+1 I love the idea of my wife driving around in a 550+ hp car right up until she spun it out into a snow drift at the gas station a few months ago. The v has stayed in the garage since that incident. It does not do well in the snow

+1 cts-v sedan gets my vote. if you have small kids, you need 4 doors. trust me. i have several 2+2 cars and its ALWAYS a pain to load the kids in the back---seems like it wouldn't be, but it is. you can find plenty of '10's for much less than $50k. hell, i bought my '10 two years ago with 10k miles on it for bottom $50's. find a two year old model and enjoy LSA power with 3 more years left on the factory powertrain warranty. these cars don't do well in the winter unless you've got all season tires, and even then..... if you need something to get around in the snow in, i'd go AWD then. my view is slightly skewed on this, as i live in wisconsin, and once we get snow, it stays on the road for a while.

don't think you'll get one at invoice anywhere, but plenty are selling below MSRP. -

lol. maybe i'll hold a party at road america for one of the races this summer. :fuckyeah: -
even an rx7 roller will take you well above that mark. seriously, with a $3k budget why even bother?? better off buying a reliable daily driver---and even then, $3k is not a stellar budget.

tell me about it.

i understand. plenty of people are incredibly happy with their gt500's. these cars put down insane amounts of power. some guy the other day on svtperformance put down 620 rwhp bone stock. ford should have given the car a better clutch, and stuck with 3.55 gears instead of 3.27's (or whatever the car comes with stock). ford should have also gotten wider tires out back. i simply could never get the car to hook. even in second gear. i had to do a light burnout just to heat the tires up so the car was somehwat safe to drive. i would literally have the rear of the car go out on me trying to feather the car around a simple turn. the clutch was too grabby. i loved the interior of the car, the seats, the sound, the fit/finish of the car was miles ahead of my z06. but a modded c6z spoils your take on just about every other car when it comes to performance. i got my car in september---cold as balls here in wisconsin. couldn't get the car to hook at all, ever. that combined with all the issues i had put a bad taste in my mouth. add to that the horrible customer service i got from a dealership 45 minutes away, and you could only imagine how pissed the situation made me. hell i still have the car in my garage, maybe i should be driving it. -

Thanks but no thanks here. Mine's going back to ford as a lemon -
replaced it with a GTR, ford is refunding my money. who knows, maybe i'll buy another one. probably going to wait and get the next zr1 though.
-
Yep. And the rear whined like crazy. Had the ring gear swapped out and it still did it. Car has 1700 miles on it and is being lemoned out right now. Oh well. Just bought enough mods for my gtr to wipe the floor with just about anything.
-
Congrats. Hope you have better luck with it than I had with mine

+1000 holy cow, just listen to the guys on here. some people are just hell bent on making horrible auto decisions and they are ALWAYS the exact people who cannot afford to do that. my advice is to go just a bit below your budget and save the rest for potential repairs, as opposed to sinking it into some other car. there's a time and place for having 'toys'. you are not in that time or place at this point in your life. no offense intended

so what you're saying is that given the chance to fix your knee/thigh/back, you would rather be disabled?? i'm telling you that your physical injuries (if they are real) are curable. if you truly suffered ptsd (which i doubt), that could be seen as permanent. everything else is bullshit. do you realize how funny it would seem to everyone who meets you (when they observe that you are completely normal physically), when/if they found out that you receive 100% disability. it isn't the least bit embarassing when you go to the va hospital, see an amputee and realize they don't get 100% disability?
-
the docs that do the disability tests are bottom-feeding trolls, who cannot run a successful medical practice because:: they are too fucking dumb they are complete social idiots who scare patients off they are on the brink of retirement and are so out of touch with current medical practice it is unsafe for them to see real patients or they are actually medical residents who have taken the 4 hour course to do disability checks. either way, the fact that you admittedly forgot about the check proves the point further that you are full of shit with your disability claims. and yes, most of your injuries are reversible. the compressed discs in your back can be decompressed (VERY favorable outcomes for younger patients). the thigh can be rehabilitated and you can strengthen supporting muscles to compensate for the lost ones (even though this was your fault and should not be covered by uncle sam), and whatever knee injury you think you have is correctible. what is the exact nature of the knee injury?? as far as the ptsd---bullshit. next, you'll claim that the guy who pulled nun chucks on you, gave you ptsd.
-
What was the brain trauma? PTSD. Lol The thigh injury was from fucking around and not in the line of duty, correct? Any knee or back injury in a 20 year old man is completely curable Christ alive, what a fucking bitch
-
lol. so instead of buying a family car that is 100% reliable....... i could lecture on and on about how expensive kids are, but i'd have more luck explaining this to the fucking wall.
-
+1 some people are quitters in life---always blaming others, looking for handouts, looking to sue people and get free money, claiming they're disabled for some ticky-tack injury most would shake off and move on. ultimately, these people will fail in life, no matter how many freebies are given to them. proof of this:::: instead of saving the money he's just won from the gov't---or maybe buying his wife a new vehicle, he's going to buy a drag pack and ricer body kit for a car that will blow up 6 hours after it gets tuned because he turns up the boost, and/or wrecks it.
-
you're a bitch because most of those participating in the corvette forum thread actually believed your tuner told you it was ok to drive the car to 6200rpms with an 8psi tune. we all know brian would never advocate adding 4psi to a turbo car, with boost leaks galore, as well as adding an intake and then cruising around at 6200 rpms. so instead of admitting that YOU made the mistake, you simply implied your 'anonymous' tuner. like a bitch. what if someone asked you to name the shop where it was tuned?? most with intelligence in that thread could see through your bs. i'm an active member on that site, and no, people don't always blame the tuner. grenading that motor was YOUR fault---100%.
-
bullshit. you clearly stated you would go to IPS because they've built the fastest........ you said nothing about retaining the current tuner. everyone was commenting that you should switch tuners, and you made the IPS comment. what do you think they would have said on the forum if you said "i'm going to stick with the same tuner, just have him tune it at a different location"?? makes zero fucking sense. if you were going to have brian tune your car with the next build, why would it have to be done at IPS? why not get it done at brian's place?? either:: 1) you truly think brian screwed your car up 2) you didn't want to admit on cf that the blown motor was 100% your fault, and you were blaming it on the tuner just for the sake of not looking like a dumbass to complete strangers on the internet--who can clearly see how dumb you are regardless. which one is it?? i will vouch for brian as well, for being a stand up guy, who is very professional, and always conservative with his tunes/etc.
-
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-forced-induction-nitrous/3178559-help-build-my-next-engine-402-or-408-for-boost.html blaming the tuner halfway down the first page. no amount of tuning can save a car from a retarded owner, who adds an intake, turns up the boost, etc. without rechecking the tune. should have specified in the previous post who the implied retard is. lol
-
call your bluff on what?? having $16k in the bank account?? not sure if that's supposed to be a crazy amount of money or what?? ever go to the atm and see enough in your account to buy a house?? sure seems like you're bad mouthing brian and dynotune on the corvette forum thread----what say you?? no amount of tuning in the world can cure 'retard'.
-
or being a fucking dumbass and driving what i consider an untuned (for that boost level) car to 6200 rpms in 3rd gear. understand 3rd gear puts much more load on the engine than 1st/2nd. any time you make changes on a boosted car, it should be retuned before pushing it at all. that means when you added 4psi more, you should not have gotten into boost at all. again, you're a fucking moron.
