Optics and mount showed up today so I threw them on. Minus putting a suppressor on it; it's pretty much done. I put the trigger pull gauge on it and it breaks cleanly @ about 3.75lb. Not too bad for a worked over GI setup. I might swap in a decent trigger @ some point. I threw it on the fatshit scale and it weighs in at 8.2lb. with a fully loaded mag. Onto the pics. AimPoint Micro T-1 on an ADM QD mount. The RMR was back ordered, and this was on sale, and I've been wanting one anyways, so I bought this instead. Savage/Stevens (or maybe it's CZ?) makes a decent O/U. My father's got one in 20ga. that I was pretty impressed with for the money. I think he only paid like $5-600 for it brand new. I've never shot a Stoeger, but I've heard good things about them, again, for the money. I kind of want a SxS for a beater.

I think a major problem with this country is that there's no-term limit on Congress. None of those son of a bitches will make an intelligent decision that would help this country because they're so afraid it will hurt their chances at re-election. I'm of the opinion that if they knew they couldn't get re-elected, no matter what, that they'd start doing what's best for the country and no what's best for themselves. The other thing that people need to realize (as LJ's pointed out), is that the whole country is going to have to make some sacrifices in order to get back on its' feet. It's not going to magically get better on it's own. The cuts (and money) are gonna have to come from somewhere.

There's not a single person in this thread that could tell the difference if they were shot with a 9mm, 40, or .45, given they were hit with proper ammo. All make a sufficient hole. All have an adequate amount of penetration. All will kill a person just as good as the other. Decide what you want the gun for. Decide how many rounds you'd realistically like to carry. Shoot some to find out how you like the recoil of each.

I'm not sure what's going on with this thing. I had it outside, streaming some Pandora and got a phone call. Went to answer phone, but the screen went black and the phone turned off. Go to turn it back on and all I get is the 'HTC Incredible' screen to flicker. So I'm thinking, severely dead battery. Plug phone into charger (USB only, because I can't seem to find my A/C adapter), and the amber charging LED is blinking. After a few minutes, the light goes solid amber. Leave it charging for ~30 minutes and attempt to turn it on. Phone just vibrates for a 1/2 sec, the 'HTC Incredible' boot screen flickers on, then the phone goes blank for ~5sec, before doing the same thing over and over. Any idea what the problem is and how I can fix it relatively quickly. I'm on-call for work this evening and this is the only way they have to get a hold of me. FML.

I plan on shooting somebody who looks more prepared than I am and taking their shit.
