    Intro

YES! Finally a real Z car, you should try autocrossing! You don't happen to work over at Tong Da (spelling?) at Oakland Park and Indianola do you? Welcome, enjoy your stay! My dad might chime in here, but he used to race Z cars back in the day, we are actually going to Nelson Ledges in late August for the 24 hour race to crew for a team with a 240z.
  2. I talked to the event chair yesterday at work for a little bit and expressed to him that he needs to sit down with the SCCA calender and schedule their next couple of events around SCCA's events. I will post up future events as they come up. They are really looking forward to having a larger crowd even if they are not Porsche's.

    Retirement

As the youngest in this thread so far, I would like to say thanks for the posts. That was really informative. Thanks to my parents, I have pretty good saving habits already, I have been able to pay for all my college so far out of my own pocket, plan on being able to make a down payment on a condo here in a couple years as well. Retirement is something I have been thinking about myself since you are going from your income, to almost zero income. My question was always, how much is enough to live through the rest of your life? And how much do you need to put away each year to achieve that. I want to start young, but with school I can't put away as much as I would like because of less work hours and school costs.
  4. I would stick with the second one if it folds in...for security. I like Pioneer's heads, I've had one for the last year or so and haven't had an issue with it. If I were a thief and walked b/w two cars and saw a normal looking head unit in one car and a TV screen in the other...I'm going after the TV screen lol.
  5. Ok then tell me what day is good for you and I will talk to Brian and set up a meet in the middle of the day just for you. Tell me what your schedule is like and where YOU want to meet. If you don't like that idea then your all talk. As if there hasn't been enough car shows on the weekends in the middle of the day with heavy CR presence....
  6. You don't rub people the wrong way, you just give people headaches because your posts are useless. I'm sure you'll have some smart, hop around the point comment, but I don't care. Until your posts make sense, add to the thread, or you actually participate in something outside the internet (gasp) you will still be just another guy that sits behind a computer seeking for attention. Which is why this ridiculous thread was even made....for attention.
  7. I would totally be in if it were a weekend, and if I had something else to take besides my daily. I just need to realize sometimes that I'm a poor college kid and need to be patient.
  8. I wonder how many, if any of those cars Speed channel used in that show "Victory by Design".
  9. Ford 2.3 turbo in the Festiva! (SVO mustang, turbo thunderbird coupe, merkur XR4Ti) Do your research these motors are cheap and easy to mod. Oh and welcome!
  10. It's weird to hear Lexus as being such high class....it's just a glorified Toyota haha. I'd check out the AWD volvos (NOT THE CROSS COUNTRY), or the Lexus. I feel like BMW and Mercedes are "high class". I would stay away from Audi because of their chronic problems when they are driven often. Or heck, stick with a Subaru if thats what you like. If you don't need AWD I would also check out the new Accord's. Those look super classy.
  11. You can only fit MKI MR2 wheels on your Honda, My gen 90-95 and the spyder have 5 lug wheels 5X114.3. And MKI alloys are pretty desirable!
  12. Ignore the PM that i just sent then. Thanks!
  13. Wow super clean GTO. Welcome!
  14. Why would you join a automotive related site with no interest in autos? Then you wonder why your not getting a wonderful response? Seriously?
  15. I got 11 runs in and i hurt lol. I'm going to bed. Super tight course, there were less than 20 people running i believe. I thought the course was excellent! Keeps those Porsche's out of their power band.
  16. Anthony, I bet your kids slept well haha. I think they had the most races in by far.
  17. This was posted on the MR2 boards, didn't see anything like it on a quick search here so I thought I'd share...enjoy! http://www.biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=5019 NWS - couple of tiny advertisement banners across the top of the screen for porn...they are pretty small though. And a couple of links here and there, but otherwise nothing major.
  18. Sounds like a good time to me. Not to familiar with the programs, but are you looking to design cars suspension/engine systems? Or, are you looking to become a technician?
  19. Welcome, are you in the automotive industry at all? Meaning, are you going to school for it, or have a job in the field? Saturns can be really reliable, there is a member here that has a turbo saturn.....
  20. Usually there are two run groups, they split all the cars in half. If there is a two driver car they usually have it run both heats, one driver one heat, the other the next heat. I think it's mainly because of how quickly the heats flow since there aren't many people. Since normally you would run the two driver cars first then switch and get back in line on grid. I'm sure, if you talked to the event coordinators you could work something out, it's real laid back. You are allowed to have riders if you are a novice. (Less than one full season of autocross experience) You are allowed riders during the "fun runs" at the end regardless of experience. Corner working is also really laid back, if there are enough people she won't have to work possibly, but it's a lot of fun....for a little bit haha. Usually the older folks don't go out and work at all. There will be a whole lot of us youngins there.
