'98 Impreza Wagon....pics tonight finally got a couple of it in snow.

We installed it into a customers caterham.....as far as a "perfrmance tune" you would be better off taking it to someone like Brian.

Let me ad this bit of info, things have changed a little bit. Here is the idea behind having the buyer present when you have your signature notarized. LEGALLY a notary CANNOT notarize your signature unless the information of the buyer is filled out at the top of the title at the time of notarization. This is because people "title skip" meaning the guy you sell it too never puts it in his name and re-sells the car to avoid paying taxes/transferring the title. This brings in the 2nd complication, say you have the buyers info, you fill out the top get it notarized and bam buyer is a no show. Now YOU pay the expense of getting a new title made because you have a filled out title in the name of someone who isn't buying the car. Typically I do not notarize a title unless 1 of the 3 criteria are met. 1. The unknown buyer has made a downpayment large enough to cover if he no shows getting a new title and the waste of my time. 2. The unknown buyer has paid in full (typically this means that the buyer is there when it gets notarized) 3. I personally know the buyer and have full confidence that they are going to pay me. Just a FYI, take it for what you will I am sure I may get flamed for my methods, but it saves my ass every time which is what counts and it's LEGAL.

Likely doesn't cut it lol. I have had to deal with so many car transactions this year alone that I can't take a owners word anymore after some of the shit I have had to go through. Paper with numbers on it is it...period. OR surrender the car to my inspection process and I will find out myself. I understand what you are all saying, my experience tells me differently. Facts are facts. If they can't tell me when the timing belt was done with mileage then it gets done and I factor that into my purchase price. Hence why I am able to give someone an excellent product when I turn a car because all of the major maintenance is current.

People's idea of recently is sometime pretty ludacris. Recently does not cut it in my book. People tell us their car was just in at our shop for service and it has been over a year....take it for what you wish.

Don't you think you may regret pulling the HVAC stuff out? I mean, a lot of race cars still retain a blower for the front windshield for if it fogs over. Just sayin', I am curious to hear your reasoning for removing it other than weight reduction? Car looks great as usual, keep up the good work!

When was the last time it had a timing belt and the glow plugs replaced?

HA Facepalm lol REALLY? To OP....COME ON.

Just as an FYI we deal with NAPA on a regular basis here at the shop. NAPA has a line called "altrom" which sometimes has some crappy parts, but it also sometimes includes "factory" or "premium" parts from well known companies. Example, under the "altrom" line you can get factory Toyota TRW water pumps. SOO, recently they just got a shipment of 52 new pallets of new altrom stock. I was able to order Zimmerman brake rotors and Akebono brake pads for a Mini Cooper this morning from the warehouse on 161. Just a heads up as a possible alternative when looking for some of the "name" parts. The altrom line also includes Brembo brake rotors for many applications as well. I am just giving tossing this out there as a price comparison option more for the Euro guys since I don't know of many places locally that carry that stuff other than Midstate who buys from International.

Would stay away from the SAAB, the over priced Honda, and the repair bills of the Nissan's. The Altima would be a better pick over the Maxima's loftier repair bills for essentially the same car. Leaves the LGT and the MS3, both are excellent cars.

He needs his money back since he already paid. And another free oil change. What happens when you let high school kids change oil on your car.

Maybe mjrsplat should help with your intro?

Or not if it's late since I will be heading to Michigan in the morning at the ass crack of dawn.

Also need to knock all the ice/snow out of your wheels, another famous complaint this time of year.
-
Had a guy blow a 2009 Cooper S in front of the shop. Florida tags about 32K miles on the car. Wondering how bad it was and what not. Got towed over there today. For those on the freeway a lot let this be your reminder to knock all the ice out of all your grills to allow air to flow to the radiator.

You can give Bill over at Midstate a call 888-3838 they do used and can sometimes get weird stuff. Just another possible resource.

Welcome fellow Toyota owner.

I believe Evans services them.

I know where one of the team cars to that one is here locally

We had one sitting at the shop for a few months, thought we were going to inherit it since they took forever to come pick the damn thing up. It was tons of fun to drive that's for sure.

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure we released the car to the dealership with the customers knowledge. I was in the front office when the dealership came to pay for it, but did not see who took it and it left the same day the dealership payed for it.

She called the lot and asked if they had a remote for a remote start or aftermarket car alarm. They then told her that it had neither, but it did have the payment assurance device on the car. Idk how she reacted to it, but they called us and told us what it was and told us we shouldn't have taken it off because they activated it due to no payment. Although the owner claims that the payment was due next week sometime and that they were early. And yes, it fixed the problem, car starts fine.

See that's what we thought had to happen, so it's hard to say what happened on the customers end. Is the lot shady, or is the customer not telling us the whole story? We don't need to know for sure, but it sure raises some questions.

Typically I believe most places have you sign a document stating that you know it's there and what it does. Yah heard that the other day from Scott the for the first time, it will be awhile to get out of the habit haha.
