  1. a cop on campus has been giving tickets for this, as of late (i've got one already)
  2. i might be interested in that fuel cell does it have a sump?
  3. Looking for a cheapie fuel cell Maybe a good one, more expensive...depends what you have i haven't looked into prices for new, yet anyone have one laying around?
  4. yes, those are the cars from that news story i've talked to the detective unfortunately, the VIN #'s were removed from those cars so it's rather difficult to tell who the original owner is/was that's why they're still there
  5. no doubt, GN's apply fox mustangs are questionable, in my mind maybe...
  6. 1966 GTO special order Tiger car Ram air, tripower 4spd with a dozen other options have the correct motor in a bag with a ram air IV engine in it i've had it for 3 days now New intake/carb going in it this weekend and swapping out the fuel cell for a regular gas tank...and it'll be back on the road with 14,000 original miles http://homepages.udayton.edu/~mertzgea/tiger1.jpg http://homepages.udayton.edu/~mertzgea/tiger2.jpg http://homepages.udayton.edu/~mertzgea/tiger3.jpg
  7. From what I understand... There are several of this car (if not more) Pontiac obviously didn't make a car with that paintjob and lettering and all-out drag potential So, they kinda laid the seeds for it. For an extra $120, you could get a tripower HO 389 for an extra 120, a 4spd trans for an extra $40, a ram air pan etc the special part is the paint code mine's special paint code: tiger gold Special order only and another $90 option (lot of $$ back then..and had to be special ordered) You take this car, add the stripe...and you had a tiger car Obviously, there were a lot of tripower 4spd cars built But not many with that paint code, and not many with the ram air pan So, any of the cars equipped with the paint code, tripower engine could be 'tiger' cars From what I hear, Year One's car is a replica...not really the special paint code car but they couldn't find one The truely special tiger cars are the ones that can say they won the NHRA 1973 season or race at xxxx Mine's not one of those. It was a showcar on the national showcar circuit from 1966 to the late 70's....then sat in a factory in dayton. Hence the low miles. I have the original build sheet, window sticker, protecto plate and i know the original owner it was just recently converted to the tiger car and has 14,000 original miles (lots quarter mile) I only know of one other, in Georgia I'm sure I'll be learning more about it in the future
  8. astute - likely or similar to a lot of the popular GTO paint jobs back then http://www.geetotiger.com/ I'll have to research the history a bit more I just ran across this car a few days ago and had to have it http://www.geetotiger.com/ModelsE.jpg
  9. yup, same baron i should probably update this anyway traded the '67 post coupe for a non #'s matching '66 convertible convertible was stolen about 3 months ago? maybe 4 now... Bought a '66 hardtop that I'm picking up this weekend that i'm pretty happy about I have the #'s engine, but a ram air IV engine is in it now. Shouldn't be long before this is on the road, it's in incredible condition. 14,000 original miles and a recent frame off...but was converted to a heavy track car. Not much work to put it on the street...and stuff like the updated disc brakes is nice to have I'll have better pictures soon, as it hasn't been out of hte garage in a few months and is dirty but....i imagine i'll get a little attention driving this http://homepages.udayton.edu/~mertzgea/tiger1.jpg http://homepages.udayton.edu/~mertzgea/tiger2.jpg http://homepages.udayton.edu/~mertzgea/tiger3.jpg as you can see, half of the car still has the GeeTo tiger racing theme. The other half was taken off, but i'm probably going to put the other half back on. I sorta like it It's an original tripower (high output) 4spd car with special paint code (tiger gold) and a dozen other cool options. Very rare, neat car. Have i mentioned that I'm rather thrilled with it? The twin to this car is owned by Year One. You can see it on their website pretty often...and has the opposite paint scheme. Gold on white instead of Gold on black. Occasionally...they race the two side by side for exhibitions
  10. I also had a bad experience similar to that. . . Sold a $400 double pumper chromed 750 carb The guy filed a paypal claim and got his $ back and send me back a nonchromed broken 750 carb and there's absolutely nothing i can do about it and paypal won't listen
  11. that's happened to me many times as well As I understand it, it's ebay trying to get their $$$ otherwise, people could put cheap cars on ebay under parts cars for sale Typically, parts cars aren't allowed to have titles for sale on there, or they'll want you to pay the $90 to list it as a car, rather than the 2% selling price or whatever
