  1. Naw, I got a set of 40" Donk spinners on order. Nothing picks up chicks like auto accessories that can mince a small child in 30 seconds or less.
  2. I see what you did there; inserting a picture of your own PT Cruiser.. Real slick.
  3. I don't hate Civics. I hate FWD. I hate idiots that think a stock Civic is only an intake, fart can, and wing away from a being a Ferrari.
  4. I am SUCH a ricer... This car has only a "chip" for power mods.. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3008/2675159603_b5085476a3.jpg And this one has about 30 square feet of vinyl.. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3160/2950302482_20c96b5513.jpg I'm so ashamed....
  5. Fuck the trick diffusers and Fuck the FIA. There's no reason why Trulli should be holding up Vettel and Hamilton when he's 1.5-2secs slower a lap.
  6. Just a reminder, the F1 race at Bahrain is at 7:30 AM, so it's watchable by those of us with semi-normal sleep schedules. If you want to see something REALLY cool while you watch: goto Formula1.com hover your mouse over SERVICES and click LIVE TIMING register a free account then get a LIVE timing and scoring window Ever listen to the commentators and want to see what they mean by "going purple?" This is what they're looking at. You can also see weather updates for the track as well. I've always wanted to watch a race with the T&S window, but I've been asleep for them so far. This should be cool. Grid order for those who missed Qualifying Race weights
  7. Autonet WiFi at Advance Auto Parts
  8. Ask her how much money she'd lose if all that data was lost forever? I bet the recovery cost would look cheap after that. Then compare the cost of a simple backup solution, and that will look like pocket change. If it's not backed up, it wasn't important; because if it was important, it would be backed up. Just *PRAY* that the malfunctioning arm didn't damage the head and SCRAPE the media from the platters. If that happened, nothing will get the data back. At this point *NOTHING* is guaranteed. Even if you pay $2K, they can't recover data if it's dust or smeared across the platter. Oh yeah, and $2K is a DEAL. Most places I've worked with before charge you $1500+ JUST TO OPEN THE BOX you ship the HDD to them in. Then there's diagnostics, clean-room handling, data recovery, data transfer, and return shipping. I had to quote between $4K and $7K when I was working PCs.
  9. Sounds like fun. Definitely my kind of grilling. I'd even bring the WRX and see how badly I can get it stuck.
  10. I wouldn't trust a dealer farther than I could throw his business. The amount of misinformation I've heard from dealerships is disturbing when they really should know better. This one piece of BS is probably to scare you into having your oil changes done at the dealership since most quick-change places don't use Mobil 1. What I'm saying is that you should look at your manual and then choose the oil that meets the manufacturer's needs and works best for you. Don't feel locked into Mobil 1 since it's such a finicky oil.
  11. Regardless, I highly doubt a specific oil is mentioned in the warranty. Now a TYPE or weight, sure.. But not brand.
  12. No sway should be fine. Body roll does not immediately mean a car doesn't handle well. Unfortunately, people think 0 body roll means a car will turn like a F1 car, so they slap on the most honkin' huge bar they can find; and then skitter off the road. The effect of a sway bar is much more complex. Removing your sway is not an automatic bad thing. It will actually increase grip! The only bad thing is that you'll likely lose negative camber up front when the body leans.... like that matters to you...
  13. Ahh, of course, because Japanese engines have completely different lubricating properties...... Read your manual.
  14. Bull. I doubt they use Mobil 1 in Japan. Read your owner's manual. I'd be shocked if it says you must use Mobil 1.
  15. Well, sometimes I didn't change it until my prep for the next race.. Some people change after every race, but I'm too lazy. I havne't been using Blackstone though.. I'm going to start this year and see what the oil looks like after a couple races. We'll see.
  16. Talk to the lawyer first before you do anything drastic.
  17. STI: Every 3K-4K. Because I change it so often, I'm not a stickler for oil type. Even conventional will work just fine for 3K. WRX: After every other race. I've been trying different oils and filters. I'm thinking of switching to Rotella next. Corolla: Uhhh.. Now and then. If you REALLY want to know how far you can go between changes, use Blackstone Labs. http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ They will analyze your used oil and tell you everything you could possibly want to know. You get a report containing all their findings, and a plain english explanation. They'll even keep track of your history and notify you of any changes. One cool thing is that they will identify any metals in the oil and can tell what parts they're likely from. Finally, they'll let you know if you should change your oil more often, or if you can go longer.
  18. Exactly. See a good lawyer. They will hear you out and tell you if you have a case (which I'm sure you do). Your foot is hamburger, there's NO reason why you should have to go without meds. And this isn't something that will go back to normal in a week or two. I'm sorry to say that, but it's the truth. The fact is that your life has been changed, and the insurance company and your work need to recognize this. They will jerk you around as much as they can in order to keep from paying. Someone needs to jerk their reins hard and keep them in line so that you get what you need.
  19. I'm surprised the hybrid still has a 17.5 gal tank. It also appears to be a plug-in hybrid. Interesting. Though I think the gas engine still drives the wheels. Eventually, they'll be running just on fuel though. They'll probably use just the electric engine to get up to speed.
  20. Not finished yet, but it's really coming along. It's great that the owner didn't just slap on a fiberglass body kit.
  21. ..but not how you think. Dare I say, Wide Body done right? http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102180
  22. Cliffs: Gearhead wants to show noobs how to race at track in order to prevent THIS from happening.
  23. I saw ONE run at Pinks. He did a 4.8@306. I covered my ears and it literally did nothing because the force was ringing my whole body like a bell. I thought my eyes were going ot shake out of my head. I have NO idea how the drivers can keep those things straight. It's literally one long drawn-out explosion. I don't think it can really be described as a sound. More like a "Localized Kinetic Event." I honestly feel bad for the engineers that work on NASCAR teams. I'm sure if they weren't getting paid well, they'd probably look for other forms of racing to develop for. An Article in StockCar Engieering interviewed a NASCAR engineer who said that a significant amount of time, effort, and money in the development process is devoted to making innovations look like they're cobbled together and ineffective so they aren't banned immediately out of hand. Being a NASCAR engineer must be like trying to play chess with half the pieces and someone standing over your shoulder repeatedly hitting you in the head with a half-dead cat. "Hmm.. Well, I could take his queen with my knight...." "NO!" *whack* *MEOW!*
