Stabbed a snake? I've never seen such a thing as a large snake attacking someone or an animal and needed to rescue the victim, but IMO cutting the fucking head off is what comes to mind first, not stabbing it. At least if you're going to stab it, go for the head.

So isn't it about time that the people force the states to react and provide the funding for the teachers out of their own budgets that are being mis-manged already? What's throwing more money at a broken system going to do besides prolong the problem? I'm not saying don't support teachers, I'm saying help the teachers change the system that so that their system can support them better. Of course there's going to be pain for some that are reaping the rewards that are hurting the system today. That's okay, the pain they are being spared today is killing the future for everyone.

I agree, you shouldn't punish the teachers. How about making parents responsible? How about the vast majority of Americans who don't pay any taxes or get refunds be required to earn it based on the performance of their kid? Let's not give back tax money, let's make people earn it by shutting off the damn TV and spending time doing homework with their kids? Isn't it about time parents toss the Xbox as their baby sitter and perhaps work through some math problems with their own kids? Hell, the parents might actually learn something. I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. $50k per year family, but if your kids fuck around in school and you can't actually RAISE your kids to CONTRIBUTE to society and don't become ACCOUNTABLE for them as you should, then perhaps you're shouldn't get the tax breaks you do get to go buy Xboxes and LCD TV's you shouldn't even be giving to your kids who suck in school in the first place. How about we make people earn what they get by staying in good health? Why the fuck should I pay taxes to go towards all these medical and food programs when I see a bunch of unhealthy people parking in handicap spaces at WalMart only to come out with junk food, smokes and beer?

^^ this. My beef with the system is that it's the retirement plans of a lot of public service jobs like teachers and law enforcement are able to spend more time retired and drawing a nice pension for longer than the years they contributed. I have a friend who worked for 25yrs with Perry Township Police. He recently retired and "worked the system" by putting in tons of overtime and paid gigs his last three years knowing his retirement was based on the average of his highest three years. His best year was nearly 80k and at age 47 retired with 60% of that for the rest of his life. Kicker is the Township rehired him in another role making some very nice money. Combined with his retirement and benefits, he's making some serious coin and living a nice life. Not bad for a beat cop. He's in great shape and will likely live into his mid to upper 70's thus enjoying a 60% payroll check for longer than he put in. On top of that, he's also occupying a position that a non-retired person could have instead. It's this type of "working the system" that is strapping states for cash. FUCK the .5% tax Coleman pulled in to support the force today. BULLSHIT...free up the money that retired guys are reaping in and adding to their now new-found careers and have the state fund the public sector as they should. It's even worse for teachers. With a majority of them women, living much longer than the current retirement plan was intended to be supportive of, made possible by great health benefits, etc...STRS is also going broke trying to support those that are retired. So now they are strapped when it comes to trying to educate our kids today. FUCK ANY levy they try and pass. I'll be damned if they are going to bullshit me in that they need the money for schools and programs left and right. Stop funding the posh retirements of all those people who only had to put in 30yrs and can easily reap retirement for 30 more. Raise the number of years for an employee to put in to 40yrs and fix what is broke instead of trying to have me fund their retirements. I have my own retirement and family to provide for.

With the reaction to changes Netflix encountered With the latest example at Bank of America and the backlash of raising their fees. With the entire Tea Party Movement etc. Is the voice of the people finally being heard? I don't agree with all aspects of the tent cities around the country and protesters on Wall Street but I do agree with the visibility that it's providing others who may be on the edge of doing nothing or doing something. We've all discussed how the country is going to shit but what are each of us doing about it? Shit-can of discussion opened up. Let her rip....

FS: 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster $11,500obo
TTQ B4U replied to El Karacho1647545492's topic in LBTS GLWS
Very clean looking car. Reminds me of the 450SL that was in the TV Show Hart to Hart in the late 70's/early 80's Yeah, I'm old. Old-Man-Tan in color too. GLWS. If he puts that in the local papers, especially Dublin, he'll sell it for sure. -
^^ This. Believe me I can relate. FWIW, one of the best spends of a mere $12 I've made recently: It's a very easy read. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51WphdVLdRL._SS400_.jpg

Soccer is over, I'd love to get back out there. Car may be dirty but we'll see. I might have a chance to clean it up and get the winter shoes on it.

Kids are great. Especially when their not yours :gabe: It's tough man. I don't do many photo shoots with kids that aren't mine because they can be hit or miss. When highlights are blown out badly, there's no recovering them. Best you could do is replace them with a good blending technique. Perhaps I'll play with this one if I have time/motivation. Best thing is to use an external flash, reflectors, etc...control the lighting. If you don't, it will own you.

Excellent review with more than enough technical talk for the geeks here :lolguy: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4971/apple-iphone-4s-review-att-verizon

I'm not much into video, but the 4s does decent in good light. Challenge comes when lighting drops as the sensor and processing get's grainy fast. MKII stays silky smooth at high ISO's. The frame rate difference and smoothness is also quite noticeable.

Not a lamesauce question. You'll find mixed results on this answer as times are changing fast. Lots professionals put their studio name in the corner or at the very least a logo. Here's a friend of mine's page: http://adlerhouse.com/index.html Notice in the upper right. That's her logo she puts in watermark fashion on her prints. I don't. I put labels on the back of my prints with my contact information on them. Keep in mind, when a customer pays for the images, they pay for limited fair use. They still do not own the rights to the images unless you specifically sign a contract with them to do so. However, I wouldn't ever do that. If images are from my eye and camera, the rights are mine not theirs.

Ford Must have really did something special to the motor. I drive a 263hp 3.5l in the Fusion and I've yet to see it's rated 27mpg on the highway. More like 24mpg. Average overall for me is 22mpg.

Load it up with Memory and keep the bullshit off. No games or anything on my stuff. Download all porn and software, hacks, etc from a completely separate PC and don't do it with anything else running on the network. I've never had a problem doing it this way. If my download computer get's a virus, I flip off the wifi switch and wipe it.

6.31mb pdf here: http://download950.mediafire.com/51hk7x1l1ghg/w6aaltd73ika5p0/AVR+247+Manual+in+pdf+format.pdf click the link and give it a few seconds to load the link. You can just close the pop-up window that opens. It's a media fire thing. Not harmful, just a basic ad page.
