Dyno tunes are WAY better, no question. You need to get your problem fixed first though. Invest in a wideband and a tactrix cable. Then you can drive around and log the event when it happens. Then you should be able to pinpoint the problem.

Why are you running a MAFT also? edit: I somehow missed your mods in the original post. I see them now My car was running a MAFT setup when I got it, and its not worth the hassle. My advise would be switch back to a factory MAF. Which I also have one sitting in my garage, with an intake. Get a Tactrix cable. Throw in a factory tune, then contact someone like Dynoflash, Mellon, or TTP-engineering, who can get you a good email tune that you can flash the ECU with. If you can make it to Cambridge I can throw the stuff in for you and put the factory flash in it. The MAFT is 99% your problem, and your car has NO need to have one

Do you have a tactrix cable. Have you done any logs, or know what your fuel trims look like? If you dont have a tactrix cable, I got one I'll sell ya, because I am on AEM now.

Yeh that sucks. I don't have anything against anyone from different nationalities, but if you are teaching higher education in the United States you should damn well have a grip on the English language. I had a Differential Equations class (the class after Calc4) and the teacher spoke mainly German and the TA was basically a translator. It defidently made things WAY harder.

Why wouldnt they have performed the test with the concrete wall straight, instead of at an angle. The way they had it set up a lot of the energy was allowed to transfer laterally, somewhat reducing the impact.
