  1. 2009 Bmw 535xi wagon

    auto trans

    120,xxx miles

Cold weather and premium package car including Pano roof, leather, nav, heated seats and steering wheel

The vehicle has been serviced well and did have a minor accident prior to my ownership as seen on the carfax here: https://www.carfaxonline.com/cfm/Display_Dealer_Report.cfm?partner=VAU_0&UID=C536330&vin=WBAPT735X9CX02406

About 500 miles ago the oil was changed along with vanos and camshaft sensors were replaced and everything in life was well.

Recently the car has Thrown a CEL again with code P0012 ( Vanos/Timing)

I dont drive the car very often and dont want to mess with it any longer.

For a reference , Kbb puts it at about $9,000 with all the options it has.

Car will come with factory wheels and winter tires with TPMS sensors coded to the car at a price of

    $5000

I can also include a set of BMW F10 ( 2010+ 5 series) wheels with I believe they are all season tires as well for a additional cost.

Im hoping at this price point someone has some room to fix it and either get a good deal or could maybe flip it for a little $$. I am not sure what it actually needs a this point to be 100% again and don't intend to put anymore time/effort into it.

The keyfobs also dontlock or unlock the car any longer ( could be a dead battery internal to the fob or again IDK) And the valve cover gasket needs replaced.

I need to wash it and will take pics probably monday or tuesday when the weather will be better and will post them up

  2. I can’t find any leaks. I can’t take the smell in the cab. If I by pass the heater core the air conditioning still works doesn’t it?

    Yes

You really need to actually diag where it is coming from before bypassing things and not solving your problem

  3. About the same for me. I grew up on Shanahan rd about 1/4 mile from the tracks. Honestly you get used to the trains and don't notice them.

On another note I bought my house last June. Last time I checked Zillow estimated it to be worth double what I paid (I know they are inaccurate, houses around me are selling for more than Zillow estimates though). If we can find something, I have been considering selling for something bigger.

Wait it out , if you sell now without a exchange you will get hit hard on capitol gains

  4. I don’t like the tires that came with the Pilot I just bought. After I get new tires are there any places that will buy my old ones? Don’t want to post on market place or anything like that.

Most places won’t because of liability , used tires stores MIGHT but expect to get next to nothing for them

Why not post them here ?

  5. I'm thinking they're using a VIN lookup that only shows USDM/North American vehicles. Try asking your insurance agent to run it.

I can also ask around at work tomorrow as I work at an insurer.

    This !!

I can almost all but guarantee they are searching a vin in the system which won’t show up for a international vehicle that was imported outside the manufacture to the states.

  6. I think the general consensus was always for atsv money you can get a ctsv with better performance.

Now if they would have dropped a v8 into the atsv instead I could see it being way more appealing

Ctsv being able to fit adults better and still outrun the atsv for me makes the choice very easy

  7. I test drove a 2018 Silverado today. It had a lot of rust on the frame you could see when looking into the wheel wells. That’s not normal is it? It had 39,000 miles on it.

Depends was it a previous Canadian truck ??

  8. Newer ones don’t have the abs issues the older ones did . I would only look at the diesel given other trucks in the same price range as the gasser.

With that said however best for drive the ram and the other American trucks to see what you like . Between Toyota , Nissan, Ford , Ram, GM you can find very similar specs for a ballpark of the same price so it really is going to come down to what you like the most and what fits your budget
