  1. GT350. Now get that damn thing coated
  2. So Scott picked up a really nice daily for his wife and wanted to give it a full coating protection so that maintenance on it day-forward would be much easier and that any road trips it heads out on will make clean up of bugs and debris a snap. The vehicle has 6k miles on it but it was still in like brand new condition with near zero marring so we decided on the New Car Prep package with CarPro Cquartz UK v3.0 (brand new release) as the solution. The vehicle has loads of plastic trim protecting the lower rockers and wheel wells so we also decided on the SiO2 Trim Coating there too. This will ensure it stays as dark as shown here for quite a while, that it will shed dirt very easily and of course be protected from all the much that typically layers on top of it. It's a medium dark grey metallic with a hint of a purple tone to the flake. It's often hard to show how well certain colors turn out, especially greys or silvers but this one comes through quite nicely I think. Thanks again for trusting me with your new ride Scott! You'll love the hydrophobic/self cleaning properties of this coating. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736767/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736768/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736769/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736770/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736772/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736771/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736765/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736766/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736773/original.jpg
  3. Updating thread with some pics from this morning. http://www.pbase.com/image/167736731/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736738/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736734/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736736/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736740/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736741/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736744/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167736746/original.jpg
  4. So a fellow member of CR who has a heavily modified and beautiful Blue Pearl STi needed to have his car refreshed as honestly, it was driving me nuts seeing it less than it could be as he goes past my house on a daily basis Brandon and I have worked on this car in the past each paired with a buffer and over a few adult beverages have given it record time polishes but this time we paired up to go a bit slower and breath new life into his car. The paint overall wasn't bad outside some swirls from perhaps the drying phase of his washes (I'll help fix that.) The windows however.....OMG this was perhaps the worst case of waterspots I've ever seen. The car was originally from Iowa and I think the previous owner had well water and likely let the car get a shower when they sprayed their crops. Seriously the windows looked like the glass shower door in a college apartment where no one ever cleaned it. I'm sure he has some before pictures of them. This was more of an impromptu clean up job late last night thus the pics here are preliminary cell shots and so long as he didn't do many 60-160 runs in Mexico last night we should get some decent ones this morning. The vehicle was polished and coated with Gyeon's CanCoat product. Trim was horribly faded so I also restored that and SiO2 Coated it so the dark rich color will stay with no further maintenance needed. The windshield cowling will be restore next and had to remain faded for now as I ran out of product and my replacement is due this week. Overall the car turned out great given it's 11 years old and has seen it's share of weather and use. Outside the front bumper which has wear the paint is 95+ if not nearly 100% corrected and looking great. Onto the cell shots to at least show off what a Blue Pearl Subi should look like. Thanks for helping out on the detail Brandon! Light Swirls likely from drying: http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734853/original.jpg AFTER: http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734891/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734859/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734856/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734858/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734855/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167734854/original.jpg
  5. You think? I don't see them going after Roe V Wade. Just my opinion. I liked Kennedy. Did a solid job. We need someone who will stick to the law and constitution.
  6. Thanks for the kind words and the opportunity to bring that baby back to life. It's the perfect sedan and I love the color. Just hold off on actually "washing it" until Friday or so. It can get rained on that's fine.
  7. So Eric picked up a solid 2003 M5 in Dark Blue Metallic but it needed some love. In reviewing the packages and options, we decided upon Option 3, Elite Enhancement because it was in need of compounding and polishing in order to get through the oxidation and swirls that were instilled while it lived in Florida. You'll see in the pics that the hood was completely destroyed. The hood was repainted and the front fenders blended but in all honesty, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to save the hood from needing repainted. Given he isn't going to daily the car he went with Gyeon's CanCoat SiO2 product. It's an excellent coating with SUPER hydrophobic properties but its has on a daily it's about a 6-9 life expectancy. It's a weekend and special event car not a daily so it should last just fine with his care going forward. We also ceramic coated the glass so driving in the rain will no longer be an issue. Onto the Pics: BEFORE: The car had swirls that went from medium to horrible. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699691/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699692/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699693/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699697/original.jpg The hood looked like it was close to needing re-sprayed. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699694/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699696/original.jpg All the moldings and trim were faded badly too. I threw in a complete re-dying and sealing of them at no charge as there's no way this beauty could have gone home incomplete. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699695/original.jpg Overall, the car turned out great. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699716/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699700/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699702/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167701341/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699698/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699699/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699703/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167699704/original.jpg Thank you again Eric for trusting me with your new-to-you car that is barely a month old! She's a beauty!!
