Goal is to have a quick daily driver that can handle some autocross duty as well, but reliability is key. I've been checking out the RMM, did you go with the 60 or 75? From what I'm reading the 60 might be a better choice since I drive it to work every day. How does this change the feel of the car? I'm starting to get used to the finicky shifting on this car but it still takes time.

Just bought an 08 Mazdaspeed3, I know there are at least a couple people on here with them. What is a good route to start with for basic engine mods? Any recommendations on companies to stick with? Cobb, CP-E, etc. Basically I'm just looking for opinions here, it's a daily driver but that doesn't mean I can't have some fun with it. Biggest thing I'm looking at now is intake and exhaust, but there are so many out there that I can't decide. Corksport exhaust sounds pretty good, anyone have some different?

You sound like a truly fun and easy going person who would be a joy to have around. :lolguy:

This is because they actually ticket people for camping in the left lane, whereas here it's just a "suggestion". It's also a ticketable offense to run out of gas on the autobahn because it causes traffic jams.

If you're looking to move, may want to check out Progressive up here in Mayfield. With sales experience you could start out doing inbound sales (quoting people on the product, or following up on previous quotes trying to close the sale). Not sure if you would start out quite at what you're looking for, but it's really an amazing company to work for and if you do good in sales there are hundreds of other ways to move up through the company. If you're looking to get into a large company and make a career out of it, Progressive is a good place. Insurance is growing right now, we're doing the best as far as policies in force and being written since early 2000's. Benefits are pretty great too. After a while they will let you work from home too which is awesome, but you'd most likely have to move to the Cleveland area to start out.

If it is the targeted behavioral type interview like mentioned earlier in the thread, I can help a little bit. I did that exact kind of interview for Progressive for about 3 hours, and it helps tremendously to think of situations you've had before where you had to make difficult choices and how you made them. Don't just think about work situations, bring up something from college or another area and how you handled the situation. You can exaggerate things slightly, but if you make something up completely you'll stumble on it when they ask you to go into detail and it goes downhill from there. If they start asking those questions, here's a good method to make sure you answer everything in full. Describe the situation and who was involved, describe the task you were given, explain what you did to accomplish the task, and then tell them the end result. Cover all bases. Progressive was very clear with me that I would be doing that specific interview though, and even had some example questions I would be asked so that helped. If you've got any more questions about the behavioral interview stuff send me a PM.

Winner. Sometimes I'm surprised by people I know who smoke also, but it's because most people over the age of 24 don't go around bragging about it or wearing shirts with pot leaves on them. And the people who do brag about it are probably working 15 hours a week at KFC.

Interesting. Seems like it wouldn't be an issue with policies directly through a company then, just through agents? Sounds like you are the reason we get people calling in bitching about why a ticket they removed showed up again .
-
Yep, and a lot of people don't realize this too. Insurance company points are not equal to license points, and they decide what kind of scale they use. For instance, in some cases your first speeding ticket may be 2 insurance points, but then if you get a second one with the first ticket still on your record, they may assign different points. It also depends a lot on what state you're in. Also, I recommend people check with their carriers about mid-term violation removal. Not everyone does this, but if the state allows it and the company does as well, you can call in and have the violation removed before your next renewal if it meets some requirements. Usually it'll need to have been after the chargeable period for the violation, along with having no new violations since your current term started. Again, this isn't something that will be proactively offered, but if you call in and specifically request it then they may be able to remove it. (And if the first customer service rep says no, try back a few more times. Sometimes you just need to get someone who knows what they're doing.)

Check Progressive, not only because I work there but because I know they are well known for not raping people because of an SR22. Not saying it won't jack up your rates a little bit, but they're one of the better companies for drivers with state filings.
-
Yea that's where I work, if you end up just taking the ticket it'll show up on your insurance on your next 6 month term. They stay on for 35 months. I recommend calling, asking them to quote what it would be if a ticket were to show up on your record (out of "curiosity"). Figure out how much that will cost over the next 3 years, then decide if it's worth it to fight or not. Having one speeding ticket on your insurance is a larger increase than having one DUI.
-
Not sure who your insurance company is, but the one I work for will run MVR reports to check for tickets or accidents every 6 months when your renewal term is up. If it doesn't show up on the state report, then we don't know about it (unless you're dumb and tell us over the phone, which people actually do).

First sign of mental instability: posting threats on the internets.

None on here yet, but my last rep received was someone calling me a communist nutjob. Also I think I got an infraction on cleveland racing for posting a malicious website. Apparently rickrolling someone with a window that keeps jumping around the screen is malicious.

Any thoughts/comments on a Mazda Miata
Flyin Miata replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Passing Lane
PM me if you have any specific questions, I own a 91. Check out http://www.miata.net and http://www.clubroadster.net , the second site is more for the modding crowd. I can honestly say they are some of the most fun cars to drive, and that's just stock. Throw some forced induction on it and you have a street legal go-kart. If you're keeping the engine, supercharger is probably the easiest way to add power. It doesn't take a ton of money to make a Miata fun. And for people who think it's a gay car, at least you can leave a Mustang behind in the turns. -
A lot of big companies offer work at home options, but generally you have to work there in a building for a bit before they let you work from home. I know Progressive does that with phone reps and IT people, and I know someone who did customer service work for 1-800-FLOWERS from home too.

Thoughts/Comments on 1970-80's Triumph Spitfire cars
Flyin Miata replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Passing Lane
If it has Lucas electronics, you better learn how to wire that entire car. I'd vote TR6, probably not much more reliable but way cooler. -
Just broke my glasses. Can't wait to not be able to see threads like this.
