  1. Try something different: Black lip, White spokes. Or Black lip, Red stripe, White Spokes. As for the rest of the car, do you know if the headlights are held together with a sealer goop? If so, you can probably bake them, take them apart, and paint some of the chrome in there black. It's a popular mod in the Subaru community and looks great. You'd also likely be able to remove those orange reflectors and replace the bulbs with amber LEDs.
  2. Back. Took a nap too. Doesn't matter if the Vic is in the right legally. Bottom line is, his car is toast. That's a fact. If he had been better at judging the approaching rate of the cars, he wouldn't have been in the accident. If he had left enough room for those cars to slip through, he wouldn't have been in the accident. Three drivers were in that accident. Not one, not two. THREE.
  3. Actually I'm pretty sure that Vic was guilty of failure to yield to oncomming traffic. You can't just pull into traffic and expect it to stop. That IS illegal. So, no, the Vic was not going about a "very legal act." Three idiots created that situation, not two. Anyways, enough armchair quarterbacking for me, I'm off to waste a portion of my life playing WoW.
  4. Man, that sucks.. Hate to see another Suby go down. Glad you're ok though.
  5. I, with my ultimately biased opinion, vote for the Subaru.
  6. Now, come on. Take away the Vic and the two racers wouldn't have crashed either. Hell, take away every car and there'd be no crashes on any roads. The accident happened as a whole. You can't take parts out because they are inconvenient. Three drivers created that accident. Two were reckless, one wasn't paying attention.
  7. Devil's advocate here, but: If not expecting cars to be travelling at a certain speed is grounds to dismiss blame, then why can't I park on the highway and say I didn't expect people to be going 65? It doesn't matter what you EXPECT. Accidents happen because things you don't expect occur. That's what your eyes and ears are for. The Vic wasn't paying attention and left his car in the way of moving traffic. This is a good example why we need actual TESTS for people who drive. In 2007 (latest CDC stats I can find) 12,000+ people were killed by handguns, and 42,000+ were killed by vehicles. However we give anyone with a heartbeat a license to drive. The point being made is that the accident occurred because THREE people, not two, were idiots.
  8. I saw this on On Demand, because I wasn't sure I wanted to buy it. Part way thought I almost shut it off thinking it was just going to be another quirky teen romance. Then the battle of the bands scene happened and the movie suddenly became AWESOME. I bought it the next day. It's funny too, because usually I've seen the comic first and think: "How are they going to do this in the movie?" But I haven't read the comics for this yet and I keep thinking "How was this done in the comic?"
  9. A great example of why street racing is just plain stupid. Right, wrong, it doesn't matter. You never know what the dumbshit boneheads in the other cars are going to do.
  10. THIS. Skip to 0:45 in this vid (the infamous Oioioioioi rally vid) Upside down, unknown damage to the car, the next car only a minute behind; and does the navigator get out of the car? Oh hell no. He just hangs upside down in his harness and makes a note about the corner. Rally navigators are f'n CRAZY.
  11. I don't have pics of the cars themselves but: 1st http://www.babym3.com/~babym3c/index0.jpg 2nd Same as above but black and DOHC. They were really fun cars. And it was great how you could pull the T-tops and rear decklid off and have a pretty much open car. My only regret was that they were FWD. Also the only FWD cars I ever owned. Next car was a '98 TA.
  12. Yeah, there was a open left and he lifted off the throttle letting the rear go wide enough to drop a tire off the edge. After that it was all over.
  13. Got in a very small amount of play this morning. It was enough to get a basic idea of how the traction control in the Leggy effects the handling. I would have liked more to play with though.. Here's hoping!
  14. All I know is in both cars I sat in the front seat and adjusted it to my liking, then I got out and sat in the back seat. In the 2010 Fusion, I had to straddle the front seat with my knees like I do in my Imprezas. In the 2010 Legacy, I had at least an inch of clearance between my knees and the driver's seat. In my older style Leggy, my knees just brush the front seat. That's the basis of my statement.
  15. Fusion fails on the backseat test. Subaru Legacy has much more legroom in the back. But a leggy might come in under the preferred mpg. To me, Auto + FWD != fun. But this isn't for me. I would think the new Taurus would have some good rear seat room. I don't know how its reliability is doing, or what price it starts at. Of the Big 3, Ford is the only one I'd consider buying from right now. (Never thought I'd say that) For me, the Leggy was the only choice, and my current one averages 21-23mpg city. And that's the turbo model. The n/a should fare better.
  16. I believe I read somewhere that while red light cameras reduced the number of people running red lights, they also sent rear-ending accidents skyrocketing.
  17. I swear by my Battery Tender. I'll let the car sit all winter, then turn the key for 10 seconds to charge the fuel lines and it'll start like I drove it the day before.
  18. Another well-placed camera man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFdGKeQph-Q
  19. Give me 6 months of mid-70s and 6 months of snow. The changeover is allowed to be rainy, so 5/1/5/1. I want the snow to be so consistent that they give up on plowing and salting and just groom the roads. Give me a reason to get a set of these: http://www.automobilsport.com/uploads/_neustart/WRC-RALLYES-2009/pirellit-sottozero.jpg
  20. Depends on the driver. If they keep the wheel cranked against the lock then yeah, wouldn't touch it. But a good driver can keep the car spinning with only a little steering input which is a lot easier on the pump. I hope we get more than "less than an inch". I lived on Cape Cod before moving out here and all that water around meant there wasn't a lot of snow. When I moved out here I thought "Hey, midwest winters! Sweet!" Then I find out that, with no geographic similarities, Columbus is just like the cape in the winter.. Pisses me off.
  21. Can't wait to christen the Leggy in snow.
  22. That was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I figured it was going to be a ripoff of Cars by Gary Numan and be a bunch of posing. But it sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Love the part where he tells the posers to fuck off.
  23. Your blaming should be better!
