  1. I got a Mega Billet combo and I'm looking at using this for my SBR build.

I'm leaning toward a 11.5 or 12.5" barrel right now because I plan on suppressing this down the road and have read that you can really ruin your suppressor if you go to short. I also want to keep decent ballistics at the 200yd range. I generally shoot 62-75gr loads. I'm looking for others input that have used the 10.3" 11.5" and 12.5" barrel lengths and what route you would go.

  2. It sounds like your opinion is skewed based off of the people you surround yourself with. It's like you said, everyone will react differently but, you should have an idea of what you're going to do before the situation ever arises. This wouldn't be the first time you've ever been put in a fight or flight situation. What have you done in the past in less life threatening situations? Personally, I think you should have a pretty good handle on how you would react to various situations before you're even put into it. It's part of being a responsible CCW holder.
  3. I really don't think anywhere close to even 50% (and I'm afraid this is being generous) of CCW holders that carry would be able to hit the target in the heat of the moment. Between focusing enough to get it out of the holster quickly, taking the safety off, loading the chamber, and not just taking the shot, but making the first shot effective because that may be the only shot you have.

You can run a dry practice all you want, but no telling until you get a real adrenaline rush from seeing a weapon pointed at you or someone else.

If you don't have a round chambered you're carrying wrong. Both parties in this situation or going to have high adrenaline as well, practicing is what helps you overcome the adrenaline rush when it hits you. If me or someone I know directly isn't being assaulted, I expect that person to handle their own business, I'm not going to play hero. If my attacker isn't within 5 ft, I'm not in a situation requiring me to use my firearm.

I won't spend money at BDubs because they are anti gun. I won't bank with BOA because they are anti gun. Companies like this do donate to like minded political groups and that's not something I want to support.

I've also never seen a sign outside of any building telling me not to carry unless it's a government building either, so I'm always carrying.

  4. I have never heard of that issue before. LMT non-enhanced bolts are just like your bolts in any other AR. Colt, DD, Spikes. The Enhanced carrier is not recommended for any ar15 that has a barrel shorter than 14.5 inches according to LMT. But then, people play around with different buffers and fixes the problem.

I think I got it all mixed up. People having trouble using the enhanced on their SBR but I guess they have gotten it worked out.

I got my Mega Billet upper/ lower ambi combo which will go toward my SBR in 9mm or 5.56. It'll go well next to my Mega forged.

  5. Check out OVO for a Kahr K9. They had a ton of police trade ins for 360 OTD I think it was. That's where I got mine and it's been flawless, plus you don't have to spend your money on the break in ammo, which I would run about 800rds through a Kahr before you make any judgements on it or the trigger pull.

I like to use this. It's very similar to the 100+ dollar 5.11 Competition bag but half the cost. It has plenty of pockets for magazines and it has two spots inside of the bag for pistols which will stay very well protected with the rest of the bag filled up. There will also be plenty of room left over for your eyes, ears, brass you'll be bringing home, cleaning supplies and ammo.

  7. I got my Aimpoint Micro T1 in with 2 moa dot. Waiting on the LaRue mount to show up, which will be absolute co-witness. I still need to get some irons on this.

  8. well hmm, then what would you recommend as a pocket mouse gun?

I'm a big fan of Kahr. I've had the CW9 which I liked but moved up to a K9. The Kahr PM9 would be a great pocket gun. My buddy got this after his Kel Tec went out on him.

Diamondback is similar to Kel Tec but I haven't heard of the same issues with them. I know Hoblick had one of these.

Another option would be a Sig P290 RS. If you look at these make sure you're looking at the RS as they fixed some issues their first model was released with.

  9. I would never buy a PF9. My friend had to send his back into Kel Tec after 1200 rounds and they replaced everything on his. They said he shot it out.

I've read so many reviews on how great their customer service is, which it is. I just wouldn't consider a PF9 as a daily carry.

If you want a EDC, Kahr all the way.
