WTF does this have to do with Obama? This is Farrakhan talking ABOUT Obama. I didn't see Obama endorsing this or agreeing with this in the article. I think NOPR's point is a valid one. Just because a group gives its support to a candidate, it doesn't mean the candidate wants or approves the support.

Fake. Not one of the girls there screamed? C'mon. There's always one over-dramatic scream when something like that happens. I have no idea why girls do that, but it seems to be a dependable constant..

Depends on the engine and what it will be used for. But for a DD.. Much as I loved my T/A, I think Turbo is better. If you keep your foot out of it, you'll get better mileage.

Out of curiosity, who are you voting for then? What he's offering is "Not-Republican". That's it. It's a bad reason, I know, but THAT'S the "change" everyone's really voting for, whether they admit to it or not. The thing is, there's even LESS reason to vote for McCain. Unless you really LIKE how things are..... Frankly, I don't see this whole "messiah" thing you're talking about; other than the usual pre-election hype. Every Democrat has been touted as the next best thing since Jesus, and every Republican has been sold as the greatest thing for our country since the Declaration of Independance. Next verse, same as the first.

LOL. Only on a car forum.

Just a note, in most states (not sure about OH) it's illegal to ride bikes on the sidewalks. Saying that, cyclists need to share the road as much as motorists do. I was headed to a friend's house and a pair of guys on bicycles were riding along the road. Thing is, one of them wanted to chat with his buddy so he rode IN the traffic lane, right at a busy intersection! I went around him and gestured at him (not the finger, just a "WTF" arm wave).. and he flipped me off... So I thought I'd have fun and stuck my arm out the window again.. and he flipped me off again.. So I did it again, and got another finger... It was rather pavlovian... I just wish traffic was slow enough to see if I could get him to keep doing it, but three was all I could get out of him.

Correct. 99% of politicians are interchageable.

*shrug* Like voting for McCain is a thoughtful and productive thing to do. If you didn't want to debate, then just make a post and be done with it. So what you're REALLY saying here is that we should vote for McCain because he's NOT Obama.... Wow.. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2141/2396010804_c3c9c95079_o.jpg

LOL. Bet he was sick of the people trying to keep him out of their bird feeders.

Who says I believe anything? They're all lying sacks of shit with more interest in maintaining the status quo than actually changing things for the better. I'm just saying that it's better to change the water in the aquarium now and then.
-
HE won't change shit. It's the "changing of the diapers" that may help. Both candidates were chosen to run BECAUSE they won't stir the pot. Anyone who's looking to make big changes will never get nominated for a few reasons: 1. It's too risky. Strong opinions and big changes scare people. Obama's "change" is a subtle and "safe" one that doesn't scare people. 2. To really make a change, the person would have to abandon party lines and think independantly. Too much is invested in "Us vs Them" to allow someone like this to run. (Not to mention the joe-sixpack morons out there wouldn't know how to vote if the candidate didn't wasn't red or blue.) 3. Smart people in Politics get SHOT. As long as we only have people chosen from this two-party system, NOTHING will fundamentally change. There will never be peace, prosperity, and good will. No matter who is elected, the underlying status quo will remain the same. All we can do is try to nudge things enough to get slight improvements. So ultimately, it doesn't matter what individual gets into office, but really who backs them. The republicans have had the last 8 years and things aren't looking too well. Lets change the diapers and maybe, just maybe, things will improve a little. You have no idea how distasteful I find it to vote AGAINST someone rather than FOR someone. But I will have to this election and it's pissing me off.

I won't say they're lies or true, but to give quotes out of context is a common method to spread FUD.
-
Nope. But you wanted a reason to vote for him and not McCain. The only thing that differentiates them is that one is backed by the Republican Party which has been the incumbent party, and the other is backed by the Democratic party. If you don't like where you're at, do something different. "Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." -Albert Einstein

DING DING DING!! Give this man a cigar!

Not really, no. But I'm sure he thinks Evolution is real and that the earth is 4.8 Billion years old. That's reason enough to put him one higher than Palin. At least if he thinks some books should be banned, he's been smart enough to keep his trap shut about it. That's the point, NEITHER are going to improve our life. At least with Obama, we'll have something slightly different. When presented with going over a cliff or hitting a tree, I'll take the tree because there's a slightly better chance of survival. And if you ask "Why is he different?" He's not republican. That's the only answer, and I agree it's not a good one. But it's the only one we've got. Frankly, I don't want any politician in office. But you have to work with what you're given.
-
All politicians are basicly the same. And the 2-party system that we have now means you don't vote FOR someone, you vote AGAINST the other guy. And there's plenty reason to vote AGAINST McCain. He's more of the same. I don't care if someone says "He's distancing himself from Bush" It doesn't matter. Same party, same backers, same politics. And there's no way I want Palin in power. I can't believe people are actually liking her. "But just because she believes that stuff, doesn't mean it'll effect her decisions." BULLSHIT. Your core beliefs color everything you do. I don't want her near any sort of important decision. The only reason to vote FOR Obama is that it's a vote against McCain.

Any explination of why the injection nozzles are before the compressor rather than after?

That's why everyone's pissed about the bailout. If we overextend our credit, we get reamed and are SOL. But these big banks were going to get our tax dollars to dig them out of their own holes. Hopefully this bailout stays dead. Someone can answer better than I, but it appears that what will happen to us shmoes depends on who you ask. Proponents of the bailout say that our economy will self-destruct and take the wold economy with it. The other side say there will be some short-term problems, but other banks will step in and keep everything running. Personally, I think there's WAY too much inertia in the status quo for the doomsayers to be right. Great saying about bureaucrats and such from a shitty movie: "If they fell out a window, it'd take a week for them to hit the ground."
-
Accountability FTW! Now we just have to hope the doomsayers are wrong. Although, knowing our government, they'll still find a way of getting taxpayer money into the hands of their bed-buddies.
-
I vote so I can bitch. People say "You should be voting to help make our country a better place." But the fact is, you can't. The only two viable choices are bad and worse. So F-it, I'll vote for who I want and complain the rest of the time. If they were REALLY interested in voting, you'd get a "CD-Key" with your tax return, and in Novenber of every year, you'd enter in that key to place a vote on the issues/elections up for consideration. The ACTUAL voice of the people(taxpayer) speaking.

Off topic, but.. I love that sig!

Damn man, that is some good stuff you're on. The network should supply a dose to everyone that watches the show. That's probably the only way it'll keep from getting cancelled.
-
Just watched it.. I nearly cried. Knight Rider was my favorite show when I was a kid. This new show was just pathetic. Cheezy FX, craptastic characters, and they didn't even TRY to make KITT seem even slightly plausible. Ultimately, a joke. It's no wonder I never watch the networks any more.
