  1. I love my job, I don't think I could work a desk job, or a job with repetition. Always on my feet, always changing, and always a challenge. Being a mechanic I understand that someday I will not be able to physically do it and pay will be average, but as long as car manufacturers keep making their junk I will always have a job.
  2. Not really sure how you would mediate this anyways. As far as learning about cars....it's more about learning how to defend yourself and e-battle in my opinion. Car forums that are vehicle or make specific tend to be way more educational than here.
  3. Hmm, good point. I would have thought of that after it got hammered in, I love the learning curve sometimes.
  4. I was thinking that, but maybe pry on the wheel? Don't know how easy it would be to turn the nut while prying on it....
  5. Hit it with a hammer a couple times and then try to tighten it back down? Haven't had this happen before, but I think that is the route I would take. Then I'm not 100% sure what I would do, depends on what tools are available to you after that.
  6. I agree with that ^, I didn't talk like that to people who have been working on cars longer than me. I wish I had the opportunity to build cars at 15 even, but I'd be a little more humble about it. I still don't talk like that to people who have been around the block so to speak. I listen and learn from them....
  7. So, you can't "own" a car until your 18 first of all. Whining that "it's mine" does nothing for me. Second of all if you will be lucky if you get your license based on your driving habits now that you shouldn't have. Most of the rest of the world waited to turn 16, you think your better than us, or maybe cooler than us? Oh...your careful and invincible, I forgot. My bad. I don't care what you think really, but seeing as though it's a public message board I am entitled to my opinion. I have read that you do good work, that's fine and i can respect that, but you would not have my trust at all based on this thread.
  8. Welcome, Fiero's are the shit! Especially the '86+ GT's

    Snow!

Woot! I'm ready for the snow, I love it.
  10. Adrenaline is addicting......some people can't seem to get enough at a track, or from some other form of racing.
  11. You can't polish a turd.... My opinion of Ford comes from working on them almost every day and they are just so ridiculously designed in the engine bay that it's incredibly frustrating. I would rather work on a Audi/BMW/VW/Toyota any day of the week over a Ford or Honda.
  12. I think this is an excellent way to look at the situation, it's a respect that you are not in control in every situation, that YOU put yourself into. I feel very comfortable in my car that I can handle myself and I have an understanding of the cars limits, but I'm not INVINCIBLE like a lot of people tend to think.
  13. Can you even physically mount those? Would you have to get 3 piece wheel and build the wheel into the tire?
  14. Same bolt pattern? Really? huh....not my first choice, but not the worst choice.

    obama wins

I feel bad for all the dem. people that think change will come this easily. A bunch if lemmings listening to a good campaign committee and completely missing reality. The next couple weeks will be interesting......
  17. I understand that, but it's still in a Ford which trumps the greatness of the motor.
  18. ^ Please define turd signar for me lmao? First time in shifter karts, not the first time autox by far, but I think I'm pretty hooked on the kart thing now. Saw a couple of your cars out there, I was working grid in the drivers suit for second heat, driving the #17 kart.

    Why do

I <3 backyard bob, those work orders are my favorite. Customer tried to fix _____ now car does _____. Or they get towed in halfway through a job and all the bolts are either missing or scattered throughout the car. I don't really do anything to the pads...never had a problem with noise/wear. Enlighten me on the whole sanding the brake pad, I am curious as to the logic behind that, I'm still learning so there is a lot i haven't heard and this is one of those things.
  20. They are interesting, but I would find them very frustrating to work on. Plus I don't really like Ford's products, so not sure why my opinion would mean anything, but hey coming from the "I work on my own car in my driveway" standpoint I would say stay away.
  21. Good deal man, I haven't seen the swap before, so it's unique to me. Cool to see people do the damn swaps rather than say im gonna put this into this and it never happens. Does it seem to handle any differently at all? Welcome btw.
  22. I'm sitting in a camping chair at my desk at home, otherwise at work I am sitting on a folding wooden chair..you know, the little pos chairs.
