  1. I carry a fossil, it's one of those thin ones that is like a really fancy money clip. In other words it's not one that folds. Had it for 2 years and seems pretty solid, starting to get a little rough around the edges.
  2. Right it gives 1.8 for the pump job, then I looked up dropping the tank and it gave 1.6 which leaves you the .2 to change the pump. Thus giving you the conclusion you need to drop the tank. VS. the cars that give .3 to change the pump and 5 to drop the tank lol. At least it's not a Volvo V70XC that pays like 7.2 to change the pump.
  3. There should be a DOT number on the tires, on 1 side their should be a 4 digit number thats circled sort of. First 2 numbers are the week, last 2 are the year. Example is 3204...32nd week of 2004.
  4. Do NOT use napa fuel pumps. We are a Napa repair center and deal with their parts all day. On GM fuel pumps the ONLY option worth considering is the dealership. Do yourself a favor and buy a good pump. They were junk from the factory, so it's going to be worse aftermarket. Some of Napa's lines is actually the same parts from the dealership like their altrom line. This does not apply to the GM fuel pumps, we have also had issues with their front wheel bearings used on GM sedans and only buy from the dealership. Good luck.
  5. It won't be that bad, you have to do it on the ground?
  6. Ohh, I was able to hit ondemand here lol. Gives 1.8 to do fuel pump, gives 1.6 to drop the tank, so I would say it's a tank drop. Description of remove and install says to drop the tank. I assume it's a 3.1, I think that's all the Malibu's came with in '00 at least that is what ondemand is showing.
  7. I understand you said there wasn't any sign of cracking, but how old are the tires anyway just for reference? I haven't seen anything like that either, at least not that many leaks. I have seen 1 or 2 that didn't have much sign of anything being there. But it could have been something embedded in the tread that the top of it came off, again if you plugged it you would have felt the rest of it though. Odd.
  8. Whoops, wrong account lol. If someone has access to alldata/ondemand today they would be able to verify.

    Music

Sounds really good to me. I am NOT a fan of screamo metal by any means, but usually the music is fantastic. I like listening to this w/o vocals to be honest.
  10. Man that second picture of your S14 makes it look like a freakin' boat. Welcome, clean car.
  11. Welcome, saw you out at one of the drift events.
  12. Dear God no. Not in that price range, those were abortions back in the day. Would not touch unless it was like 2K3 and up.
  13. All I'm going to say is this, in the sub 3K price range you WILL NOT find something that does not need work. Now that we have that out of the way, let's look at prices to repair cars...stay away from European cars....the worst ones in your price range PERIOD. The Japanese cars will be crusty around the edges, be ready for their 2nd timing belts, leaking or burning oil and in general will need work, but parts are readily available and reasonably priced. American cars in your range will be likewise condition as the Japanese cars with less mileage, the GM cars will probably need engine performance maintenance, if you go V6 expect coolant issues, if you go 2.4 route expect timing chain issues since people with these cars do not maintain them in this range. As far as safety, well look at what people drove back in the day. My first 2 cars did NOT have airbags '89 Ranger and '87 Fiero GT. If it has airbags...good. I was fully aware that they did not have airbags in them and to be honest, and I also appreciated that it was my parents car and not mine. So at any second the car could be taken from me.

  24. Welcome Ian, nice to meet you the other night. I'll shoot you some info here in the next week. Don't mind the cranky old men running around here, grew up in a different era of car modifying and won't ever like the import scene. No I don't LOVE the mods, but the enthusiasm is there which is what is more important. It is your car after all and that is what needs to be respected.
