  1. “A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you're looking down, you can't see something that's above you.” -CS Lewis “No one ever choked to death swallowing his pride” “Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real” -Thomas Merton
  2. You say that like a bad thing. Seriously, how many organizations, businesses and even people remain the exact same for five years at a time? Healthy systems have a tendency to evolve. CR is great; this is just a hurdle.
  3. You know, if you guys had a mass orgy, I guarantee your problems would go away.

  5. Man, that's so meaningful to me. I may have to get the tear drop tattoos to accompany it.
  6. You mean, other people's quotes aren't important to you?
  7. Yeah. I may get a pretty sweet song lyric like this inked right under it: "You are my fire, the one desire."
  8. Both times, the respective officer who showed up told me he had 2+ other calls along Sawmill Rd for either a missing spare or doors being stolen. Could be an inside job, but I'm leaning towards it not.
  9. I'm getting this tattooed on my chest, because it means so much to me: "One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them." ...
  10. If it weren't for the side-boob, she could be mistaken for an adolescent boy.
  11. I bought Tuffy hinge locks similar to this: http://www.autotrucktoys.com/jeep/images/037.jpg Yes, I realize that it is not impossible to remove them. But you listed an $80 tool that a thief must purchase to attempt to remove a spare wheel that is not only heavy but in the middle of a busy day with hundreds of cars and people within eyesight of them. Also, I moved the Jeep to the first row of the lot for the rest of the day. At Lowe's we have a big yellow line painted across the lot that policy says we must park behind. I informed my Operations manager that I will be disobeying that until either some form of security is provided for employees' property or until some form of retribution is taken. He was cool with it and he will support me when I talk to my regional manager and Loss Prevention personnel about everything that has happened. The Jeep is the cheapest vehicle I have driven to work, yet it's cost me the most stress and money.
  12. The officer today told me a couple other Jeeps were "hit" along Sawmill road. I work at the Lowe's in Dublin. Our cameras do not reach out to the back of the lot, but it wouldn't matter, because our lot is packed all to hell with cars on the weekend. The locking nuts require a specific "key" wrench to take them off. Either the thief happens to have a rare second key-wrench or he got them off in some unfathomable way. The spare they stole is the wheel that fell off of my Jeep a couple weeks ago; I'm using the real spare right now. The holes on the stolen wheel are too fucked up to mount on to the studs correctly. If the thief tries to use it, it'll probably fall off again and hopefully kill him. Unfortunately, it'll probably be pawned and some unsuspecting buyer is going to have an unsafe wheel.
  13. So, "FML" can't even explain how I'm feeling right now. For those that don't remember, this happened a little over a month ago. It was a pain in the ass to take care of and I lost quite a lot of work hours and sleep because of it. Then, about two weeks ago, this happened. It pissed me off and I lost yet another day of work but I was safe and relieved that nothing else happened. Fast forward until today; I was getting back from lunch with a friend and I gander over at my Jeep. Notice anything missing? http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l17/mikehaze_2006/PIC_0008.jpg If you guessed correctly, my spare wheel and tire is missing. Yes, it had a locking lug nut but that did not stop the dumb fuck from taking it. I just fucking finished replacing lug nuts and doors and now this crap happens.
  14. All I have is $40, a 12 pack of Coke Zero and two and a half used condoms; can we make a deal? I REALLY want this to convert to fwd.
  15. Out of curiosity, who's paying for your higher education?
  16. I've gotten two raises at work, continue to go to school and generally have not changed much. I do not go out to eat as much (twice a week) but that is so I can save just in case anything unfortunate were to happen.
  17. Perhaps you are a bit obsessed with Vuhnilla Eyez.
  18. ...but the question is disputable. Most people would think if they are rich, they probably would be somewhat happy, so it's harder to believe that they'll be sad. I'm on a boat.
  19. I think your friend knows he would secretly be happy.
  20. Generally, if a dog is "zoned out" that's not something to take lightly. I would have taken him back right then immediately. I definitely feel for you, but it sounds like your dog had an unusual reaction to the medication and showed signs of it a couple days ago.
  21. Sounds incredibly far-fetched and still fails to entertain.
