Even though the A4 1.8T Quattro is incredibly slow, I would take it over a G35 sedan any day of the week. Much better looking, interior, AWD etc. You would obviously be giving up big on acceleration and rear seat space. Also, the G35's are pretty hard to get with a manual.

thanks for all of the replies guys. I know I am not alone, but like many of you it pisses me off to think about it. I know he wont change, and that is the worst part. He is dragging my parents down too, more so emotionally than financially, but they aren't exactly swimming in money and have very little retirement and are giving him money to help out which sets them back from their goals. He just got a job with my other brother, so I will give him some time to get things back in order. If he screws this job up I am going to have a big decision to make on if I want to risk our relationship to say what needs to be said.

I agree, if he was working towards ANYTHING, I would feel completely different. He has no work ethic, no drive and doesn't care about anything.

He has rendered me speechless as of late. His actions have so regularly been dumbfounding that I no longer have any sympathy for him, I no longer want to help him, and I no longer respect what he says.

I know, it really sucks man. I want to feel bad for him, but he makes nothing but bad decisions and does NOT take advice. He doesn't think anything through, and doesn't care about the fallout of any of his actions, even if they are hurting his family.

So one of my brothers has slowly become someone that I relate to less and less. I find myself not wanting to be around him or even see him. He has been fired from his last 4 bartending jobs for performance/attendance related issues. He has been unemployed for over 2 months and has been getting help to pay bills from my parents. I got him a part time job at DSW and he kept not returning their phone calls, and then got another job yesterday and called in to DSW saying he couldn't work for them anymore. He is irresponsible, he doesn't respect anyone, friend or family, and has been really pissing me off lately. I know this is a retarded post, but I have been so incredibly pissed off at him for the past few weeks that I had to write this.

Land rovers are notorious for having very high maint/operating costs. They are not very reliable, and should be bought with caution. With that said, the above statements (while not untrue) are the same ones posted in ANY German car thread. (gearhead proves my point in perfect fashion) Do with that what you will. Can't say I would buy one as a daily, but I would buy one as an offroad toy.
