  1. welcome to the site. i'm at work, so could someone please describe the pictures to me. for some reason, i'd love to have a high revving 4valve 96-98 cobra as a daily.
  2. welcome to the site. never mind the whole 'kill yourself' comment i made previously. +rep from a fellow "my wife hates my hobby" person
  3. welcome to the site. good luck with the build
  4. "right up your alley" nobody says "down your alley". i like blue cars, so i guess you're in.
  5. aren't all women like that??
  6. i'm trying to finish my car as well. looking to add a whistle tip to the exhaust and a fake nitrous purge kit. then i'm going to add about 200lbs to the left rear tire.
  7. i hope you'll do 'the right thing' corey and light yourself on fire
  8. i give him until tomorrow afternoon before he steals something/tries to kill someone. imagine what could have been if he would have stayed out of trouble, and stayed in college
  9. keep it as your daily driver---don't get rid of a well-running car that you won't get shit for. find an insurance company that gives you a discount for a 'secondary car' that barely gets driven, and insure whatever car you buy as your secondary car. state farm has this, for instance. its a pretty decent discount
  10. this type of posting could best be described as "highly vaginal"
  11. that sucks. just as long as you always, always use jackstands, everything else is purely cosmetic and fixable
  12. don't worry, you'll change your mind several times in the next few years
  13. body looks a little rough, but the underside looks good to me. no rust on the floorpan so far as i can tell. definitely something leaking onto the crossbrace-- car has a 5 lug swap, which is a good selling point. i'm sure there might be more room on the price to negotiate. seems like a pretty reasonable car to me. good luck with the sale
  14. my next mod on my ford explorer, that i daily drive (all city miles), and get 14mpg with. my GTO gets 18-19mpg all city miles. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fake-Blow-Off-Valve-Turbo-Sound-Whistler-BOV-Exhaust_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2c53e85725QQitemZ190386296613QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  15. i like to attract as little attention to my cars as possible at all times. i bought my cobra for what it was/is--a monster right out of the box. the only exception to liking a nice car for it being a nice car is my wife and her SUV. i used to rev the '87 GT in my sig back when i was in college. i did it all the time, until it was keyed. used to get notes once a month in my apartment complex in grad school to fix my 'broken exhaust'. i'd rather not have people get jealous or notice my car. maybe that will change, but probably not.
  16. i'll take a picture of the evo and sti that are parked right by my shop--the guys are neighbors, and i'll let you be the judge as to what kind of money they make---not that it matters, plenty of broke people drive mustangs, sti's, gto's, camaros, etc. anyone who buys a car solely because they want other people to be jealous of them is retarded.
  17. my cobra made 505rwhp with stock headers, and 4 stock cats. just a 2.5" catback and minimal mods. its whisper quiet. still has stock headers, and cats, but now makes north of 600rwhp. you're the only one who's slow. and i'm not bashing 4 cylinder cars, just pointing out some facts
  18. sure, if you plan on working at burger king. if you work in a typical office you will find that 95% of your coworkers are not into cars--they will only associate you as the guy who looks like he belongs on "the fast and the furious" part 8, with the annoyingly loud car. and as much as i argue/fight with the audi guys here---YOUR mustang does not look anything like their cars. its painful to admit, but an absolute undeniable fact that you should be made aware of.
  19. not correct. i've got $1500 (catback/intake/tune) in my GTO and i'm close to 400rwhp--with longtubes, i'd be there, with a cam, maybe 425. but i prefer a near-stock car for daily driving purposes. i paid $21k for it 3 years ago, with 11k miles on it--that's a total investment of $23k if you count the shifter and drag radials too. no way you're going to touch that in a clean evo or sti. tell me how much you think it would take to get an evo that clean (2 years old), with that mileage, and take it to 500rwhp?? please, wake up. and i can get 25mpg on the freeway at 70mph all day long. plus i have a car that i can drive to work, be seen by my coworkers, even take people from work around in----without looking like the guy who's about to ram a schoolbus with his deathtrap. the car starts every time and drives like a stocker in every way. maybe your co-workers will be impressed with a 4" fartcan and the BOV
  20. don't think your car will sell for that much, no offense. all this assumes you don't run into any financial issues, and are comfortable dumping all your savings into the car. make sure you research insurance, and prepare for any increase if you get a ticket(s). also take into account maintainence, and no doubt, modifications and/or breakage.
  21. i should have bought a house in tampa before i left last year. the market down there absolutely crashed. there were 100 foreclosures in the subdivision we were renting in. houses that were 320k were going for just over 200k when we left---amazing houses that were 2-3 years old with top-end cabinets, granite, good appliances--2300 sq ft, in a gated community
  22. see my previous post. my father in law had the solstice with catback, chip, intake, bov, and a downpipe if i recall. it was a fast little car, that's for sure
  23. great intro chaz. welcome to the site