  8. I would think if there was an issue something within the systems of his car would be flashing a light and notifying him. No lights or warnings, likely no issues.
  9. Ditto to all. Father's day lunch are in the plans here. Not sure where they are taking me but I'm Hungry already. BBQ tonight on the patio with some neighbors should be fun too.
  10. fitment was excellent. rear window seals on pillars leak though. small fish eyes in the paint here and there too. Not terrible but they are there. gap isn't as bad in person for some reason. my eyes are drawn to the sidewalls. I'd go with a lower profile 19 or 20 to fix both but it would impact the ride for sure. agree. when I saw the aero covers at first I was like
  11. So Evan here on CR moved the world of Subaru's to potentially the future with his new Model 3. Still riding on 30 day tags he wanted to put it through My New Car Prep package and went with the Gyeon Syncro coating package I offer. With the shape of this car, it's going to shed water crazy making clean ups a snap. Wheels and Glass were all coated as well and should perform amazingly well in rain. Harder to see with a camera but the tri-color pearl paint is done very well and definitely comes alive in the sun. For those interested, the car is nearly identical in size as my S4 and even my Q50. Interior is a bit smaller that the two in the back seat area but the fronts are super comfy for sure. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167655757/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167655754/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167655755/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167655758/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167655756/original.jpg
  12. I could care less if the media reports on his comments to them. Ironically that word is most fitting...media. It's nearly all entertainment partisan hacks any more vs true reporting. The vast majority of it is not reporting. Reporting the news is one thing, 24x7 entertainment driven repeating of the same mass distributed talking points across the networks is just media noise. I think that's what is being referenced as the echo chamber. he doesn't want our trade deals to be fair and equitable? really? I think you meant disagrees but then I don't recall calling someones a turd for their moral beliefs. I think a thug kid who show clear signs of no fucks given, robbing cars and stealing things from businesses, then strutting past the cops as they try and apprehend him while holding a weapon is a turd, yes. See....there....you're doing it again. You complain about people making judgements about you, when as you state they don't know you but then you do it just the same. The irony here has thickened. I can't follow that logic Kerry, you just want Trump or anyone debating you to be seen as the bad guy.
  13. for me it's side gig doing something I enjoy and in a way paying forward to the people here by doing something that perhaps they don't want to do or don't have all the stuff to do. I credit Andy here with prodding me into doing it and giving me tips early on.
  14. You asked, I answered. Everyone farts in public. no pretending here at all. the media is over the top negative with their 24x7 coverage of Trump Hate. We've seen hate coverage before but never like this. relationship is symbiotic. It's pretty clear that the media is generally hateful of Trump and likewise they are use to seeing him as undisciplined in his reactions to criticism. he does love he coverage either way so the relationship works all around. Agree and so would he, so the point is for the other countries to make losses more equitable. The tariffs are just a beginning point to those talks. We'll see how fair and equitable those other countries are going to be and if in fact they are truly our Allies on more front than just militarily. condescending is your M.O. dude. clearly it gets to you. man you are so fucking Trump-like it's uncanny. you continue to prove my point that all you spew about hating on Trump and how he behaves and attacks people is more and more EXACTLY what you are. It's just becoming so much more clear now. It's actually funny. Don't worry man, I'm not a snowflake nor do I care but it is funny how the stars aligned and your true colors are showing. He tweets and you post here. The difference is he's comfortable with who he is and you seem to have an internal struggle still brewing trying to prove you're not like that.
  15. DAMN! Nice job! What all is done to it?
  16. One man gets all that credit eh? WOW! Funny how it takes a village to raise a child yet little old Donald Trump the dolt from NY can turn a country to evil with a mere tweet. Funny how he is the all powerful OZ when it's negative but boy if a butterfly spreads it's wings on a sunny day, there's no fucking way in hell he had a thing to do with it. LOL! Man you could be on CNN.
  17. I'm sure you're passionate about the whole birther thing but i you honestly think that's what brought him to political prominence then you and many others, especially Clinton and Obama, have not only been utterly humiliated by his win but still don't get it. Sad.
