what's the plate say, i'm at work and it isn't showing. and dude, do something about the lights on your car

beat me to it. i always quote it that its a tax on those that did not do well in math class----same thing. gambling at a casino---i can understand. its entertainment, there's drinking, the social interaction, etc. etc. i can't for the life of me understand playing the lotto. sure, someone wins, but its such an astronomical longshot, you're more likely to trip over a dufflebag filled with $100 bills walking down the street than you are to win the lotto.

don't worry, once we fully go to a socialized medical system even if you need major joint surgery, there will be a significant wait. imagine tearing your acl and being told that you're on the list for surgery-----just have to wait 2 years. knee arthritis is an absolute epidemic with all the fat people in the u.s., as well as people being active longer in life. chances are, you'll have to have a major joint operated on in your lifetime.

there are 1000 different ways to rehab an ACL tear. i'm assuming by a 'broken bone', you mean its a tiny little flake of bone very commonly seen with an ACL tear that is completely insignificant. you should be bearing weight on the leg shortly after the surgery, but it will be 3-6 months before you do any running and 6-12 months before you do activities that involve cutting (basketball, soccer, football). good luck. the number one reason for failed ACL surgery is related to surgical technique. the number two reason involves reinjury, so follow the rehab protocol.

great thread, will read again later today. you need a mugen twin loop exhaust kit.

put yourself in your roommies shoes---would you want to sleep on a piss futon?? make drunk guy buy a new one---plain and simple. there's no amount of spray that can undo the damage that's been done. a new one is the only answer that makes sense.

start looking at the classified section on svtperformance.com---easily the largest collection of these cars you'll see for sale. you'll see plenty of these cars that have passed through multiple owners, with multiple set-ups. then you'll see some one-owner examples where the owner is looking to upgrade---usually to a c6z. good luck

you won't see many '03/04 cobras rolling around---nor will you see many GTO's either. my question is that you say you want a car with refinement, yet you want a car that can make lots of power with bolt-ons. you can't have both for $20k. you want a refined car (merc/bmw/etc.) and you will pay bigtime for maintenance and modifications, as well as the entry price. you want an american v8 (vette, cobra, gto) and they will not be too refined once the mod bug hits you and you have a loud-ass car with a lopey cam. my cobra idles like a stocker, has A/C, is still comfortable to drive, and makes 590rwhp all day long. plenty like mine for sale in the low, low 20's---i've got 18k miles on it. anyone that matters will know its not an ordinary mustang, and i wouldn't recommend buying cars to make an impression on other people, unless you're talking about taking business clients out.
-
i wouldn't pay over $10k for that car.
-
car sounds great, good numbers for a stocker. hell my LS2 GTO had a catback and K&N intake and only put down 344rwhp before a tune

i'm shocked some people actually think this way.

i'm not an expert, but i did take a shit at a holiday inn yesterday

the first gym i joined was central fitness in grandview, which then became built solid fitness, or something like that. we all lifted together during the week, and worked at b. hampton's bar on third st. over the weekend. it was an awesome gym with the 'old school' feel to it. then i spent the next 3 years at jesse owens south, where i met my wife--used to work out 6-7 days a week. after that we worked out at our condo complex for a year. then, we joined california fitness for a year. after that, we worked out at world's gym in hilliard--which was nice, for 3 years. then we joined the ymca in hilliard for 2 years, the ymca in florida last year, and the ymca in wisconsin right now. i guess i've worked out at a ton of different places--that doesn't even include college. i think i'll bench tomorrow.

i'm assuming you had a lis franc fracture---which is a terrible fracture to have. the hardware (screws) get left in place. if you develop arthritis of the midfoot (which i'm guessing you have), they remove the screws, fuse the arthritic bones (to decrease pain), and partially release your gastroc muscle at the heel to give you more motion in the ankle to compensate for the small decrease in motion you'll have with the foot fusion. it all makes sense. these are horrible injuries---they take a year or more to recover from.

+1 for the Y. my kids have swimming there, daycare, tons of other activities, and they've got more than enough weight for anyone in this thread. just stay out of the locker room, and you'll be fine. never understood the need to walk around naked, but i pretty much don't go in the locker room at our y for any reason.

not a good idea, plain and simple---just tell him no. if you already agreed, you can tell him that you've thought about it more, and don't think its a great idea. what kind of a cheap-ass asks his brand new neighbor to mooch internet??

great intro. welcome to the site. great looking cars you have there kirk

Buy a new Vette and assemble the motor yourself
kirks5oh replied to 2highpsi's topic in Passing Lane
don't know if i'd spend $6k to do this. $3k, probably. why not?? the tech is not going to let you fuck things up. its warrantied just the same as every other vette. -

don't take a chance. unless your orthopod sees bone lesions on a daily basis, i would not accept that answer. like i said, it looks fine to me, but if you want reassurance, there can be no one better within 4 hours than dr. mayerson for treating a bone tumor---even if all he does is say its normal, which is likely what will happen
-
difficult to tell from the images, but its likely a benign bone island, or a bone cyst. my advice is always to see an orthopedic surgeon who can look at all the studies--the xrays, and complete mri. it is an incidental finding--meaning its completely unrelated to your recent injury. dr. joel mayerson at OSU is an orthopedic oncologist---he looks at bone lesions for a living. make an appointment with him as he is the absolute authority in the field. i take care of knee pain/injuries/arthritis for a living and if you walked into my office i'd refer you to someone like dr. mayerson.

post some pics of your iroc..................................... preferably detached from the double wide. you wouldn't walk into mcdonalds looking for a job, and tell the manager "i like burgers", when asked to say something about yourself--would you?? in all seriousness, make a decent introduction. read some of the other examples on the site.

+1000 i met my wife at jesse owens south. didn't have a cell phone, or a laptop back then.

Anyone else notice that their car isnt as fun anymore?
kirks5oh replied to V8 Beast's topic in Passing Lane
there's a point at which a modded car becomes a 'work only' car---'work only' means whatever you've built it for---drag racing, auto-x, car shows, fag-drifting, off-roading, etc. it will excell only at that one purpose and be miserable if attempted to use in any other way. you've turned your car into a work-only car. time to de-mod it, sell it, or buy something else to use as a fun street car (which is what it sounds like you wish you had right now). a fun street car is the hardest thing to build, due to the never ending temptation to take things too far. a fun street car makes good power (whatever that means these days), is comfortable on the freeway, can be driven anywhere, rarely breaks anything, and can still be tolerated by the opposite sex/significant other.