  12. we'd have to negotiate her value, first and hopefully you wouldn't be paying me =]
  13. 108,000 miles, auto on floor This was my mother's car at like 40,000 miles. And then my car was stolen and I have had this for the last few months (i'm ashamed to say) Anyways, only selling because I bought a car i like. Yes. You heard me... I hate this car. Why? It's purple. And kinda small. I'm tall...the two don't mix. Would make a great car for a girlfriend or daughter/sister/wife, whatever. It's comfortable, clean and well maintained (very well) Sporty little thing that runs great, gets good gas mileage and is impressively quick. I'm asking $2,200, which i think is a little steep. But the damned thing is almost new, mechanically. I could probably dig up 3,000 or 4,000 in receipts. Disturbing: I know New recently: alternator (lifetime warranty), radiator (brand new), power steering hoses, water pump, belt, head gasket, intake gasket, timing cover gasket, tires (one is 4 days old), rotors/brakes, a/c charged...probably plenty more if i think about it With the exception of rebuilding the engine (bore and new pistons), just about everything on the motor is new. All new gaskets at some point or another. Car will idle in 100 degrees with no problem. Issues car has: peeling clearcoat, one stingy power window motor, heater core (bypassed) Car is dependable as hell. I wouldn't offer it on here if i didn't think you'd buy it and be able to put a lot of miles on it dependably I'm not hurting for $. I'll trade for toys. Partial up or down. things i'd be interested in: 1. guns : pistol, rifle, shotgun? 2. go fast parts (traditional v8 stuff, MSD boxes, muncie 4spd trans, tremec TKO600, etc), any old pontiac parts or 60's muscle car stuff 3. Your 19 y.o. sister for a few nights 4. anything else a 25 y.o. male might be interested in 1,900 OBO or trade or barter or whatever, PM offers I'll get pics eventually
  14. indeed, indeed Yea, the white '66 GTO convertible Going on 3 months: no word of it Probably in Sweden by now At least i got to speak with the detective for a few moments...he might recognize the car if he sees it in the future
  15. hopefully it is...was...the current GTO the white '66 convertible that was stolen 3 months ago i'm trying to find out it's a long shot, but who knows can't seem to find anyone that cares/knows shit at the PD they all keep transferring me until i get a phone without an answering machine that noone answers
  16. baron_

    Theif!

seriously: Cops Fuckers like this won't learn without some serious repercussions
  17. that's it A buddy called and said he saw the last few seconds, after he thinks they'd already showed the rest of the vehicles he thinks he saw a nova I was hoping to find someone that had seen all of it It's a bit of hope...i suppose
  18. They found a place with stolen hotrods, 6 of them and 5 or so harley's too I'm hoping one might be my white '66 gto convertible the place they found them is 4.37 miles from my house I heard they showed video of the cars (a few, at least) Did anyone catch this? Am I lucky? The PD is giving me no information And the fella supposedly took the VIN #'s off the cars, so they cant' track them that way The impound lot isn't open until tomorrow...and i'm a few hours away
  19. the_benz hit on what i was wanting The first two, he's running. I wanted him to stop in this one and come after them, for a change. This fella explains my misgivings rather well, although he doesn't gripe about the horrible camera-play as much as I would: (warning for spoilers) http://groups.google.com/group/misc.kids/browse_thread/thread/7b7bde28991f3970/66927a8d9e73176a
  20. I loved the first two and was waiting anxiously for this one The 'shaky-cam' is out of control. It's stupid. The chase scenes and fight scenes...it's like the director is bouncing the camera on his knee. Non-stop action? Yes. Incredible fight scenes and unbelievable (almost too) chases and stunts? Sure. But they seemed pointless to me. Maybe I just hated the ending so much.... It seemed far too simple and wasn't satisfying: predictable
  21. predictable, boring....and nothing ever really happens 15 minute chase scene after 15 minute choppy chase scene for an ending that's pretty dull After the last installment...where his woman dies. I was looking for a little badass revenge...anywhere, somewhere 'Sniper' style. Without giving away a spoiler, i'll just say i was mighty disappointed
  22. Wait for it on dvd. I was pretty disappointed......kept waiting for it, waiting for it...and it never happened After watching transformers...I was rather bored with this.
  23. that sounds interesting Do you know what they charge in stock form?
  24. let me know if it comes to mind I prefer places I can drive to...give $$$ to local folks and not california fuckers
