  1. Sounds like a bunch of slack-jawed faggots. Just the kind of oxygen thiefs that loiter in the left lane, then you go to pass and OMG NOT TODAY put the hammer down for 3 seconds to swing their e-dick.

Driver engagement has been hijacked by magazine times (not just straight line but “ring” times also). You’re left with only a few small cars offering pure driving dynamics and they’re handicapped with 4 cylinders. Anything with any power is relegated to an auto, 4000lbs or an unobtainable price point. That’s why used car values are through the roof and will only get worse.

    Sad

  2. Wrong.

They won't get the 0-60 times out of a RWD front engined sedan to swing the old fat luxury sedan buyers away from the 0-60 times of the AWD monsters. They also won't sell well because straight RWD is scary and can't drive in winter (taters) and the awd cars have rwd drift mode for that one time to impress their friends...

  3. If Chevrolet can price the C8 Corvette at less than $60k, then come the fuck on Cadillac and price the CT4 Blackwing less than $50k, or you’ll simply not sell that many of these.

Major props to Caddy for coming out with two global heavy-hitter sedans with sticks in a marketplace bereft of the option. Will be really interesting to see what the take-rate is.

I agree, but it’ll be low because Cadillac and the price. Buyers in the “luxury fast sedan” market are looking for 0-60 times achieved by AWD forced induction and automatics.

  4. I expected a comment from you ;). Dont you drive an F-150 now?

And yes, I downsized ( or downgraded as you might say) to 2 cars from 3. The BRZ and A3 are gone and replaced with a Sepang Blue MK3 TT-S.

Oh wow, that's quite the shake up! You doing less track days now, or is the TTS getting all that duty as well? How are you liking it?

It's all coming together now, you've gone full autotard...

Yes, daily drive a Max Tow 3.5 crew 6.5 F150. I, however didn't lower it, put a power adder on it, and spend a small fortune modifying it in other ways.

With that said, I have 2 mustangs in manual and my wife has an AWD sportwagen in manual.

  5. It's a fair suggestion, and one I've considered but I have 2 issues.

1 - I've never been a ford fan even though their trucks are obviously very good

2 - Everyone I know who's towed extensively with an ecoboost has had to put a motor in them. One is either a 18 or 19 that needed a shortblock at like 3500 miles and the most he ever towed was like 4500lbs.

Has ford addressed the reliability issues?

I've not known anyone personally with issues, but the forums do seem to show some timing component issues on folks who wait until the display tells them to change the oil vs 3-5k changes.

Mine is a Max Tow crew 6.5 bed 4x4 3.5TT 10 speed. Specs show 12,900 towing.

Everyone focuses on the fact that the gas mileage isn't much if any better than the v8s, but the missed message is what Chandler stated. The torque and resulting effortless way it goes about towing. It's a step above.

  6. That, makes a lot of sense. I guess I am just frustrated by the ohio "rust free" tax.

I tell you what has caught my eye lately - the '99-02 NA cobras. Terminator cobra look and IRS without the terminator price tag. The stink of ford under-delivering on 302 hp seems to have lingered and they aren't much more than a regular new edge GT.

IMO, the 99/01 Cobra is a good buy. While they don't have the same hood/bumpers as the 03/04 cobra it's a much better overall car without all that weight up front.

Honestly the 96-98 Cobras are the sweet spot IMO. Even cheaper, and since you'll probably need to rebuild the 99/01 cobra IRS anyway, might as well just buy one and swap it into the 96-98 cars. I like their styling better anyway. You do get better heads on the 99/01 though.
