  1. That may be as well ^. Check the production date on the door frame to find out for sure.
  2. 88GT's are cool until stuff breaks. Last model year and there are just certain things you can't get. I.E. I heard you can't get wheel bearings for them? People were talking about having to get sunfire wheel bearings and modifying them to fit. And yes a L67 would be fun. Fiero's are a pain to do swaps in even though it has a cradle tho. You can bore out the exhaust manifold and part of the intake plenum on the 2.8 for a small gain.
  3. You have yourself a 1985 Fiero GT. Only GT year w/ that body style. That indeed came w/ a 5 speed. Fieros later came with a four speed, which is more desireable. 86-88 GT's look like spaceghost's. GT's have the V6. They are fun, they weigh a TON, and aren't particularly fast in a straight line, but they make an ok daily. 3800 series motor N/A and SC and the Northstar V8's are popular swaps. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and i can do my best to answer them. I had an 87' GT for about a year, but got bored w/ the automatic.
  4. LMFAO i was just reading that and was about to post it. One of a kind, and a steal at that price.

Pro rally drivers are the finest. Absolutely amazing skill, if you watch a camera that is aimed at the drivers face they usually don't blink for incredibly long periods of time.

If you have to ask you will never understand. Driver's in the pro series are as in shape as most sports athletes. And if it is so easy why aren't you doing it? Seems like a super EASY way to make some $$$ the way you are describing it.

  10. I'm car searching for you too, i've sent out a few emails, but no response yet. And to everyone that hates on this idea....you are only fueling the fire, and are the reason for this build.

    New Guy

Welcome, you live pretty close to me. Good to see another autox-er.
  15. Clean Mach 1 and welcome.
  16. Scrap metal yards, cats have titanium in them. We have a guy that comes to our shop and buys the old cats that we replace and he then takes them to the yards.
  17. Good to hear your ok. I would have loved to have that car if I had the money.
  18. Brake modulation is you friend. Downshifting in those conditions is a good way to get rearended as well. Everybody was brought up different so everyone has an opinion about what is too strict. This may seem too strict to some because mom and dad payed for a nice new low mileage car. I agree that buying a car before your kids 16th birthday and having them help you fix it up gives them a little more APPRECIATION for what they have. They will then be rewarded in a year or two with an "upgrade" based on how well they do with their current car. Yes my parents payed for my car, but i showed appreciation for the cars i have had and shown a cartain level of responsibility with them. Now I pay for 100% of my parts instead of how ever much i could swing. I would say just cruise craigslist or search for "mechanics special" on craigslist to start. Then go based on what is available. Good luck.
  19. I was in line to buy the thing ~5 months ago when it was for sale for $1500 on Craigslist, but he beat me too it lol. Chill, I wasn't posting in anger. Apologies Fuzzman for the interruption and good luck w/ the sale.
  20. Link in my signature.....probably older than what you are looking for based on your price range.
  21. They have a new location on Indianola right by the shop i work at and there sure is a lot of whoop de do machines over thurr. Thanks for the info, now i'm sure someone has had a good experience and all, BUT if you let a car out of your shop like he is describing. I'm sorry, but that is just bad business.
  22. I had a set of 14" slicks, but your competition bought them lol. Patience.....i have a set of 14" snow tires on miata steelies if interested for this winter.
