The car's a 185bhp fwd turbocharged 5 spd with the annoying tenancy for understeer. No performance mods - unless you count the broken hood emblem as a weight reduction . I'm signing up for the driver's school as well as test and tune II. Tomorrow, I'm off to find a race helmet. Look forward to meeting you all!

My mom and I went to byers subaru a few years back. We were considering a WRX wagon for her. We got the same story about how a 50 yr old woman couldn't be trusted in a vehicle with that kind of "power." Also, their sales department is all about pressuring clients. Talk about obnoxious. I just looked into registering and I see two test and tune days. Should I go to both test days and the driver's school or could I skip one of the test days? The site wants to know my car's class as well. Anybody know which class a 185bhp saab 9-3 would be in? I realize that I'm just pouring questions out, thanks for your patience with me

I attended three AutoX events last year and it looked like a great afternoon of fun. Now seems like a good time to get started since the driver's school and tune sessions are coming up. What's my first step toward lining up in the grid? I've got experince working on cars, but little knowledge about AutoX-ing them. Should I register for all three of the beginner events? I'm 17 and drive a Saab 9-3 turbo. Sounds like I need to get some minor waviers signed by my parents before I show up. Hope to see you guys out there. funny to see this thread today. I was on gemini last night around 9:30 (between the river and polaris) when this dude just flew out onto the road about a two blocks infront of me. He was being followed by three police cars. The very last of the police cars did a very nice drift/burnout. Wonder who they were after? Any of you?

I intentionally leave my network open for people like you. If I were to notice a large drop in speed, I'd probably close it up. Since I dont use all the bandwith that I pay for, it makes me feel good giving away the extra (plus I love finding open networks when I'm away from home). Link into it! I've noticed a buttload of cops between the Lane Ave and North Broadway exits while driving north on 315 in the afternoons. It seems to be a 'speed trap' where one cop (further south) measures speeds and then a team of motorcycle cops (near the Northbroadway exit) pulls people over. Just a heads-up.

Hi, I work at a Saab repair place (internship kinda thing). On Monday, I'll ask the mechanics what they know. What I do know is that GM engines are modified heavily (and sometimes not for the better) before going into Saabs. ex: the 2.5 litre Cadillac Catera engine, which is usually fast, was detuned and fittings were made smaller before being placed in the 00-02 9-5 where it drives like crap. However, on the positive side, so many Saab parts are GM branded, that with enough effort, a match could likely be made. PS: The only non Saab GM car I know of with the 2.8 is the low-end Cadillac CTS.

What is up guys, this is my first post so I expect a free T-shirt or atleast a "welcome" to the boards My name is Ed by the way. I am headed over to spectate too (with belv, the person that started this post ). Hopefully, I will be participating by the end of this season or the start of the next. I do not know if a front wheel drive Saab 9-3 turbo is the best SCCA Autocross car though. Haha! Which of you guys are racing tomorrow? I would like to have a few cars or drivers to watch for.
