We jumped at 11,500, poor little Cessna 182 struggled to climb with 4 big guys on it lol, my instructor broke off at 5500 so I waved off and pulled. 1st jump was from 13,000 which certainly helps. My AFF1 went better but my 1 instructor was 250lbs and the other 220lbs so it was much easier for them and we got off to a better start. With 3 big bodies you fall like a freight train!! Going to do some tunnel work and then jumps 3 and 4 in 2 weeks.

It looks worse than it was for sure, but its part of the learning process too is making these mistakes and its better to make them now than once I'm solo.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! We went over it in detail even before watching the video, I have a good awareness and thus recall of how it went down and could have been more specific but its not necessary. It's important to be aware, most importantly altitude aware, I'm doing well at that part, when the 2nd instructor lets go you can see me check altitude real quick and then pull. I figure its a good thing, my life depends on it!!:megusta:

Here's the video from my Accelerated Free Fall jump #2. This overall was not a good jump. Plane exit was fine, canopy flight fine, landing fine, free fall was a mess however. My 1 instructor never got set as he just was too light compared to me and had to let go early, my primary instructor held on but we never got stable at all with my bad posture and body control in my practice pulls and never got the turns right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjYkdJ1stEY&feature=youtu.be

I'm thinking about this time next year I will be trading in the ST for one of these, probably a Deep Impact Blue, performance pack w/Recaro's, $37k for just that though.....

^That's assuming you make it in the water without running into some idiot trying to land while sinking their car and they tie off with their bow bouncing off of your outboard(Had both at Alum)!!
-
My dad would do Dillon and others more if they were closer. We still prefer Erie but a weekend up there can get expensive. He wants a kicker so he can go to Hoover but again $$$. Alum is nearly impossible to fish save for early am weekdays with all the morons on that lake most of the time.

Yep, I made it back just fine albeit a few bruises from my rough landing and then being dragged a bit by the chute due to the wind.

The "AFF" Accelerated Free Fall program starts at $365 for the 1st jump. This includes several hours of classroom instruction, all the gear, plane, and the 2 dive masters that accompany you on the jump. Subsequent jumps progress down in price as the classroom is not needed and eventually you move to just 1 instructor. Tandem jumps are $145. http://www.skydivephoenix.net

It's definitely a lot tougher than a tandem but I had no choice as tandem has weight limitations and I exceed them.:fuuuu:

I plan to on the next trip, was focused on class and things this weekend, especially with the wind. They grounded the aircraft after we got back because of it today, hopefully it's less windy next time.

I will get full pics/vids on my 3rd jump in 2 weeks.

Made it back ok!! What a fucking rush! Despite some rough high winds I managed to make it down without getting hurt at all, am a little sore right now though. I botched the exit from the plane sending us into a pretty bad spin at first but my jump instructors got me settled down in a few secs. Being 3 big bodies we were absolutely hauling ass in free fall, their best guess was near 140mph. By the time I got through my procedures we were already at 6500ft, I pulled my chute just above 6,000 and got a great deployment. Once my chute was out though I did my checks and was on my way. Although my chest strap rode up almost in my face restricting me from looking down much which was spooky as I couldn't find the DZ right away and the winds were really carrying me west in a hurry. I got oriented and started executing turns and worked my way to the DZ. I nailed the placement landing on the outer edge but didn't do a great landing itself in I landed flat footed taking them underneath me and going face first into the dirt. Then immediately my chute redeployed in the wind and started dragging me before I could pull it down with my toggle. All in all that was the craziest thing I have ever done, the sensation of speed is unparalleled and then the enjoyment of the cruise down under the chute. Definitely a must try for anyone. With the high winds and my needing to focus on procedure we decided not to video today, but will on the next jump. Jumps #2 and #3 in 2 weeks!

Yeah, that's static line and I believe they do that at much lower altitude. I'd try tandem first but ogre. Because racecar!! Thanks for the tip. I read that a lot of rookies break ankles and such being too tense when they come in wrong.
-
Without real free fall? I'll be free falling for about 50secs with just 2 instructors holding onto my harness.
-
I guess if I'm going to go this isn't too bad of a way to go, quick and while having fun!
-
^Lmao, it's an extreme sport so there will always be risks though I'm far more likely to die in a car crash on the way there. Then theres the guy a couple weeks ago that had that seizure in midair down here, scary stuff for sure.

I've always wanted to skydive, and after jumping off the Stratosphere in Vegas last year it really got me itching to finally do it. I'm making my first jump tomorrow via and Accelerated Freefall Program, I can't go tandem because of my size so I have to go this route in which I jump with 2 jump masters and then descend solo on my chute. Anyone else here gone before either tandem or solo? Tips for a 1st timer?? Looking forward to finally trying this!

Only problem there is Dillon is a LOT further out to drive to from Cbus, proximity is the main reason my dad and a lot of others fish Suckeye. Soon enough they may not have a choice though. My dad wants to fish Hoover a lot more but getting any distance on that lake is slow going on a trolling motor unless you already have a kicker, wish they would at least bring up the hp limit to 50 for the lake.
-
Buckeye will never be anything but muck, it has no natural water flow. Its only feed is essentially runoff, mostly from farms nearby hence all the issues with the water. I guess it would be a shame to see it go because it is what little economy exists out there.

I've noticed Ford is really differentiating the trim levels. The new Mustang made this apparent to me after riding in a base V6 and then Premium V8, quite a bit better materials in key places.
-
It's certainly possible, my landlord bought his GTO just as they had been discontinued and the dealer was desperate to get rid of them, got into it for $8k under sticker.

I'd heard something about this years back but never knew what it was. I also wasn't trying to apologize for him as I don't know the details of what went down. I do know him personally and he's a great guy, just my opinion but I don't think he would have pulled a gun unless he felt quite threatened but who knows. He's a great guy, used to hang with him at autocross all the time and enjoyed the hell out of his commentary and enjoy his writing now.
-
P1 has power but needs more driver considering the Vette driver catches up in the corners.
-
Lol, he's pretty harmless like most. I've been out of my car more than a few times to chat with folks, though never pulled a gun. Have you ever seen some of the shit people say to these journalists online? I'd be packing some serious heat if I was one.....
