  1. I don't remember if it was announced in 2007 or 2008, but being conservative, 20K in 2008 dollars is a hair under 22K in 2012 bucks. So 2.5K over target for a car is not that bad. I doubt the 130r will have the low CG or low polar moment of inertia that the BRZ will have. I also wonder if they'll be able to keep the weight down. It is on Prius summer tires. Looking at the numbers, I think, like a Miata, it will prove to be a fantastically capable car in the corners. Every review has been very positive about the car's handling and it's feedback to the driver. It's been pretty much universally called a very *fun* car to drive, which was the goal from day 1.

  3. Haters Gonna Hate. I'm just going to enjoy the fuck out of my BRZ.
  4. Assuming the e-mail is legit.... It's about where I expected it. Subaru has stated they want the BRZ to start at 25K. I figure it'll inflate a little. So high 25, low 26 for the Premium and high 27 low 28 for the Limited. Hopefully Subaru will announce the prices now that Toyota has and put an end to all the hare-brained speculating going on.
  5. I doubt that's the oldest since the internet has been around since AL Gore used a roll of bailing twine, half a pack of chewing gum, and the ignition coil from a Prius to create it in the mid 70s. Though I think 4chan retroactively predates the internet.
  6. Just his career? I think his life might be over...
  7. :lolguy: I'll try to hack up this small kitten (with large claws) in my lungs before then.
  8. Post photo-shopped gay porn of the CR mods... ..on ANOTHER forum.
  9. I hope to be there again. Maybe I won't oversleep too. I'm sorely tempted to bring the ambulance.
  10. Yeah they had big balls, but they didn't LIKE racing like that. The driver's organization was the main force behind making tracks and cars safer. It may have take a different breed of man to race back then, but those men would still rather race on today's tracks with today's cars and safety equipment. The boycott they went over in the show wasn't the only time the drivers refused to race.
  11. The STI is my baby. I plan to own it until I die. I was deeply into the STI for 4 years prior to even owning it. I knew what I wanted to do with it before I even bought it. I love that car and every time I dive it I'm surprised with how sharply it responds and the amazing amount of grip. The WRX is my race car. I do have an attachment to it, and I've done a lot of work. But it may eventually leave my hands. I have a buyer, but I'm not sure I want to sell it and start all over with a new car. It may end up a continuously evolving car. The Ambulance is a big project. I don't know when I'll have the time to complete it, but I was expecting it to take a while. I just hope I get it finished before it rusts away and I just have a big aluminum box. The spec.B is a daily that I was trying to keep comfortable. I got it hoping it would strike a good balance between fun and comfort. Since getting it, I've decided that I'm willing to sacrifice a lot of comfort for fun. So I'm going to trade it for the BRZ.
  12. The people who watched Everybody Loves Raymond. It's the Invisible American Demographic that he's really after.
  13. 300hp.. that's it.. One of the things they're trying to accomplish is racecar performance with relatively very little power, so the car is more efficient.
  14. Makes the Genesis coupe look like the huge car it is.
  15. It's not going to be a breeze this year for RBR. But they can still do it. Newey is still a Master the likes of which you rarely see outside of a kung-fu movie. And Vettel is still a fantastic driver.
  16. Needs moar dualies! Nice. Once you get good tires on that, it should be nearly unstoppable.
  17. Huge turnout. I know not every C&C will be so big, but I hope every now and then it gets like this again. I'll probably be there next week. Maybe I'll do something silly like bring the ambulance.
  18. Wow.. got caught up and finished watching qualifying. SPOILER: This season is not going to be Red Bull dominated unless Newey has another epiphany. I can't believe a Lotus and a Mercedes qualified ahead of both RB8s. McLaren is looking really fast again. Ferrari is in even worse shape than they were last year. Domenicali is going to EXPLODE. Mercedes has a trick up its sleeve. I'm sure it won't stay secret for much longer. F1 2012 should be really exciting.
  19. F1 2012 is on! I forgot to post this earlier, so qualifying is over, but the first race is tomorrow! New rule changes, some driver shuffling, and the shadow of Vettel and Red Bull Racing looming. McLaren and Ferrari are confident they can challenge RBR this year. And a lot of people think Mercedes may be surprisingly good this year. Oh, and Formula 1 comes to the US this year, 11/18 in Austin TX. ..if they finish building it in time.
  20. The Auto has been reported to be pretty responsive. I can't find the video, but there's one form inside the car looking at the dash and the transmission was shifting and throttle-blipping very quickly in response to the paddles. (Wheel mounted, not column mounted) Granted, it's no DSG or F1 transmission, but for a gearbox with a liquid-filled donut at one end, it was very quick. So it should be pretty fun even with the Auto.
  21. Didn't get a chance to sit in it. But it looked great. Can't wait to get in one and take it for a spin. Also, it made the STI parked next to it look HUGE.