  18. could be. he farts and the media picks it up and runs with it. lost leader products are one thing but not entire lines of business or in this case tangible goods. agree, but we still need to insure trade both ways is fair between countries and it's not wrong or insulting to work towards that. Small business vs large company is completely different. I never spoke a word about me but thanks for putting me on that high horse. Look forward to chatting with you live about it though. Unless you continue to bring the personal attacks. Again, you're more like Trump than you care to admit. It's an east coast thing so you may as well accept it. I have a good friend who is from Philly and despises Trump too but he's just as big a blow hard.
  19. Lots of people like his approach whether you agree or not. It's no secret the majority of media hates Trump and does nothing but reinforce his need and want to continue his own social media campaigns and picks back and forth between the two. The both crave attention. that's more the media's doing than Trump. they hype up anything to get him in a negative light and if there's a KKK Member around they will put the two side by side on 24 news cycles thus giving them both the exposure they crave. Trump doesn't do that. the media empowers serial killers, school shooters and skin heads day in and day out.
  20. doesn't mean we don't need to address the deficit on net goods. if you haven't figured out his means of pushing issues into the media then I can't help you. in any business if there's an area of said business that's losing money, the CEO is going to fix it. they aren't going to let it suck away profits from other areas. we need to address goods not just services. what you're missing is you've never run a business.
  21. Here it is on Canada. Perhaps De Niro should be the one to go fuck himself instead of apologizing. Who the hell is he to apologize for anyone anyway? https://ustr.gov/countries-regions/americas/canada Trade Balance The U.S. goods trade deficit with Canada was $17.5 billion in 2017, a 59.7% increase ($6.5 billion) over 2016. The United States has a services trade surplus of an estimated $26 billion with Canada in 2017, up 8.0% from 2016. Mexico sells $55 billion dollars a year more in goods, China an unbelievable $375 billion a year more. The European Union is up by $95 billion a year (latest stats available). Any questions, have your AP News people call the Office of the United States Trade Representative and let them debate it further or dig into what specifics in each area of trade within those numbers are deficits or surpluses as of course nothing is the same across the board.
  22. Show me where Trump went on an apology tour. In terms of Kim, I would speculate that there are likely leaders in positions of power within in N. Korea who like the status quo and might try to assassinate KJU before giving up that power. Perhaps that's the next move and would that be a bad thing? Get him killed without even having to be a part of it. Hmmm. more personal attacks. you sound like a butt-hurt Hollywood actor. what's ironic too is most of those Hollywood Trump haters who paint him as vile and evil are the ones yelling "fuck trump" on live TV, holding chopped off heads up and laughing and calling his daughter a cunt. The irony is so clear and deep with them. For me the Matt Lauer fall was the best kick in their own nuts. LOL that we're even debating the stopping of wartime training as a concession. the funny thing is I'm still surprised the left supports war games. go figure! but hey, there are Hollywood elitists dems that want to blow up the white house too. you're correct though, we gave Kim something he wanted; now it's his turn and will be his decision to follow up with action. Had we not provided any type of offering we would be seen as the super power bully just trying to push him into submission. smart move; now it's his turn to decide the fate of his people and country. I'm not here to convince you of anything. That would be especially stupid considering you're trying to inject race into this now. WOW! in the end, feel free to try and diminish what he's done by stating it's nothing. the ongoing dislike and hate the media and others continue to display for trump will always be seen as a negative and the optimism and hope he is showing will continue to be seen as a positive. which is ironic as the left is always trying to paint him as the dark and negative one. let's see how that all continues to play out on the matter.
  23. I think the one commentors there summed it up pretty well. Obama went on tour apologizing to the world; Trump is telling the world he's the President of the United States and here to look out for our people first. Not sure what you were expecting from his first meeting here but from it he no doubt has a better first-hand understanding of this guy than Obama did; he got us a commitment to return Korean War remains and a handful of hostages were released just prior to it; related or not. What did we we cave on...running war time training drills? Yeah...like that's hard to restart. Again, I doubt Kim needs to see these training drills anymore. I think there's enough hardware off his shore to make our stance pretty clear and I'm sure he's well aware of our capabilities. Add to it he knows his lack of capability vs us.
  24. I'm sure people everywhere will jump right into offering them up
  25. Nope, just examples of Obama reaching out to solve the worlds problems in such upstanding and beneficial ways with upstanding people. I don't think I need to plug in anything related to Iran but then you approve of all that I'm sure.
