  1. Janzen, I like the idea, but I prefer logos with horizontal text. As so: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v173/hot_wire/Untitled-2.jpg
  2. I'm out here right now. Woooooah its a hot one. Good meeting you mrautox. My best run was a 53... not too bad Chief. You suck. End of story
  3. Pat, I'm not doing anything else worthwhile tonight. Lets roll out there. Forget waiting for Sean and Janzen. We autocrossers rule the world.
  4. Forecast is calling for 94 degrees and sun. Atleast the tires will hook!
  5. This thread is mislabeled. That's no grandma's car. It's a pimp mobile! Infact, I think Skold's rims would be quite appropriate ON the car
  6. From the picture it appears that the owner ran out of spare tires. Being the smart person that she was, she put her only spare in the front so that she could maintain traction. +1 for drivers of wrecked hondas!
  7. The lots are right HERE I hope you show up. I love FD's. There's an LSx powered FD that races out here. Meaaaan car.
  8. hahaha the saab-aru? Thats the 9-2x wagon. Dirt cheap if you look around hard enough. Only problem is nobody wants to work on a 9-2x. The Subaru dealers say its not their problem since its not their car, and the Saab dealers won't work on it because they've never seen an engine like that!
  9. Mine's an 01. hahaha I guess luxury is a matter of opinion. If the car's got heated leather seats and more buttons than I know what to do with, I'd call it luxury
  10. You live fairly far from a grocery story. 14,692 miles at an average rate of 42.4mph means that it took you about 14 days of solid driving to get that milk. Is it spoiled yet? Nice car
  11. I've heard the myths and legends about your old dodge.... We're in the same class. Time for me to crawl underneath a rock.
  12. This happens so perfectly, it almost looks staged. I would be so pissed....
  13. I'm sorry. I'm an idiot and did not specify. I encourage you to come out for SUNDAY's regular event. Not Saturday's school. I'm not very good using all of these internets.
  14. yes. Saturday's school has been full for awhile now. Since you won't make it Saturday, I'd encourage you to come out to the regular event on Sunday. Many veterans are willing to provide crucial insight to beginners. It's not hard to find somebody willing to ride along with you. Also, there is a novice track walk and a myriad of other extras designed to allow an easy introduction to the racing.
  15. Congrats. Looking forward to seeing this once I get home.
  16. Just checked, and a Nordic tune will run you about $1,000 for either the high or low output model. The tune can gain about 40hp with no hardware modifications. Note that Saab's can't be "reflashed" by your local tune shop. Trionic software's a bitch.
  17. Ehh not a fan of the 03-04 9-3's. Personally, I'd go with a 02 or earlier. They're easier to work on and more Saab like IMO. To each their own. I know that the 03's have a different engine than the 02's, but provided that the setup is the same, the higher output engine has a different turbo from the others. If you're simply interested in a gain of a few horsepower, that's very possible with an ecu swap (for either model) Check out these companies for properly tuned ECU's: BSR Nordic (http://www.genuinesaab.com) SQR (automotion motorsport) Jac Stoll Performance (don't know if he tunes 03's) Aside from ECU's, there are many extras (think big turbos) that work with Saabs. Realize, however, that a tweaked Saab is just that. It may be tweaked, but you're still limited by the fact that it is a heavy, FWD, understeering Saab! If you're a true enthusiast, you may be better off buying something with a bit more "fun" and a little less luxury.
  18. I'll be there. Getting the slicks mounted up next week; so, unfortunately, I'll be running my street tires.
  19. Stumbled across this while surfing the interweb. A new, fully wideband O2 sensor that is designed with the features of expensive WBs (datalogging options etc) and a price of $80. On top of this initial $80, a bosch O2 sensor must be purchased along with some wires. Total cost would be around $150 for a WB with digital readout. Check it out. JAW Wideband I'm definitely curious. May pick one of these up on the offchance that it works as advertised.
  20. Wow. This car did 170-190 like mine does 60-80. :eek2:
  21. Nice. I'm sure you're glad that you never sold the CRX....

    Plates

Too many different tenses and subject changes. Attempted translation: Somebody has a similar plate to you. They drove a celica, now they own an mr2. You own an mr2. Are you trying to get your old plates back?
  23. Speaking of DSM's breaking. Did you get your finish pulling the head/redoing timing? Marc had no idea what was going on. I just told him it was a DSM. Pat, I wouldn't do it. Get a MKII MR2. You already know about the cars, and those are a riot (especially for autox!)
  24. Clintonville, which would make it weird for him to be all the way over here. He did look trashy though and was a shifty character on the video cams. Didn't notice any tatoos. The dude scampered pretty quick tho.
