Fan is built into the unit. When it gets hot enough it pulls air in thru ones of its openings and recirculates the hot air out. Mine is on the back. Nothing to do to your existing fireplace as long as your opening matches up to the insert. The insert just slides right into the fireplace opening. The insert has its own flew opening that lines up with the fireplace. After it is in just plug it in to your nearest receptacle.

I would do a new 600 with an electric choke also. You don't want that old manual choke. After you get the electric choke adjusted it will be well worth it.

The model I have is not being made anymore but you still see them for sale. $ 100-300.00 in the summer time. They are built like a tank I have gone thru at least 2 cords so far. They make 3 different sizes.

You ever think about getting an insert ? I have an old Buck Stove insert with a built in blower that has a thermostat which will regulate the fan speed. The hotter your fire is the higher the fan speed.

The Monte Carlo story is just a nice old memory that I have and the thread topic reminded me of it again.

Hard to say how people would react today in the same situation. Different world we live in today.

I have few memories of that storm. I'm not a great story teller but here it goes. I remember this the most. I was a young teenager at the time. My Dad had a 75 Monte Carlo that he special ordered with swivel bucket seats,console,gauges,400 small block instead of the 350,silver with a red landau top . I remember sitting next to him at the dealership at the time he was negotiating the deal. He never let much of anything stop in from going to work or anything in general. At the start of the storm with plenty of snow on the ground he wanted to go to the store and I remember being in the pass seat while he was giving that monte carlo hell . We had to turn back after only making it a few blocks down the road. Things were really different back then.

Well everyone is entitled to there opinion but I disagree . I think the punishment should fit the crime. Life in jail with free tv,food,bed and shelter ,etc in my book does not fit the crime here.

Maybe he and his family should have had the choice of being executed in the same way he killed his victim. Rape and fatal stabbing ?

The only issue I have is that it to long for the state to carry this out.

I like the looks of the rear. Simple,Bold,Clean look. Don't care for the front end grill. Why put that plate/cover in the center ? The sides look boring. Maybe a small rear deck spoiler would balance it out. The interior is not much better. That dash and steering wheel looks terrible.
