I do understand that they have a general stigma, however I can only base my opinion on my families experience with them. We have over 170k miles on 8 Audi's and VW's since 2000. My point is that with a warranty as good as Audi provides in the certified used segment; an additional 2/50 to the 4/50 btb warranty making it a 6/100k warranty, your argument is pretty weak. Thats all I am saying.

Hell yeah, I miss my A4 badly in the winter. According to my sources, the 928 S4 weighs about 3600lbs, and the formula weighs about 3300lbs.

What the fuck are you even talking about? Call you when I get what? an S6? an Audi? I have had extensive seat time in a B5 S4 stg 2, a B6 S4 and I owned a B7 A4 Quattro. They are quality cars, at good prices in the used market. Completely writing off all German cars because of potential repair costs after the car has 100k miles is ridiculous. There is a reason that almost every car at the top of EVERY class is a German car.

Right........CPO is 6 years 100k miles. Get a C6 S6 (2007+) with the Lambo V10. Certified warranty, great sound, amazing car.

The A6's don't have the turbo failures that the S4's did because the engine bay is much larger and allows for better cooling. With that said, it still won't have any warranty, and will require more maint (synthetic oil, more expensive filters timing belt service if it wasn't done already etc). I would look into the A4 range for that price, and the GTI/GLI from VW. With any used car, you should expect to have to take care of a few things (change all of the fluids, plugs, filters etc) to get it 100%, and should have a few bucks tucked away for some repairs. No German car will have Honda reliability, but my wife and I's last 3 VW's (bought new though) have 33k miles with 0 service visits.

Obviously buying winter tires, summer wheels and tires will be about 3x more expensive than just buying all seasons. If she is content with the stockers, any quality tire will be fine. Me however, I will be doing stock with winters, and lightweight wheel/performance tire in the summer when my stock contis wear out. I would go for the VMR RS4 reps in 19" and some coilovers.

How would it work making it AWD? Would it be possible with custom adapters? Would it be easier to make it RWD?
