Funny, but I wouldn't say "winning".

I work Saturday mornings now. Hopefully I'll make it out to some.

This. It would be like dropping a cultural nuclear bomb on them. But without mass destruction and social stigma for the dropper. Western culture, especially via the internet, is infectious like nothing short of an actual disease.

I just brought home a LG 65LW6500. I was looking at it, planning to take a big hit in the wallet and decided to see if Best Buy had one on display that I could check out. Turns out it's an End of Life model and they had one that was returned for being too big and only had 100 hours of DVD play on it. I was planning to think about it for a while longer, but at nearly half cost, I couldn't walk out. The LED TV is nice so far. The picture looks clearer, which is surprising. It's brighter and works better during the day. Also dark games have detail now. But, the dark areas aren't as dark as they were on my DLP. It's MUCH heavier; I had to check its weight to make sure my stand would support it. Also the 120Hz makes the motion almost TOO real in some instances. But overall, a good upgrade and I'm sure I'll get used to the new motion. I don't like how the screen becomes interlaced when in 3D mode, but it's pretty unavoidable for passive 3D. They should have doubled the number of rows on the screen, but I'm sure that would have probably doubled the cost. The thing is, 3D is still a rough technology and still mostly gimmick. So I really don't care that much for it. Though GT5 is unplayable due to the interlacing I'm not that upset because I wasn't looking forward to it. I'll probably pick up a 3D movie or two for fun, but most of my movie purchases will be regular 2D versions.

I just opened an account with Telhio because my bank closed all its brances on the west side. So far they seem like a good choice, and I can use other Credit Union branches near my work.

You calling me old, sonny? Dammit, where's my walker.. That's ok. Even as I get older, I still have something to look forward to: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/80745969/

I don't consider it part of the wussification. I think it's more of a self-image problem. We've been convinced that we're bad people. We have been guilt-tripped and told that we're evil because we are successful. Our problems at home don't matter as much because we don't DESERVE to fix them. Hell, poor people who can't feed themselves are better off in the US than those in other countries and therefor don't need to be helped. It's all fucked up. What I would love to see: Dear World, We, The United States of America, have taken a look around our home and decided that it needs a serious cleaning. So we're going to use up some of our sick hours and take the near future off while we get some stuff done around the house. You know, some cleaning, some fixing, balancing the checkbook. A membership at the gym might be in order as well. We'll pop out from time to time to pick up the groceries and do some shopping, but that's about it. We won't have time to chat. In the meantime, we recommend you take care of yourselves and sort out your own issues. You can do it. You must. Because when we're done getting ourselves back into shape, you do NOT want us cleaning your house for you. Sincerely, Those proud motherfuckers otherwise known as, The United States of America

Fuck, I think I just felt another hair go grey.

I used to care about this kind of stuff when I was younger. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

I hope this hasn't been posted before. It's kind of old (2010), but I didn't see it on a quick search. Guy has a 914 he AutoXes and decides to swap in a JDM Subaru engine. It is a ton of fabrication and it's all really good work. The crazy part is that it seems like the car is done around page 14, then he starts all over again on page 15 putting the suspension from a Lotus Elise into it. I haven't finished the thread yet, but it's great so far. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=113579&st=0

Uhh, I know this is a LOL thread and all. But, the Mayan calendar is based on the sun and stars. It either wouldn't need leap years, or have some form of compensation in it. The end of the world party is still on.

Really? I figured since they let TG take a second crack at the CCX after fitting the wing they were interested in TG's feedback. I mean it's pretty clear if TG hadn't tested their car Koenigsegg would be knee-deep in lawsuits.

Love it when bullies get their asses handed to them.

Hopefully it won't kill the Stig. Shouldn't it be able to hit it's top speed at Bonneville?

Slightly different question, but still HT related, I'm thinking of upgrading my TV. I currently have a DLP TV. It's clear, has no flicker, and is great for Movies. However, fast action can get a bit rough and while black is truly black, the set is too dark for games. I'm getting sick of not being able to see detail in dark games or dark standard def programs. So I'm thinking of going to a LED TV. But I have a couple questions that I'm hoping the Home Theater Crew here can answer for me. First and foremost, I'm looking at a 120Hz LG. How are their TVs these days? Is their passive 3D any good? Next, this TV has Local Dimming for better blacks. Will this make the set too dark again? Thanks.

Yeah, white can look pretty cool. Nearly "Panda" from the factory: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5265&d=1330901404

5K or so for the country this year. Should be a lot more FR-S units though.
-
I'll take a piece of this. No PAX though, raw times only. <-- Stuck in Prepared-Land :fa:

Supposedly, it will be in next year's LeMans. Frankly, I think it's an automotive abomination that will fail at anything but ovals, and probably not be good at that either. The design is rife with potential handling issues that could be solved with a traditional wheel layout. But they'd rather design how the car looks first and then spend development time and money on making it work second.

I like having a spoiler/wing of some sort, but I will admit the BRZ/FR-S looks ok without. I will be looking into going to the TRD duckbill. For the tails, I've considered wrapping the chrome sides and top with tint, but I'm not sure. All red is an option, but not a preferred one. TE37s look great on most cars. I already have a set for the STi (won't bolt up to the BRZ). But I can't justify dropping 3K on rims and tires for a DD. Instead I'm going with an eye towards lightness and I'm considering the Enkei PF01. Lowering will have to wait until I see what the spring options are. I'm interested to see what Vorshlag and RaceComp Engineering come up with.

After watching that, watch his Trials HD rage quit. MOON SHOES! MOON SHOES! I was in pain from laughing so hard.. I'm so glad the boss isn't here. :lolguy:

It's interesting how much this car evokes strong reactions.. I'll leave my BRZ N/A.. Maybe if there's a FI version a few years from now I'll go for more power. Hopefully it'll be supercharged...
