  1. I run Forced Induction Sport, dont have the bankroll to compete with the likes of Rob Morse and some of the others in SFWD honestly. Not very fun stepping into the ring knowing you're going to lose already haha. His car goes 8.7's, totally different class of cars. FIS is the most competative class though in my oipnion, it has he biggest racer count out of the turbo classes. Hell last year a 10.8 sohc Honda won the class over an evo that has gone 9s in the past.
  2. Excited to see some passes out of this car in 2013!!
  3. My wife really likes EK hatches, but the price people want for them right now is asinine.
  4. Went to the junkyard today with a couple buddies to not only trounce around in the mud but to find some parts. Came out with the following: Mint door panels to replace the current ones which have some sort of red wrapping on them. Got super lucky enough to find the exact ones we needed Rear Mud Flaps (gonna get front ones as well) The trim molding that goes on the door under window (with all clips in tact) Came home and gave them a bath, they cleaned up pretty well. Dirty and looking unloved: http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/panels_zps8ca20a26.jpg Gave em a bath and they cleaned up nicely: http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/Panelscleandup_zpscbb88e8d.jpg Rear Flaps got cleaned up too: http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/rearflaps_zps9c18dd37.jpg
  5. Didnt the news report that the suspects id was found inside of the home, then they reported that they couldn't go inside yet due to it being too hot. So how did you find an id inside of the house lol
  6. The water temp gauge is a brand unknown. It seriously has no name on the packaging haha. I believe it is 52mm in size. $30 picked up http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/watertemp_zps75d16ded.jpg I am located in Newark, best way to get ahold of me is via text, 740-814-3936
  7. We finally got the car done being wet sanded, buffed and cleaned. Its amazing what some sand paper and rubbing compound can do to a cars appearance. 1. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/Buffed_zpse319100f.jpg 2. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/cleanedup_zps3dda7561.jpg 3. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/cleanedup2_zps391b5071.jpg 4. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/hoodcleanedup2_zps02387855.jpg 5. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/hoodcleanedup_zps19df0400.jpg 6 http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/535887_10151436837356907_2106902088_n_zps8867e454.jpg 7. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/baycleaned_zps033c253d.jpg
  8. The front windshield was missing the side trim panels, so where better to find them in mint condition than the dealership. Thank god for Majestic Honda, thats all I gotta say haha. Going to install there here in a little bit, should make the car look even better than it currently does. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/trim_zpsecad2976.jpg
  9. Haha I remember when people had all clear hoods on Hondas. The wife hates this hood so I don't foresee it being on the car very long
  10. I know right?! Thank god the windshield has been replaced, maybe reading beyond the first post would help you out next time I don't know how soon this thin will be turbo'd honestly. The clutch is not ideal for boost in my opinion, its just an Exedy stage 1, so basically stock clutch. Also the H series transmissions don't like a whole lot of abuse and to run a B series transmission is still pretty pricey (kits alone are over $800). For now she just wants to continue to clean it up, get it looking respectable and add little odds and end stuff here and there.
  11. I saw the IFO in Pittsburgh posted up last night, I think we are going to try and make that. There is so many Import events this year that its hard to decide which ones you can attend when working with a budget lol
  12. Well today we started buying/doing stuff to the car. First things first was to get it a new windshield. Richardson's in Newark was the cheapest around, safelite was cheaper til they added another $60 in bullshit fee's at the very end of their online quote lol. Anyways its amazing what a new windshield can do to a cars image. It looks a lot nicer already just by getting rid of the old busted one and that Civic banner everyone loved. The car was missing the side trim pieces on the windshield due to them being removed for pain and lost. So we ordered some new ones with clips from Honda today. Also, since it was nice out I decided to give it a quick rinsing to get the 2inches of dirt/dust off of it. I plan on wetsanding, buffing and full detailing it this weekend. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/579729_10151432330841907_679657784_n_zpsfc58a64d.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/580703_10151450737480295_438430428_n_zps0140ae8d.jpg
  13. News of course having a field day reporting that it was a semi-automatic gun that killed him.. I wasn't really on board with the conspiracy theory guys about the govt wanting to take guns away, but it seems everyday I read a story online and its nothing but gun used to kill
  14. ^^ You are not alone in your thinking. I will be watching for the commercials but do believe the 49ers will win. I think a mobile QB and the niners getting Vernon Davis involved will be enough to beat the Ravens D.
