my job down soooo much. I have to click on no-less-than 5-6 different warning boxes to administer a single medication. I'm sure you guys have seen the news about the shit that's going on right now with Mt. Carmel? This crap is a huge reason why. It's alarm fatigue, but on a computer. Give me back the days of tri-fold paper charting (never gonna happen...). -The patients and their families (sometimes). A good chunk of them make it to our unit because of something stupid they've done. I do my absolute best to fix them all just the same. I do not discriminate nor will I ever. I will do my best to fix the rapist that got tossed over the balcony in jail just the same as I would try to fix Mother Teresa if she came in (and was actually still alive). But, the patients often make my life a royal pain in the ass, and families can be even worse. I can't tell you how often I get attitude from a family member like it's somehow my fault their loved one ended up here. Its a vent for them, so I generally allow it. But, people are mostly stupid. -Monday morning quarterbacks. Its so ridiculously easy to make a mistake in this profession. Your mistakes cost your company money, my mistakes costs somebody their life. That being said, people love to question you after the fact about why you did or didn't do something a certain way. I personally, don't think I've made any huge errors in caring for people, but I've certainly made my share of mistakes over the years. Overall, I do like my job. I make decent money, though I'd always like to make more. I will always have a job (unless I screw up). Its exciting and I thrive on that aspect. If I had to do it all over again, I'm not sure I would go down this same path. But, I also don't have any idea what I would do instead.
