  1. This really depends on the degree and the nature of your job. My last gig in Cleveland was designing the thing, programming it, then going on-site to test and bug-squish. I'm also pretty sure they won't let just any old electrician into the ops center of a transmission grid ISO, either. My current job, well... Mensan knows how I'm feelin' these days
  2. 160's still waiting for a home... $20/ea or $60 for all four
  3. Would like to clear this piece out before winter. It's in decent shape, with two small bottom side trim pieces off (I have them both, just too lazy to glue them back on). The television opening is 28" wide by 24.5" tall, overall dimensions are 59.5" wide, 52.5" high, 19.5" deep. There's a cardboard backing to the whole thing, with a hole for large CRT screens. Casters wheel freely. Asking $60, you'll need a pick-up or small U-Haul to get this, my little Civic can't put the seats down Television, DVD, VCR, and PS2 not included. http://bbhhs96.dyndns.org/~czakelj/images/imag0001.jpg http://bbhhs96.dyndns.org/~czakelj/images/imag0002.jpg

    Wind...

Power's been out for about an hour now. Batteries holding up well, but I'm just pissed because I was expecting to make a nice dinner, and now it looks like I'll be stuck with egg salad sandwich, some tuna, and a couple of pickles
  5. There may be a bump because the stuff is still 15% standard gasoline, but anybody who does spike it had better be able to show their receipts from the wholesalers. And please, people, don't put the stuff in your cars unless they're equipped for it.
  6. No Edit: Tomorrow would be a good time to go grocery shopping if you don't already have a week's worth of stores already.
  7. You want old school, try this on for size... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5Pb0BdT8Qo
  8. And that is why you fill up a day or two before the storm hits. I may be shoving it up Dick Cheney's every time I get gas, but you still have to be smart enough to plan ahead.
  9. The UAW also wanted more, went on strike, and look where they are now. I'm sorry, but it's hard for me to feel sympathetic to people being guaranteed 4% annual raises and a signing bonus when there's no clue how the economy is going to be next month, let alone three years from now. We are on the brink, people, if not floating in that split-second before plummeting to the canyon floor below.
  10. Bennet is not just some "random" blogger... Laird, while not quite as "pedigree," spends his life in the metals commodities, and you'll find his commentary on Kitco, Gold-Eagle, FinancialSense, and TheBulliondesk, with an occasional mention in Newsweek. He is a commentator, rather than an advisor like Sedacca, and thus is more free to "call it as he sees it."
  11. Dead Men Walking Credit Crisis II I do this not because I want to scare anyone, but because we are living in dangerous times. Remember, the last time we had an industrialized nation burning cash, over 12M people died. What happens when, say, China is left holding billions in worthless money?

  13. Sorry guys, don't have a 19V in the parts bin.
  14. Take a look at the bottom and let me know what the DC voltage, amps, and positive/negative configuration is. I've got a couple of old power blocks that might work.
  15. Pirate Bay for the whole thing, or drop by with an 8G USB stick or external hard drive If you go PB, be sure to grab the HD Korean feed that's just under 5G. The one that says it's HD from China (Hong Kong) is actually pretty crappy. The BBC version is reported to be decent quality but small, and NBC... well... they deserve to be taken out back and put out of our misery. Stupid commentary the entire friggin' night. If you want just the torch lighting, I'm sure that's on YouTube.
  16. I liked it, but I still think Barcelona's lighting was better. The first half (everything before the parade) kicked ass.

  18. Nothing beats actual classroom instruction. If nothing else, take a quarter or two through Ohio State's Continuing Ed program (http://www.continuinged.ohio-state.edu/CED_noncreditLang.html) before going pure computer.
  19. At least they didn't try to feed you Nutraloaf
  20. Jackin' off while my samba server initializes its new 5 terabyte RAID-5 array. I'll pm you my number/address/directions.
  21. Got a (supposedly) 450W OEM supply you can have for free if you come get it. Hard/Sawmill area.
  22. And watch the apartment complex lay into TW for cutting wires that aren't theirs. The cable company only owns the wires up to the lock box. From the lock box into the residence/apartment are the property of the homeowner/landlord. The same demarcation exists for telephone (at the gray NID box) and electricity (the meter).