  15. Got some things for sale that are brand new in the box: No name - Water Temp Gauge- $40 Summit Racing External Shift Light: $40 P2R Vacuum Block (Black)- $30 As title states its all brand new and never used. Just have no use for the stuff. Located in Newark, 740-814-3936. I can send pics via text
  16. Lol, figured I would have some fun with the comments being posted. Yes ebay turbos are hit or miss, but why not use it until it goes. Its not like I have money wrapped up in the turbo. If it fails, oh well I will put the header back on, run it all motor until we buy a legit turbo. BTW alot of bigger name turbo's fail too. If its mechanical, it will break eventually.
  17. Yeah this is my first Honda build so I am sure I will learn many new things as I go along. Thanks though haha P.S made over 300hp on a ebay turbo and bone stock b20 on low boost many years ago with no issues from the turbo. Must just be lucky I guess lol One more edit, I would never use a turbonetic product. If/when this gets a different turbo it will be from Precision, hell it may end up with my 6262 should I decide to ever step up to a 67mm
  18. Only thing ebay is the turbo and wastegate, the wastegate will be swapped out with a PTE unit, as I am not a fan of boost creep. The turbo will most likely get swaped out for a Precision as well once it craps out lol. Theres not much left to build honestly. It has nice suspension, wheels, built motor, turbo kit. Just needs some TLC and get rid of the hood. Her car, her decisions. I wouldn't mind a OEM looking CF hood being put on, but we'll see. Yeah it is rust free and hasn't been hacked to hell and back.
  19. Windshield banner will be gone, the whole thing needs replaced as it has a crack on it. She is not a fan of the hood either lol, it is a VIS piece though so might stay for now
  20. This one is the wifes!! The car: 1995 Honda Civic EX Engine: H22a4 87.5mm Bore Darton Sleeves with a KMS Block Gaurd welded in for extra strength 8.5:1 Wiesco Pistons Eagle Rods (big bolt) Balanced Rotating Assembly Blue Printed Bottom End Stock Head Modified H22 Intake Manifold (Butterflys Removed) Drive Train: H23 Transmission 8lb Fidanza Flywheel Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Interior: Prelude Front Seats Skunk2 Weighted Knob Wheels/Tires/Suspension: Tein Super Street Coilovers Skunk2 Front Upper Strut Bar Skunk2 Front/Rear Camber Kits 16" Rota GT3's (Gold w/Silver lip) Falken Azenis RT-615 Rubber Oh yeah, came with complete GT35 turbo kit I'll post all the specs on that stuff once I get done going through it all. The story!! My buddy has owned the car the last 9 years and originally started building it in hopes of a 700hp monster. Somewhere along the line he got back into racing go-karts, became a trucker and had a child. So basically life has taken over and his time is limited, thus the car was put on the back burner. Three years ago he got ahold of me asking if I would be interested in trading our pick up truck for this car. We said no thanks at the time, over the next 2+ years we kept talking about possibly trading, when I was wanting to he wasn't and vice versa. Earlier this week he contacted me saying, lets trade. I sent him a text back and said ok, lets do it. So after 3 years of talks, we have finally pulled the trigger. The car was sprayed 2006 Dodge Blue, back in 06 by my Dad. The car has basically sat inside of a pull barn since that time. The motor was built by Dave Flemmings in Utica around the same time. Since then it has had 600 miles put on it. The wheels and tires have even less than that on em. For now the main focus/goals for the car is to get it cleaned up as its dusty and dirty as hell. After that I plan on putting my ecu out of my Integra in it and loading up a H22 map to get it running properly til we can get it to the tuner. Just going to get a good all motor tune on it for the time being and get the wife used to driving it and get her some seat time at the race track just so she can learn to lights and how to launch. From there it will get the turbo kit put on and retuned, boost will be turned down and gradually turned up as she gets more comfortable handling power. I will update with more pics as work/mods progress. For now here is a few shots I took today of it http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/Tacaras%20EG/250743_10151392186986907_1948327598_n_zps8f09129c.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/Tacaras%20EG/66478_10151392186816907_1949088242_n_zpsc036bf79.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/DaddyBuiltRacing/Tacaras%20EG/537104_10151392063126907_1686352643_n_zps54716636.jpg
  21. JP thats awesome, looking forward to seeing it at IFO. DTA09, I just wanna get back to my original goals. First is a 10.99 on pump gas. The second is the original goal for this car all together, which is/was a 10.5x pass. Anything above and beyond is just icing on the cake. I am going to focus on suspension tuning more this year. I plan on corner balancing and possibly changing suspension up. The current spring rates on it are still soft compared to most of the faster Hondas out there. I also want to shed some weight from the car, if I had to guesstimate it is every bit of 3k lbs with me in it which is heavy for a Honda. The car had 10s written all over it last year, just needed better traction out of the hole and some more seat time. I think boost by gear being setup this year will help with the out of the hole issues. The driver mod will be on my shoulders.
