  1. I tend to agree with Grant. They would come in handy for brakes/suspension/tire rotations/winter wheel swaps and minor under car repairs though. If it makes sense to you, I'd think the first one seems a better design, but I don't know much about this stuff.

    New ride

LOL, um... certainly doesn't look like a Focus ST...
  3. on the first page :fuuuu: :fa:
  4. keep in mind, the one we would get, is the next generation Focus RS
  5. EVEN those would be better than regular A/S tires
  6. VW wised up and started offering summer tires as an option again like on the early MK5 cars. And wouldn't you know it, their numbers are pretty impressive again. (not claiming MK7 isn't great, but summer tires, even bad ones, are so much better than A/S)
  7. Oh, and kudos to an all new car, for beating the GTI by 2 points, which was in the subjective "fun to drive" category. Big achievement there
  8. LOL, easy sensitive pants. Typical reply to a conversation like this. Completely disregarding the actual topic at hand. I was only talking about straight line performance, as shown here: And I threw out some 14.9s for the Focus ST as well. I tried to get numbers that were indicative of the average, which they are. All I said was that it under performs based on its hp/tq ratings, and it does. Similar weights, and it takes 52hp and 63tq to match (barely?) the MK6 GTI. If you want to talk about handling, sure, I'll give that to the ST, absolutely. I don't have a problem admitting a car's faults. One thing to think about, when analyzing the VW products, is they are on All Season tires. This is going to kill braking figures, handling figures, and potential "sharpness" of the cars. VW chose to do this (on the R too, amazingly) and their results are poor because of it. PS: You Mad.
  9. S4 seems perfect then? CPO one for 40k. 3.0T, DSG, 4 doors, sport differential. low 13s stock, low 12s with basic mods.
  10. They won't, 100%, and it'll be sedan only in US.
  11. Focus ST: 252hp 270tq 14.6@95.9mph (Motor Trend) 14.7@96.5mph (Motor Trend) 14.8@95mph (C&D) MK6 GTI 200hp 207tq 14.5@97.1 (Motor Trend) 14.7@96mph (C&D) 14.8@96mph (C&D)
  12. I was being serious, but whatevs.
  13. :dumb: Join the 21st century. FRS is 26k (151tq lol) WRX is 27k base now. GTI with sport pack is 27k. (FWD LOL) A 228 with sports pack is 35k, a 235i with sport pack is 45k. STI, Evo, Golf Rs are 35k. Mustang with Track pack is 35k Camaro 1LE is 38k Any car worth a damn is going to be 25-40k...
  14. I hope they at least do a new engine in the STI.
  15. You are only about 10k off. :lolguy: 34k with not all options clicked...
  16. Thanks, I will. If it's anything like the ST, it'll under perform for its on paper hp/tq.
  17. I hope it does get AWD, it'll be the only way it's relevant in today's performance culture in the states, IMO. I agree about the boy racer looks both inside and out. I actually think it leads the pack (evo/sti/golf r) in that category, which isn't good. I should say, I still really like the exterior of them. Almost zero chance of a dual clutch, don't think they have anything that can hold the power.
  18. This will have the specs to match up against the Evo X (last MY is 15 though), STI, and MK7 Golf R. Expect a price to match as well. 35-40k I'd think. I haven't read the article, but AWD hadn't been confirmed yet, just rumored. If it comes with AWD, it'll be a great addition to the group. If they leave it out, it'll be another "oh look, an RS" then quickly forgotten. Oh, and if it is anything like the focus ST, it'll make big numbers in hp/tq, handle well, but ultimately be no faster than the competition. Hope it comes, competition is good!
  19. regarded as a great car, with a horrible transmission the v60 polestar is bad ass, too bad about the trans.
  20. I'd be shocked if it was here then. I bet 2016 as a 17. Also, unless awd, who cares...
  21. I understand that completely. The A6 hasn't been mentioned, and they are great cars. 3.0T (supercharged) A6 are great cars, and would be my choice over the comparable E/5/XF. Good luck!
  22. CTS V is probably mid teens, A4, should average 10 more easily. A4 should do over 30 at 70mph. JB, you say people can't follow the thread, but then you yourself can't either. Ask for daily car that you don't care about speed, and want good, lower maint, with good MPG... and are now considering a 4200lb RWD, sports sedan, that'll eat gas, tires, brakes two fold over a "normal" luxury sedan.
