  1. Ok, design your perfect car out of existing donor cars. It doesn't matter if the pieces would be impossible to fit, assume you have the money/time/people to make them fit. For Example: TVR Sagaris Body Pagani Zonda-R interior Corvette ZR-1 Engine Subaru STI Driveline BMW M-Tuned Suspension etc..
  2. The 82A1 is essentially a civilian M107 and it's $9k. Then there's the 98 Bravo. That gun's just dead sexy. Not a .50, but I'm sure a .338 Lapua is just about as satisfying on any soft target.
  3. Well, yes, it isn't now. But my disagreement is with your statement that it would take a long time for electric cars to become viable. They're technically feasible now, and if the government made it profitable to make and support them, I bet we'd see an electric car on the lots in short order.
  4. Well, I actually got my '86 corolla back, so that doesn't count. Bought it for $900 and drove it year round for 4 years. Best buy I ever made. I do miss my '98 Trans Am. An entirely different animal compared to my current cars. Got laid off when I was still paying for it and it got repo'd. I've loved all my cars, even the '81 Regal with a broken bench seat, busted motor mount, leaked oil like a sieve, and was painted with house paint complete with brush strokes. But only a couple have had a storong sentimental attachment. My current cars (STI, WRX, Corolla) all do, and I'd hate to part with any of them.
  5. I'm more partial to waffles than pancakes. But since you didn't outright say omelettes suck, I guess I won't have to kick you in the nuts.
  6. With all the bells and whistles, probably closer to low 20s. The base model Focus is 15K. 100-150hp electric conversion is about 10K. Pull the engine and simplify the transmission (only need one or two gears) and you could probably have an electric Focus sedan for 22K or so. Start taking out some of the luxuries that people take for granted now (power windows, 10 speaker systems down to 2, etc.) and you'll save money, weight, and extend the range. And this is on a compact sedan. The conversion will go farther and be cheaper in one of those really small cars you see running around europe. (And will soon be here via Fiat.) Granted the range will be about 50 miles or so. But honestly, how many people NEED more than that to get to work and back? You can double the range for a work commute by charging the car while at work. Give businesses a tax break for running power out to their parking lots, and I bet you'll see it happening rather quickly. We have the technology to make it work, but the drive to do it isn't there.
  7. I respectfully disagree. But this is probably a discussion for another thread.
  8. I've been lucky enough to have never needed major surgery, so I can't imagine what you're feeling. But I do know that along with the pain, I'd be freaking out also about what happens after. I hope everything goes well for you, man.
  9. This will be on Pitchmen next Wednesday at 10pm.
  10. That's my usual Bob Evans order. Bacon and Cheese Omelette and a short-stack of pancakes. Mmmm....
  11. It was the Maverick. I haven't seen it for a while. The only explanation for its absence I could find looked like it was written by a 12 year old, so take this with a grain of salt. But supposedly, Discovery did some creative editing concerning Blake and he wasn't happy about it.
  12. That prank was great. I was amazed at how much water there was; you couldn't even see him for a moment there. I do think the Time Bandit crew ham it up the most for the cameras (Notice the new Jolly Rogers all over the boat?). But they're entertaining so I'll forgive them.
  13. Look for a Dan's Deli roach coach.
  14. I'm not sure he's going to stay home. I think I saw a shot of him on the bridge in the preview that wasn't in the first episode. I think he might get stir crazy and call the boat back so he can at least ride along.
  15. Ooh, I like that idea.
  16. I used to drink those. But the little umbrella was too fru-fru for me.
  17. A lot. I used to live on burgers, but started getting bad stomach pains. Since I've swapped most of my burger intake for chicken intake, my gut feels much better. I still have the occaisional burger.. But now I just make sure they're GOOD burgers.
  18. If you can't stomach bacon and eggs, you're not a man.
  19. I should also post how to make a "cheater" omelette. My father used to make them this way because he though it wasn't worth the trouble (and potential breakage) to flip the omelette. As above but put your oven rack on the highest level and preheat your broiler. When the bottom of the omelette is solid, add your CHEESE (emphasis for sol740) and bacon while the top is still wet. Then put whole pan into the oven under the broiler and cook the top of the omelette. When solid, remove, fold, garnish, eat.
  20. IMO, a good omelette is a simple one. Bacon and Cheese FTW. And forget any sort of silly ingredients too (Add water to the eggs????). Bacon.. cooked as you like. Shredded Cheese.. whatever kind you like. Eggs.. Three of them. Cook bacon and set aside. Drain pan, but DO NOT wipe clean. Beat eggs and pour into warm bacony pan on medium heat. Cook until most of the egg is solid. Show your 1337 Skillz and flip omelette. (Ensuring COMPLETE egg cooking) Spread cheese over half of omelette, crumble bacon over cheese Add more cheese if you want. Fold, serve, add cheese on top for looks. Enjoy!
