If you do go into a memory foam and think you'll want to get a Tempur Pedic I'd do the trial period or make sure the store you purchase from has a return policy that allows you to return it after trial. It normally takes a person ~2 weeks to get used to the switch from a spring mattress to a memory foam.

Itunes > Preferences > Devices Look at your settings in there. Also, check the package on the cord, it may not be a data cable like stated above, it should say on the package bright as day. If it's connecting and charging then it should connect it to the computer unless it just isn't a data cable.

When you have Itunes open there should be a preference that will ask, do you want itunes to automatically connect/ recognize ipods. Do you want it to autosync and all that stuff. You may have to change some of those settings. I have all my ITunes setting set so that it won't recognize my Ipod unless I do the connection manually, most people I know don't do this, it might be the problem.

Take a look into purchasing an Older Generation Iphone as well. With a dumby SIM card in it it will function exactly like an Itouch. Just letting you know so you have more options to look into. You didn't listen very well in driving school. Don't ever grab the drivers wheel. You're lucky you both didn't react to the situation. Sorry to hear about the car. Bad winter drivers took my E30 a few years ago.
