Special teams has definitley not been very special the last couple years, so its whatever. I just never liked the idea of burning a kids redshirt unless it was absolutely needed or he was too damn good to keep off the field. Then again todays college player is all about making it to the NFL and getting paid so if you redshirt them and they have 2 monster seasons after that they are gone anyways. Wonder where Berry will end up at, its really sad how he turned out. I had such high expectations ou of that kid, his highlight tape had me so damn excited. Just another 5 star recruit that didn't really pan out, like Zack said some 5 stars never amount to shit, cough Connor Smith, cough Jamario O'Neal cough

I also have to question why any top highschool QB would pick ND, but year after year they attract one. Brady Quinn Dayne Christ 5* #2 qb in class Everrett Golson 4* (top qb in South Carolina in his class) Now Gunner Keil.. They were also in the running for Montana's son a couple years ago. You know who had a great class and is being over looked, Stanford...go check out the offensive line they just landed. 5 Star OT (#4 in country) 4 Star OT (#9) 4 Star OT (#26) 5 Star OG (#3) 4 Star Center (#4 center in the country) Plus 2 3* gaurds both #21 and 42

Did they never redshirt kids though? Im too lazy to go back and try finding that information. If he is using it at a ploy to get the best out of his recruits and current players then great. That is one thing I hated about Tress, it seemed like he would find a favorite player and just play them without much competition behind them. Apparently Nick Saban is up to his usual tactics. Last week he told a kid who was already comitted that there wasn't enough room for him and they were only taking 26. Well guess what? He lied lol. They are at 28 currently, they also apparently told another commit that he would have to grey shirt in order to come to Alabama. The NCAA seriously needs to look into shit like this, if you follow recruiting or cfb, pay attention next year to how many kids Alabama deems "ineligible or medical released".
