  1. If they're pulling 272lb-ft at the wheels out of a Fiesta's 1.6 ecoboost with bolt-ons and tune I'm very much looking forward to seeing how capable the 2.3 will be!! I can see near 400lb-ft at the back tires pretty readily, it will be a contender for sure.
  2. Precisely. If I were that against something like that I wouldn't be driving the car I have. For me a Mustang should sound like a Mustang, and that's a deep loud V8, just my preference. I fully expect it will be a good car with that engine, I really like the little Ecoboost in mine.
  3. Agreed, plus the potential the car will have in the aftermarket will be great. Cobb pulled 272 lb/ft out of a Fiesta ST's 1.6 with bolt-ons so I'm looking forward to seeing what the 2.3 Ecoboost will be capable of. Also it will be the lightest model with best weight distribution. Still, don't know if I could drive a "Mustang" that sounds like that.
  4. No matter what you do to it, it will never sound right to me at least. I'm waiting to see if they do another Mach 1 or the like as the V8 is the only way to go for me.
  5. http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/future-cars/2015-ford-mustang-by-the-numbers?src=soc_fcbks Official HP and weight numbers released!!
  6. Popular thinking is this will be powered by the "Voodoo" engine, TT 5.0 most likely. Anyone seen an confirmation on wether the Trinity will be in this chassis? Last I read the 5.8 won't fit in the engine bay of the S550 chassis.
  7. I never meant myself not driving, just 90% of the other people on the road. You know, the ones that changes lanes without looking, the ones that fly up , cut in front of you only to come to a stop at a light etc....everyone drives "me first" and on a race track I expect that, that's the point but not on the road when you put someone else in danger.
  8. Agreed, with over 550,000 miles behind the wheel of a truck and having to deal with morons constantly I actually can't wait until cars drive themselves and take these idiots out of the equation so long as we still have our cars and tracks to take them to.
  9. While these devices have their uses and purpose personally I consider them dangerous. They breed laziness as people know they can depend on them to help, it allows them to focus more on everything but driving. Education is more of whats needed to improve safety on the road, people have lost respect for road and consider driving a right, its not. If you like them go for it, at least they should help protect others from harm. BTW, Bill, none of this is directed at you personally of course.
  10. Yeah, the dash cams actually can help a driver be able to legally defend himself from morons, they also catch them screwing up as well so very much a double edged sword. I can tell you C.R. England trucks are ALL equipped with dash cam systems and is tied to the satellite system and in an accident it records every ounce of relevant data when an event happens, guess I don't blame them in some ways as it protects them. The new Vettes have that dash cam option for recording track runs and such, can't help but wonder if that could be used somehow in a crash situation or at least activated remotely?
  11. Any idea how much of this tech they're taking from the heavy truck industry? Having been in the field 10 years now their systems have vastly more capacity and capability to track every sensor on the trucks and now a lot of them are using dash mounted camera systems for lane keeping/following etc. I had to field a few calls to safety for following too close or having to jamb on the brakes hard or the roll/yaw sensors exceeding safety thresholds. Only a matter of time before the boxes in our cars have the same capacity.
  12. My Fiesta already has the 911 assist feature, which I believe gives the info of location and wether air bags have deployed, would probably just take a software update to add these and other features.
  13. Hmm, I was talking to Frank Stoddard there a few weeks ago when they got theirs for R&D, he wouldn't say much of anything about it but he seemed to lack the enthusiasm I expected, maybe this is why??
  14. Here's all 6 on the trailer filthy from winter testing in Detroit: http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq10/MrAutoX/1956899_643034275762369_1487167998_o.jpg
  15. I took these a month or so back on their way into the proving grounds in Phoenix from Detroit testing: The 15" 6-pots on the performance pack, mind you that fills up the entire 19" wheel!! http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq10/MrAutoX/1978563_643034405762356_1301747492_o.jpg The pumpkin, it's pretty big and was labeled with an 8.8 sticker, probably uses the same ring gears. http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq10/MrAutoX/1921085_643034272429036_1722900301_o.jpg The aluminum rear control arms, not a great design borrowed from the Fusion but better than the cast iron slug. http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq10/MrAutoX/1796836_643034409095689_1392526642_o.jpg
  16. Having seen several in person now they look substantially wider than the current car, almost wide body like, and I love it. The IRS looks beefy as well as the rear end is still an 8.8 but independent of course, the pumpkin is huge and looks like it should handle the fun stuff(still won't be a solid axle I know). Can't want to drive one.
  17. Miss that track, so much fun but watching your video is tough with that traffic. Not trying to hate on your fellow club members but do they not know how to pass/allow others to pass? Or were the passing zones really restricted for some reason?? There are ample places to pass on VIR. That fresh asphalt sure looks nice, it wasn't a bad surface when I was on it a few years ago but that new stuff looks like butter!! The Esses are a blast, one of the tougher parts I found was the blind left after the Esses as your really carrying some speed and you just have to trust it as if you do it wrong the guardrail is not far from the outside edge of the track(see youtube for all the wrecks there), the marker I used for it was "Oak tree" but with that not being there.......
  18. Mclaren MP4-12C. Faster than most anything mentioned, uber tech on it(but don't quote me on the stereo), Dual clutch, stability system makes you in to Randy Pobst, no back seat but who cares when you can rape 90% of whats on the street and track. Con: Reliability is questionable from what I've been told.
  19. Thank you. I have 4 Pitbulls in my backyard right now and they're all big babies that only want to lick your face to death. It's ignorant owners that allow their untrained pets to roam free that are dangerous. The owner should be put down just as well to make an example of, you shouldn't have pets if you don't mind them.
  20. Great to see this finally happening!!
  21. Being in Phoenix it's not wanted. Grew up on DSM's, doesn't bother me and this thing is very tail happy. I don't want to hurt your feelings but if you insist....:lolguy: Nice!! Already done a bit of this in the car, it really likes to swing its tail around for a fwd car. Not a chance I've forgotten. Your welcome to drive it but it will be tight, the Recaros are snog for me on the thighs, seat back bear hugs me but it comfy. It is, was talking to Jack Baruth(R&T magazine) and he said the best way to drive the ST is fly into a corner WAY too fast, jam on brakes, turn in, and and hang on, it will bring you through!!:fuckyeah:
  22. Congrats, just drove the Italia myself a few weeks ago there. Wanted to try the Superleggera as well but I'm too tall to wear a helmet in that car. Fun stuff for sure.
  23. The roof was the one option I wouldn't tolerate of the 4 on my car. It has Navi which I could do without but oh well, I just didn't want the damn roof. I have to admit the tech in this car is great. Just plug in my iphone and viola it's all on my navi screen controlled though the steering wheel buttons and voice commands. I can even run my climate control thru voice command and such. Bluetooth is gravy to use also. Never had any of this stuff before.
  24. Lol, it was distracting and you can see it cause me to miss a shift or braking point a couple times. After lap 2-3 he could have not said anything but I imagine he's required to.
