  1. I was hit by an uninsured driver. I didn't want the truck totalled but they didn't care and totalled it. I fought for a month negotiating back and forth what the truck should be valued at. Once we agreed on the price we then negotiated me keeping the truck, at first buy back was over 2k, negotiated down to 1k to buy it back. Replaced the door and fender, had it inspected at the state highway patrol and got my rebuilt title. It's not overly difficult to do, dealing with insurance and negotiating was the worst. Any questions shoot me a message.

Just talked to my friend and they’re totaling it. They’re offering him a ridiculous amount for his car, but they did offer him to let him buy it for about a 1/5 of their offer and cut him a check for the rest.

So if he goes the route you did, does he just have to replace the panels that were damaged, get it checked and he can get it retitled? It sounds way too easy.

  2. A buddy of mine got hit last month, which caused damage to the front bumper, headlight/foglight, passenger fender and door. They cut him an initial check for the repairs. But once at the body shop and they actually came out to inspect it, they're now telling him it's totaled. Body shop says there is no frame damage and it's purely cosmetic.

Is it possible to talk an insurance company into not totaling out a car due to a part supply issue?

  3. I’d dump the truck and drive the Cherokee into the grave.

I would think it would be the other way around, wouldn’t it? The Tacoma has to be more reliable than the Jeep. Sell the Cherokee, use that to pay off the truck and then run that one into the ground. Even if you do end up getting rid of the truck for something more kid-friendly, it will still be more than the Jeep in the future.

  4. The last few nights, I've been working outside and noticed the deep orange sun, and dull moon. This despite not having a cloud in the sky and it being middle of July.

Sharing what I just googled and it is a trip to think that fires from hundreds if not thousands of miles away can dramatically affect our atmosphere.

We saw this last night. Pretty crazy that this is happening, but it was very pretty. My daughter loved it.

  5. ok kinda what i thought but i didn't know enough about window tint to say for sure.

And some of those cars she could order a base model of however then it wouldn't have the options she actually does want. Seat heaters, power windows and doorlocks, etc...

Most new SUVs come with the base power features (windows, locks, Bluetooth, rear camera, etc.). You can also add heated seats to anything.

  6. It's nuts out there right now. Anything under $300-325k is gone within hours. My brother-in-law is looking for a house after selling his condo for way over asking price late last year and he can't find anything without it being a bid-and-pray or a total re-hab (structural issues, etc.). He's lost 3 houses already in the past 45 days.

Only positive in all of this is I am sitting really, REALLY good in my house value-wise.

Why has housing been so nuts in Columbus? Is it a big influx of out of town people moving it? Everyone renting now wants to own?

  7. He’s not looking to go for distance, just a way to get everything dialed in. 100-150 is what he was hoping to get.

West Jeff would be awesome if you could hook it up.[/quote

It's outdoors, so we'd probably want to wait a little bit for the weather to break unless you guys don't mind the cold. Then again it doesn't take too much to sight in an AR at 100 yards. Let me know if you want to meet up.

We can wait. I will reach out to you once things thaw, thank you!

EGA Defense near London, OH. I have not been here yet, but I believe they have a 200 yard range. Rayner's has steel at 1,000 yards. Thunder Valley I'm told has steel out to a mile. Fun to shoot that far, but not sure it's worth the travel time to sight in an AR. I have access to a range near West Jeff that is out to 100 yards.
