no you're fine when it comes down to it all cars will have some issues with age. from what I have read about and seen in the past jeeps just have less.

I agree, which is why I am on number 14. I wanted a newer Cherokee Sport like yours, but my Labs like more room hence the Grand Cherokee. Onec you get through some of the typical Jeep items, they make a great bulletproof ride!

Would you worrry about a 96 jeep w/ 150k on it for $2k?

 

Sport model, 4x4, 4dr, power windows/locks/cruise, auto?

 

It's got some miles but everyone says the 4.0l is indestructible, and $2k is a lot less than $4k.

OK I know Skinner is going to jump all over me on some of this, however some Jeep things to consider since I am on my 14th Jeep.

A 96 I would not worry about if it has been maintained, a later model has the potential for oil pressure problems, yes I know the indestructible 4.0. Also I have seen high mileage 4.0's have head gasket issues, not many, but enough.

However I would agree on taking a Cherokee over a CRV or Xb. You will get more car and a stronger car for the same money. I bought my 02 Grand Cherokee Limited for 5k with 94k on it. You might look into a Grand Cher as well, they DO NOT get a whole lot worse gas mileage than a Cherokeee if they are up to date on servicing.

i mean it looks beat but i did take like 5 months taking that motor out of that impala in the other pic.. took out the v6.. installed mounts a header (had to lift the motor) bend some of the piping fix leaks have a drive shaft cut and i installed it just to find out the tranny wont come out of park.. i went through alot on this car busted fingers and blood everywhere sprayed in my eye with dirt and rust off buttom of the car .. laying in the rain (rain in summer is bullshit) Oh and the thing thats took the cake is 18 junk yards looking for little shit like screws bolts mechanical fan and a gage cluster .. no one helped me or said Hey man can i come over for a beer and watch u work on it .. it was me Inbetween Chemisty and ME202 while bartending washing oil stainds off my hands for hours so people dont say Ewww dont serve my drink with those dirty nails i found hell and its name is 83 camaro.. now the dam thing is done and i cant get it out of park T I H S L L U B

Now you see how this car can become the excuse for the drunken nights. Big rule, never spend more on the beer than the parts for the car, well at least until you get to a certain age then it becomes acceptable.

I have a set of Accel 24lb injectors and mass air flow sensor from my Mustang. The mass air I believe is a stock Fox size housing but calibrated for the injectors. The car had great drivability just not enough fuel for the boost.

Asking $100 OBO. Just cleaning out all of the stuff I am not going to use so no reasonable offer will be refused.

I have some stereo equipment that I bought and not going to use.

1. JL Audio 500/1 mono amp, which is in good working order, and good cosmetic condition. $175.00 OBO

2. JL Audio 300/4 4 channel amp, good working order and cosmetic condition. $175 OBO

I have the rear seat from my 86 GT it is gray in color and in decent shape. the backs are missing the side mounts, and the plastic around the handles are broken, but the cloth is in good shape. Carpet backing is faded.

I have 5 94-95 Mustang GT 17 inch wheels for sale. Wheels are in decent condition, probably some curb rash, but nothing major I recall. They have tires on them, but the tires are mismatched and pretty much gone. they are the tri bar wheels. I was going to use them for autox, but have decided to change that setup. They do have the center caps, but no lugs.
