  1. When you say "your pride and joy going up in flames" I thought the issue was fairly minor. I mean, it was capable of running a second time after an engine fire. Did you find out what the issue was? Was it a fuel line or something? Never the less, absolutely SWEET car.
  2. So the tri-rotor that caught on fire was AWESOME! I only saw his first run, but I think that read 560ho Someone will post a video soon (I hope!)
  3. I'll be out there! Looking forward to seeing more Doritos than in a $0.99 bag of Cooler Ranch! http://mydinnertable.typepad.com/home/images/doritos.JPG
  4. Rx7's seem to be in high demand... list of people so far that want a rx7: 1 Crossle 2 Megaman 3 LJ 4 Tinman 5 Jelloman 6 Columbusinvaders 7 Me 8 MajorMovit 9 Smokey That's out of about 30 responses. So around a third of us want rx7's and the market is very low on rx7's. Do I smell some appreciation in value?
  5. Rx7 FD ls1 powered Rx7 FC Porsche 928 S4 or I may keep the Saab and buy a Miata for autocross only
  6. YES! I made a photo http://richard.safier.com/OVR/OVRAutocross20070701/images/dsc_0401.jpg
  7. Really? Any links? Did you get your slicks mounted yet?
  8. I took my intake off so that I could run in GS...
  9. This is what I thought too! However, on that tight, off camber, right turn directly after the slalom, I got OVERsteer every time! Caught me completely off guard the first lap! PS. that miata that I checked out turned out to be a POS. Literally, if the car was in the junkyard, there was not one part on it worth scrapping.
  10. Mr. Autox, you hit it exactly. The first couple runs I took, I was scraping debris off from my tires' previous track day at mid ohio. Talk about iffy! Also, racing on slicks is completely different than on my streets. The slicks grip more, but I am not used to the point where they break away. Maybe I'm on crack, but it seems like the slicks are a little less predictable once they start to lose it. Chief, I again bow down to you and the invincible duster. Good work man.
  11. Fun time out today. The course was much harder than it looked. The slicks gave my car a huge boost as far as being competitive. I can now carry speed through corners Placed 6 of 13 in my class. Had I been 0.15 seconds faster, I could be kissing a trophy right now!
  12. I'm really looking forward to this. I hope that my new set of slicks allows me to be more competitive in my class. Unfortunately, I'll be there bright and early tomorrow morning to put them on (uggh!) Any idea of the run order of the heats? I hate working the course in session 4!!! PS. I was on 315 tonight and it looks like the course may already be laid out. Time to sneak over there and take spy shots of the setup! kidding kidding
  13. Was this car at autocross a couple weeks ago? I think I remember seeing it. Bump for a nice miata
  14. Try it from a friends computer. Everything is okay over here.
  15. Mid 70's? Wooooooohoooo! Maybe I will have a week when heatsoak doesn't own me!
  16. dusters are evil........ Silverevo: Yes, you are allowed to remove spare tires. Rear seats? I'm not so sure
  17. If you need a hand wrenching, let me know. I'll be around this afternoon as well as thurs and fri. PS. Real men don't need powersteering for autocross
  18. Pat, are you running this weekend? My slicks will own you (plus I may have a lead for some rx7 wheels for you)
  19. Agreed. My friend got tagged there the other day. Clinton township FTL On the other hand, Clintonville is one of the city's easiest places to speed...
  20. Looking forward to it. As far as the temperature last weekend -- I ended up with blacktop sealant melted onto to the soles of my shoes. Any ideas how to clean that off? haha ps. Saabs are slow.
  21. I went over to london ohio today to check out some of the cobras. Not going to lie, they were all amazing. I'd rock any of those cars any day of the week. Choosing a concourse winner would be impossible because they were all in impeccable shape. There were a couple GT40's as well as daytona coupes out there as well. Thank you, Factory 5!
  22. I know a guy racing in this.... I may try to make it up there
  23. Changed oil and forgot the drain plug. Noticed the puddle before I cranked it....
  24. And DESERT you! greeeeat. now that's going to be stuck in my head all night
  25. Results are up on http://www.ovr-scca.org I got 5th of 8 in my class. Acceptable, but I can do better (especially once I have the slicks mounted up!)
