  1. http://www.goodlogo.com/images/logos/porsche_logo_2645.gif That, and 911s have a rather unique driving style on track. If you're not planning to go to Mid-Ohio, and the badge doesn't do anything for you, then get the C6
  2. Wait.... Back row, right. Is that a lesbian with a love doll, or a love doll with a love doll? All of the other dolls are accounted for....
  3. CBs are better than radar detectors. You'll hear about a cop miles before you ever see him. I like to put a CB in my car for when I travel between here and MA. You want to have some fun? Pull up next to a convoy and just say: "Obama" No such thing as a liberal trucker.
  4. Tim and Eric need to be shot. I was trying to come up with a more creative way to kill them, but figured why spend more time on them than neccesary? Just shoot them and get it over with. Not since Tom Green has there been a "comedian" that needed killed so badly, and now we have TWO.
  5. True, but building out the STI is not what I want for it. This would be the only race that would require a cage. AutoX and Track days would not. I want to keep the car as a "street car" and making the back seats unusable isn't in that plan. Who knows.... maybe by 2013 I'll have a new engine in the WRX and I'll cage that. But it's not likely. And the 818 would probably be gear-limited.
  6. In my Subaru? Yes. The GD body shell has been proven to be very strong on many occasions. And really, it's my choice. Rules like this aren't about keeping drivers safe, it's about keeping the lawsuits to a minimum.
  7. Because my car can do 154 from the factory which means it should have come with a 6-point cage? I'm not going to spend the money on a cage and rip up my interior for one event.
  8. I want to see the rules to decide if I want to do this, but you can't see the rules unless you're a member. So we need to shell out a membership fee to see if we even want to be a member? Lame. Luckilly someone posted the rules elsewhere. http://www.ecta-lsr.com/rules/carstreetcat.htm 4-point cage over 135, 6-point cage over 150. :dumb: Guess I won't be doing this.
  9. I like my version better. I pictured 26 satellite chunks bouncing from head to head around the globe, beaning people unaware and causing chaos. :lolguy:
  10. Hmm, might make me finally get off my butt and go stage 2 in the STI. :dumb: Stock top speed is hit in 5th. 6th goes much higher. Might be interesting.
  11. 1 in 3,200? That's pretty good odds. Roughly 100,000 people across the US will be hit by debris. 1.8 million around the globe. Which is amazing for just 26 pieces of satellite.
  12. I'm wondering if anyone has or knows where I can borrow a 2-car stinger-hitch trailer for a weekend. Both cars are under 3000lbs. A simple flatbed open trailer is fine. My tow vehicle won't make it to Oklahoma, so a friend of mine and I are thinking of using his to tow both of our cars out to the National Championships.
  13. "Hey, there's this new car out. It's got this really odd door arrangement on the passenger side! But we're not going to show a picture of that side because we're mind-boggling idiots. Please don't notice... Please don't notice... Please don't notice..." :fa:
  14. There we go. Racing is funny sport, and you don't see the insanity more than in drag racing. We give up tons of time, money, sweat and even blood, to make sure that when the big day comes, we spend as little time actually racing as we possibly can. Think about how many millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours were spent in order to drive for less than 4 seconds. :lolguy:
  15. Any idea at what time the run is? I don't want to sit through 7 minutes worth of fluff to find it.
  16. Find the best price and keep the number of a good body shop handy. An insurance company cannot make you go to a shop they pick. And they cannot make the body shop use inadequate parts. Find a shop that will fight for you. I would recommend Auto Body Specialists on 5th in Grandview. Good people, active in the local SCCA region, and they will stand up to insurance adjusters.
  17. We *know* Doc's Renntech SL600 will do 11.8 with an inexperienced driver and leaving from idle. I'm pretty sure some of these cars outclass that. So I question these results.
  18. "Because we can." http://www.wimp.com/dragrace/ Cool, but I was expecting more from some of these cars....
  19. Black box doesn't come with the crayon, that's another product. The Black Box uses a black pigmented cleaner wax to remove the swirls, then a pigmented sealer wax to protect the finish. It also comes with two black detailer sprays as well. I used it on my STI and it did an amazing job. True, a professional detailer could probably have done a better job. But for my mediocre skills the end result looked really good. It even de-emphazied a small scratch and a couple chips in my doors. The box won't hide them entirely, but the pigments help fade the lighter color blemishes a bit. I highly recommend The Black Box for those who have a black car and can't afford a professional detail or just want to do it themselves.
  20. Friend of mine had a great bumper sticker: Driving Drunk? Take off your seatbelt!
  21. So.. TKO = Saturn Same baseless accusations Same argumentative style Same knack for ignoring facts that don't meet his agenda Different car though. But same value to the community.
  22. Well they both have the same first name......
