  1. 500 VHS tapes? In for mass photo of this heap. Holy crap that is a ton......the humor in this thread is great.
  2. 911 wheels......gotta keep the wheels Porsche, just from a different car. Gotta stay 16" though eliminates a lot of the newer 911 wheels. When you say front and rear are different sizes I assume you are talking about diameter?
  3. Thanks, I wish more could be said about the body, but I love these things to death.
  4. I see what you did there
  5. Nice seeing you guys....even though we totally did not see this before we went lol.
  6. Buy something with the anticipation that they will get into an accident. My dad paid $200 for my first car (truck) that was smashed in the LR, for $500 at the yard we scored a bed/bumper/tailgate/hitch/alloy wheels and it turned out really nice. Also make sure it is something that you will be able to sell if they do well with it and you decide to "upgrade" them. Dunno how you feel about that, but my parents took care of my first 3 cars 2 of which we profited on, 1 of which is my baby and will not be sold. My Dad just doesn't hold onto cars for long.
  7. I am doing head gaskets and all maintenance on this car now, 2.5RS wheels/suspension, auto trans, literally almost no rust....etc. May be about 2-3 weeks, once I get my Subaru's done I like to drive them for at least 2 weeks to make sure everything is sorted out. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z39/crossle_sean/DSC02517.jpg
  8. Rear wheel bearings on the cars with rear disk brakes, they have ventilation issues which over heats the bearings causing them to fail. You hardly see rear wheel bearing failure on a drum brake car. Head gaskets on the 2.5 SOHC every 70K ish, some exceptions. Head gaskets on 2.2 SOHC, 1.8 SOHC not so common Head gaskets on 2.5 DOHC not so common, more common higher mileage 150K plus Harder to do HG's on DOHC due to removing the cams to get the head bolts out. Front axle boots tear often, due to the inner boots being so damn close to the manifold. Rust is an issue on the fuel filler necks in the era you are interested in, can/will cause CEL for EVAP when it gets bad enough. Remove the filler cap, if you see rust, it's probably worse further down. Transmission issues were on the autos, usually because the dumbass quick oil change places take the trans filter off and drain the trans pan instead of the oil then put the wrong fluid back in, or no fluid. Manuals seem to hold up well from what I have seen. PLUS, I have the car you want if she needs an auto

  10. Got some shots over at the train museum, about to head downtown to cruise for some shots. I'll post up a couple when I get back later tonight/today.
  11. So, lets say someone wants to go out around the Columbus area to shoot some pictures of their ride. Where are your "spots" if you would like to share them with the group? I mean sure there could be the "obvious" like Hoover Dam or the Easton Parking Garage, but where else do you all go take your pictures? One spot I am going to go check out today is the old Ohio train museum over near Maxton Chevrolet off 161. A place I have known about for years, and been to numerous times, but never tried to shoot pictures of my cars there. Granted I am a "point and shoot" camera guy, but I certainly like neat back drops for my shots.
  12. Car looks pretty solid. I will roll with the benefit of the doubt that you may be helping the look of the car rather than hurting it. Of course that is totally my opinion and each person's car is a reflection of what they like, so to each their own. I guess I'm sorta confused as to why it doesn't have a intercooler now, I assume you went n/a which is totally cool around here, ESPECIALLY if you went a K20 route. I know a couple people who will bash your ride to hell online, but would totally secretly like it if it went that specific route LOL. You know who you are....

    Sewer smell

Wow this thread is really educating for a newer home buyer here. Pretty interesting.
  14. Freezing rain woke me up this morning, and Sean said the roads are bad so they prob are...(Autoxqt/Erica)
  15. AWESOME sorta what I feel like doing when all you smokers toss your butts out the window on the freeway and they bounce off my car....
  16. Awesome, maybe he realized Nascar is just as boring as it looks compared to what he used to do...

    RX8

I drive a '08 Auto, man if it didn't have the paddle shifters/manu-shift it would have sucked ASS, sorta like a Porsche 944 with an auto.
  19. Parked the LGT to drive this thing yesterday while it was crappy. Man is it fun in the snow still. Bump/
  20. Thanks for the offer Andrew, just tight on $ right now. Would be interested in the future for sure, we have been itching to go to another game recently. I know you get them on and off.
  21. I don't regret selling any of mine.....I would regret selling the white MR2, but that's why I still have it. I guess of all of them if I could get 1 back it would be the '89 Ranger.
  22. I got a guy named Jim at Under Dog towing, about $200-$400 depending on the car. Got about $250 for a minivan, $400 for a Grand Cherokee. Depends on new or late model if you sell to someone who parts them out.
