Ford has been pushing the Ecoboost HARD and this is just another one of their ridiculous marketing schemes. They try to hide the bias because its set up by Automobile and Motor Trend Mag guys. It pits the Ecoboost MKS vs a BMW 550, Mercedes E550, Jag XF(5.0 n/a) and Maserati Quattroporte. Its supposed to show that the Ecoboost has the power of the V8 with the gas mileage of the V6. Essentially trying to bring to light how great turbocharging and direct injection are together. They do the test at 12,000 feet elevation lol, and guess what car is the ONLY one with F/I. You guessed it, the MKS. At 5k feet, a N/A engine produces 80% of peak power, imagine what 12k feet is like. F/I lessens the power loss significantly, but not entirely. This test is laughable. You also think that the automatic they used, which they limited engine power for because it couldn't handle what they wanted to give the SHO will be reliable? Remember the car weighs 4300lbs, thats mega heavy for a weak tranny. The new Taurus is a nice car, way too big on the outside for how big it is on the in side, and way too expensive. With that said, the car will very easily be in the 11's. Throw on some downpipes, full exhaust, charge pipes etc a retune and some lightweight wheels, and your there. Exactly

X1000000000 It is absolutely the best flavor ever. A good hot flavor that actually tastes good is Buckeye bbq. Suicide and bbq mixed together. I like it for about 2-6 wings then its too much for me.

With that said, I have been looking at FC LS1 swaps, and Volvo's with 03/04 cobra engines and or LSX's. In theory I would love one of those, but I will most likely do a Gen 1/2 SHO with built 3.2 and turbo, or a MKIV R32 stripped for track days.

Shanton, there is something to say for being unique. Not everyone wants to have a Mustang, Camaro or Corvette. And anyone that buys a new GTI, new Civic Si, new R32, new Mini cooper etc could have afforded ANY of the cars I just mentioned, and easily been in the 400+hp range. But not everyone values the same thing.
