I've never brought any car I've owned to a shop before, not even when i swapped an engine in to one of my 240s from a few years back. Suspension, maintenance, troubleshooting and electrical work all should be done in the owner's garage. However, expensive specialty builds are probably best left to someone comfortable with the work.

Are you simply trying to play the torrent file itself or are you opening the torrent in a program like µTorrent and allowing it to download the actual media file there?

I don't understand the confusion or dislike of just downloading it off of Final Gear. ...oh, and those who do download who don't seed when they're finished anger me.

I had Hawks on the Mini when I did the HPDE weekend at Mid Ohio last year. They definitely lasted just fine, but not the rotors. I recommend higher temp brake fluid as well.
