  1. yes. no. no. Vararam or Halltech yes. Or magic stick 3, or T-Rex, or any other large cam with specs close to those. why? meh. Don't go cheap here. ~~Drive Line mods~~ If you're planning on hitting the track or launching hard with sticky tire, you're going to want a DTE tranny/diff brace, and atleast a heavy duty driver side output shaft. If I think of anything else, I'll post it up.
  2. Sorry for losing you guys so soon. I was in the hammer lane and wasn't about to try and get off at 161. Oh well, I just followed everybody else that missed the exit and ran with them until we got to the 70/270 split.
  3. Correct. The late '03 - '04 had the new style fuel system, which sucks. You can tell if it has the new system by looking up the RPO codes in the glovebox. If it's got the RPO code 'FFS'....don't buy it if you plan on modding. Also, just porting your heads will not bump up your compression. In order to do that, the heads would have to be milled down. How far down they are milled will dictate how big of an increase in compression you will have.
  4. Is it one of those AC Delco POS batteries? That's what I've got in the vette and the thing is junk. I've heard numerous complaints on them. If I hit my brakes, my headlights dim. Put both windows up or down at the same time...and the headlights dim. You can see the voltage drop significantly on the Driver Info Center in the gauge cluster whenever I do this.
  5. Specs? I've been thinking about building a new one.
  6. I rented it a few days ago, but I can't seem to get past the 2nd level. I suck at games.
  7. Top Gear drove one and it fucking sucked. -Ben, I can't remember off hand what the 40 stands for. I know I've been told before, however, I've forgot.
  8. I'd guess that since they've built up the 'GT 40' name, they don't want to tarnish it by losing to the C6Rs. Which we all know would happen.
  9. SLAM on the brakes every once in awhile. That helps a little bit. Other than that, they're Hi-Po brakes and ARE going to squeak...no other way around it. My stock pads on my car squeak like crazy. I feel like a douche driving in a nice place with a bunch of people around only to have my car squeak like a whore's bed.
  10. I'm pretty sure he didn't. I'm not sure why he kept up so well?
  11. fixed. 2002+ were slightly different from what I'm told. I've heard the LS2's run the '01 style. Anyways, congrats man!
  12. 40 roll? No seriously, nice car man. I'd rock one.
  13. That was Ben C. you raced.
  14. That's what I thought. I wasn't 100% sure though. Gearhead, stick to mustangs. lol
  15. Yes, it was John Shroek, sadly. And I agree, it was a super badass car. I heard he ran 10.95 that night. It might even have been the fire pass.
  16. I can't for the life of me remember his real name, but everyone refers to him as 'Shrek'. I talked to a friend of his and they're thinking that the nitrous system didn't shut off when he let off at the end. Damn shame, as that was a pretty fast ass car.
  17. The current LS7 started out life much like a C5r motor, in the C5r racecar, which was a 427. i.e. I think the LS7 is based upon the C5r motor. I've also never heard of the 'Blue Devil' name until they started talking about a hopped up C6. I could be wrong though.
  18. If you hang around to 11, it usually dies out pretty good. Bill- I've only ran it down the track 3 times, 13.1, 13.1, and a 12.6 so far. But I can tell you, I've still got a lot more in it, as I was shifting like a pussy and sleeping off the line. I'm hoping to atleast get a 12.2 out of it. Nate- Game on.
  19. I'll be the one in the blue Z06 running 13s...
  20. Ummm... The 427 'platform' is already out. i.e. C6 Z06
