The LS2 has a oil burning issue. GM has issued a warning to all the owners to check the oil level frequently. They also recommend not driving it hard over 3800 rpm. LOL

Take this to the bank: Keep watching the cars for sale section on LS1GTO.com/LS2GTO.com and you should be able to literally steal a fully modded car at a unmoded price. They go up for sale all the time with people having to sell quickly.
  8. DeeJay, I just rolled my fenders this week. I have a Eastwood fender roller and heat gun.
  9. For comparison two other APS GTOs in Ohio dynoed (Dynojet) the following about 2 months ago. 566.8 rwhp 541.6rwtq (Stock 2005 LS2) 581 rwhp 582 rwtq (Stock 2006 LS2) I would have thought that the LS1 you did would have had a higher rwhp considering my NA LS1 has 440. So far these cars have only run 12.4s and 12.7s at the track and one has destroyed a brand new and expensive Textralias clutch. (The inner disc welded to the flywheel). A third APS also has turned in a best 12.4. ...lots of power not so easy to tame.
  10. Hmmm Ohio drivers never have accidents in other states where they fall under the insurance regulations of those states...oh ok. You see a very small slice of the pie. Just remember some people view the medical community in the same way as you view the insurance industry. How many non-insured are turned away or over charged every day by doctors and medical institutions across this country? I'm sure you have a statistic on that one. One of my daughters who is not insured currently was just charge $1600 to treat tonsillitis. Her fault for not curretly having coverage but did it really take 3 doctors to diagnose and treat her? Hardly. Could she have been charged a much lower rate like the negotiated rates given to a insured person...hell yes. ...Hmmm negotiated rates...without insurance companies getting them the medical community would be a lot richer and the general public a lot poorer. ...and you just want to be paid like every one else. :bs: :bs: :bs:
  11. Each state dictates it's own insurance regulations that apply to medical bill payments and they do cover timeliness. Some states are just less stringent then others. Frankly our directive from management is to get the claim closed as quickly as possible. That's not even debatable. The bottom line is that keeping a claim open costs money. So your view on profit motive is absolutely mistaken. You make things sound just so easy but an insurance company must be able to provide proof that it handles all similar medical claims in the same manner and with the same outcome. Why because the insurance company will get sued if it's proven that it did not. That's a big reason for the review process and I'm sure that you are aware of it. ...its the insurance companies equivalent to taking steps to prevent being sued for malpractice to put it in terms you can relate to.
  12. I would say I know quite a bit more about why medical payments are delayed as I've worked on medical bill payment software for several years. A good amount of time it is delayed because of the medical provider fails to properly provide full documentation on the claim. Others because a peer review was ordered to justify the treatment (thats another doctor reviewing the case and treatment). There lots of medical fraud and insurers have to uncover it so that the fraud does not push up rates of all policy holders. Other times a injured party is required to get a second opinion and fails to cooperate in the process...which leads to delays. Other times the insureds coverage has reached its's limit and the company is no longer responsible for payment. I can go on and on and on. There are laws in every state that determine how quickly medical payments must be made and if there is a delay the insurance company must pay interest on the bills. The last thing an insurance company wants to do is to pay interest on these bills...if the procedure/bill was justified...and some are not.
  13. I work for Progressive Claims IT. Have never heard of a cancellation fee. If you're using a independent agent it might be his fee. If you use Direct (the web site ) or Drive (the 1-800 #) you pay no cost for agent markup when you buy a policy. As for as what an insurance company uses to calculate rates ...they are all different. So one company may hit you up for changing insurers frequently while other may not. ...but personally I don't see it in itself as a factor that would be used in calculating risk.

..plus DeeJay there were only only 5,009 black LS1s like ours made. Take a look at the 2004 GTO going sales price, its been hovering around 20K for over 2 years so the cars holding it's value. As more and more get totaled it's going to get harder to find this car really fast ....and personally I like having a car few other will be able to own.
  17. I use http://www.photobucket.com it's free for hosting pics and video...real easy to use.
  18. Very sorry to here this, hope the damage is minimal.
  19. LOL ...Well it was good meeting you out at Norwalk the other day Brian.

    New last fall

Roger over in zanesville ran an 11.7 in his LS2 with a shot. Best he did NA last year was 12.13...but he's twin turbo now so won't be doing anything NA. So that honor is still up for the first LS2.

Definitely not ram air but functional to a point. Air from the scoops is routed by ducts that dump over the front of the engine compartment. The driver side one dumps just over the K&N intake so technically its a path for cooler air. The hood also has a heat extractor in the back so functionally the hood is designed to allow cooler air in an give hotter air a way out. You can see the heat exchanger in the pic below. Also if you notice Lingenfelter designed my CAI with a barrier to separate the air going into the filter from the air in the engine compartment to try to keep it cooler. The air being dumped from the hood duct above helps this. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/GTO1/IMG_0115.jpg

The story behind that hood is this http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/GTO1/IMG_6438.jpg ...GMs Woodward prototype A bunch of us wanted this hood and so about 50 of us put down deposits on a pre-order with GravanaTuning to make the molds to make the hood. They make it now both in fiberglass and carbon fiber.
  24. ...and never introed myself. plus I have to do something to get some more post and get rid of that rice boy thing. So lets see...some of you guys saw my car and met me last week at Norwalk. No doubt I'll be at the fall rental. My car is the only new naturally asperated GTO that I know of that has run an 11 sec time in the state. That includes LS1 and LS2s. Only two other have broken into the 11s in the state one on a shot and the other has a SC. ...many more will follow. So how do I know this? I'm a moderator and one of the founders of http://www.BuckeyeGoats.com where I record the GTO ETs inthe state. I also record them on the national GTO site http://www.LS1GTO.com. So if you want to know anything GTO related fact or fiction I'll point you in the right direction.
  25. Be honest ... you sped up the video. LOL
